Bible Tips: How to Read thru Proverbs in 1 Month

Good Morning!!

As I was reading through one of my course books, How to Study the Word, I discovered a little tip on reading through the entire book of Proverbs – In 1 Month. It’s pretty Cool!!

Let’s Get Started: Today, Instead of beginning your reading with Proverbs 1:1, try reading Proverbs 8, as it corresponds with today’s date- November 8. Tomorrow you will read Proverbs 9, (Nov.9th) and so on. By December 8th (30 days in) you will have read 30 Proverbs.
Now you will have to double up by reading 2 Proverbs on one of the thirty days…that’s because there are 31 Proverbs in all.

I believe that you’ll enjoy your time with God..and If you continue, diligently, from month to month, you will have read the book of Proverbs a total of 12 times – in one year.  Yay!!

Pretty Cool..huh??

Give it a Try and Remember: Our God is a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
-But without faith it is impossible to please and be satisfactory to Him. For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out]. – (Hebrews 11:6) Amplified

Send me an email at ttwear@gmail.com and let me know how this works for you…Thanks!!

How does God Reveal Himself??

Hello Beloved!!

At the Benton Cultural Center, our bible class has been studying Faith. We’ve learned that we Receive Jesus, by faith, and that the Holy Spirit comes to dwell in our hearts, by faith. We’ve also learned that God reveals Himself to us ‘from faith – to faith’ – so nobody ‘gets it’ all at once.
To some, God reveals Himself in a vision or a dream. To others, He reveals Himself as a still, small voice. How has He revealed Himself to you?? However you answer, just know that He has revealed His promises and His plan for your life in those visitations. Now it’s time for you to get in agreement with God, believing in His promises for You, and take the next step. If you’ve been asking God, “How can I take the next step on my spiritual journey when my eyes cannot see a visible surface to step onto?”
The answer is: Take the next step by faith!!
– Thus…We Walk by Faith and Not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7.-

After All…It’s Already Yours!!
God has placed YOUR name on it!!
That dream…That vision…That promise from His Word…He is the One who placed it in your heart.
It’s Yours!!
So while you wait on God, with confident expectation, for the visible and physical manifestation, TAKE TITLE to Your Promise, Right NOW, by FAITH.
-NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses].- (Heb 11:1)

Prayer:
Oh Lord! We Thank You. We Accept and Receive Your promises into our hearts TODAY. We will go forth and possess all that You have placed into our hearts until You manifest it into our hands.

In Jesus’ Name.
Amen!!

Spiritual Journey – 101

Good Afternoon!!

I bless God for another day that He has made for us. Let’s all be sure to be thankful to God – and SAY SO!!
-Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and SAY SO to Him..-(Psalm 100:4)

Some of you know that I am on a spiritual journey. I am working on my Ph.D in Theology. Actually, my husband, Dewitt, and I are on this journey together, as both of us are working towards our theology degrees -It’s been great thus far.- Dewitt graduated with his first BS in Engineering from SIU-Carbondale and I received my BA in Psych from the University of Missouri-STL. We are currently taking classes at Life Christian University. Each course is a four week program of Study. The class we’re taking now, Methods of Bible Study, requires much personal discipline and a measure of self control – And although I haven’t been putting my portion to work, AS I SHOULD, God says that I do possess Self Control!!
-For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of self control.- (2Tim 1:7)

So Anyway, the course requirements include daily homework…and I have never been a fan of homework…Thus I am required to keep a dedicated notebook for the class, where I record a daily, spiritual diary. Also, I have to complete a Book Study on 1 John…and a Chapter Study on Galatians 5…and a Topical Study on the ‘Fear of God’…and a Character Study on Silas…and a Word Study on the Greek word, ‘power’…and all of this ONLY counts for 30% of our grade. WOW!! Finally, there is the 500 Word/2 page research paper (not too bad!) that counts for the remaining 80%. So as you can imagine, I’ve been a little preoccupied, a little distracted, and also a little undisciplined. I have really had to battle for control of my mind, so that I can stay focused on the prize and not focused on the pain. The Holy Spirit has had to remind me (one of His many jobs) that Jesus had to do the same thing in Hebrews 12:2.
-He, for the joy [of obtaining the prize] that was set before Him, endured the cross, despising and ignoring the shame, and is now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. -Amplified

So I am pressing toward the mark of acquiring my Ph.D in Theology as well as the call to excellency in Christ, as His disciple – Until I stand before his glorious throne.
Everyday I am seeking to know a little more about Jesus…HIS WORD IS TRUTH…and after all, That’s what makes us free!!
– If you abide in My word [hold fast to My teachings and live in accordance with them], you are truly My disciples. And you will know the Truth, and the Truth will set you free (Jn 8:31)-

Beloved, we need your effectual, fervent prayers as we go forth on this journey with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

As always-

God Loves You and So do I!!

Welcome to My Blog!!

Hello!! My name is Tamarra Weary. I teach a weekly bible study at the Benton Cultural Center in East St. Louis at 1516 N. 43rd St. Recently, I decided to start a blog because I wanted to share the Recap of the Bible Study Sessions with some of my friends, who weren’t able to make the class. Initially, I forwarded the recap via text message. The first recap that I texted was the lesson on ‘Being Responsive to The Holy Spirit.’ It was a fairly brief recap and was short and simple enough to read as a text message. However, the messages that followed were much longer, including the prayer and the scripture verses…so my friends called saying things like, “I got your message, and after I put the pieces of the puzzle together, it was a great read.” From my iPhone, the typed recap of the lessons appeared as 1 text bubble, but for those who were not iPhone users, they received about 6-8 text message bubbles-not chronologically ordered. So thus, the recap via text was not the best method for forwarding the recap. You’re probably thinking…how bout email or Facebook, Tam?? Well, I’m probably one of the last creatures on earth who does not have a Facebook page and I don’t communicate very much by email, but as a real estate investor, I have tons of contacts in my phone…who knew?? Anyway.. So as I enter into the 21st Century and begin to utilize social media, bear with me…I’m a little special. Lol!!
Yet and Still, I want to continue to share with you the life changing lessons that the Holy Spirit has been downloading into my life and I hope that they will be transforming for your life as well.

God Loves You, and so do I!!

Being Responsive to the Holy Spirit

Good Morning!!

The phone is ringing!! That gentle, still small voice is calling. It’s the Holy Spirit, whispering in our hearts today. If we will just pickup the receiver, and say “Hello!” He wants to comfort us and transmit the peace and joy of our Great God into our souls, and teach us His righteousness.

Let’s Pray: Oh, Lord! Give us a willing Spirit to share Your Comfort, Your Peace, and Your Joy with those who you will place along our ordered paths today.

In Jesus Name, Amen!!

God Loves You and So Do I!!
