God’s ‘Faith-full’ Daughter – Miriam!!

  • NOW [Amram] a man of the house of Levi [the priestly tribe] went and took as his wife [Jochebed] a daughter of Levi. And the woman became pregnant and bore a son; and when she saw that he was [exceedingly] beautiful, she hid him three months (Ex 2:1)

Hey Neighbor!

Today is Friday, April 29th and It’s My Birthday!!

Today I am blessed by the Lord to have turned 49 years old. 🥳

Thank You Jesus!!🙏🏾

I am so grateful for one more day to bask in God’s glorious grace and His enduring mercies!!

Now, Today I also have Your Super- Faith Sunday Answer: Who Is She??

She is Miriam!!

**************************************

She is Moses’ older sister…and she was just a little girl when Moses’ mother, Jochebed hid Moses in a basket amongst the rushes by the brink of the Nile.

Scripture gives us very little background about Miriam in Exodus 2, but it does reveal her dedication and concern for her little brother, Moses.

Now can you imagine being present at a time like this??

Your infant sibling’s life has just been spared and preserved by one of God’s ‘faith-full’ midwives…

Remember, Shiprah and Puah feared and revered God and refused to carry out Pharoah’s live-abortion edict from the birthing stool!!

Now when this evil plan failed, Pharaoh decided to proceed with a more evil genocidal edict; killing all the male Hebrew children on site.

  • Then Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son born [to the Hebrews] you shall cast into the river [Nile], but every daughter you shall allow to live (Exodus 1:22)

This is where we first meet Miriam, at the Nile River – where she is watching and waiting to see what is to become of her baby brother Moses, who is in the papyrus basket.

No!!

Scripture does not give us very much insight into the heart and thoughts of this little girl- but there is a clear indication that she loves Moses and like most children, she regretted seeing her family torn apart by Pharaoh’s evil edict.

So we find ‘Faith-full’ Miriam present and – on the scene as her baby brother is rescued from the Nile by Pharaoh’s daughter!

Wow!

Look at that – God has sent the daughter of the Hebrew’s persecutor to deliver Moses – who would someday become the deliverer of the Hebrew people!!

God had sent Pharoah’s daughter as his Lifeguard to rescue him from the River and to rescind her father’s death sentence against this man child’s life.

When Miriam saw Pharoah’s daughter holding her brother, the spirit of the Lord must have caused her to spring into action with information, provision, and resources.

This little girl spoke up quickly – preserving her family…

‘Faith-fully’ recommending the child’s own mother to serve as his nurse, unbeknownst to Pharaoh’s daughter.

Miriam quickly ran to retrieve her own mother to come and receive Moses from the hands of Pharoah’s daughter; reuniting mother and son, and restoring the family unit, and ultimately removing the threat against Moses’ life!!

No longer would Jochebed be forced to hide and to hush her sons cries!!

No longer would Jochebed nurse her son in fear!!

No longer would should she lay awake at night, worrying and anticipating a thud at the door; as Egyptian soldiers break-in to raid her home and snatch her baby boy from the safety of her arms!!

Any threat to or against the life of this man child, Moses, would now be struck down by Pharoah- himself!!

God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL!!

Not only has God returned Moses to his own mother’s bosom, but He has also caused the Egyptian armies who sought his life to now serve as Moses’ very own bodyguards , protecting and securing the doors @ Amram’s House!!

And for the Double-Bonus Round…

God has even caused and required Pharaoh to provide Jochebed with compensation to care for, and to nurse her very own son!!

Amazing!!

Is there anything too hard or too wonderful for Our Lord??

Super- Faith Sunday Challenge 4/24 – Who Is She??

Hey Neighbor!

Today is Sunday, 4/24/2022 and for Us…

It’s another Super-Faith Sunday, where each Sunday, we feature one of the ‘faith-full’ females from the Bible.

Today we are in Exodus, with a ‘faith-full’ young girl, hoping and praying that God would rescue and spare the life of her little brother, who had been born into a time when a man child was seen as a threat; and therefore a evil millstone had been placed about his neck.

Here is Her Story.

****************************************

Month after month she had helped her mother keep the child’s cries concealed. She was dutiful and obedient in every way to help keep her little brother quiet and content – and unnoticed!!

You see, her baby brother was an unwanted child.

Not unwanted by her mother and father, for he was indeed a beautiful baby, and her mother had adored him instantly!

Not unwanted by her, nor her other (older) brother, because they were both ecstatic about the arrival of their baby brother.

But this child was unwanted by the government!!

In fact, many of the expectant mothers were worried sick, having heard rumors that the midwives had partnered with the government to injure and kill the Israelite newborns at the birthing stool.

She remembered watching Shiprah so closely, when her mother’s time to deliver the child had come.

Her mother was in great pain, but instead of holding the cool towel to her mother’s forehead, she seemed paralyzed, she was unable to take her eyes off the midwife.

She watched as Miss Shiprah’s eyes filled with tears. She noticed how intently the woman stared at the newborn…she saw how the midwife studied the infant…she saw her reluctance and noticed her long hesitation, before she had finally cut the male child’s umbilical cord.

They had successfully hidden her brother now for 3 months, but today her mother seemed very sad and she was behaving very strangely toward the child.

She watched her mother wrap the child up and put him in a basket. How perfectly content her baby brother seemed, as he lay inside the basket…

It was obviously a difficult day for her mother…

Her head was hung so low, and she heard her mother’s repetitive sighs and tearful groaning. Her mother left with the baby in the basket, slowly closing the door behind her…

But she secretly followed behind her mom, watching her and pondering…

Why was her mother in such despair??

Why had she hidden her brother in this strange basket??

And why was she taking them both toward the river??

Again she watched her intently, but from afar.

She needed to see what her mother had intended with that basket, and most of all, she wanted to see what would become of her beautiful baby brother.

She watched as her mothers fingers released the basket, and as the downstream current caught hold of it – and now he was off and away – down the Nile River!!

She followed him from the shoreline as the basket progressed downstream.

She felt her little heart pounding in her chest, as she looked all about for crocodiles and other predatory animals…but what could she do??

She listened for his cries, as she continued to watch and follow him.

Still walking along the shoreline, sometimes running alongside, but all the while praying that no evil would befall her beautiful little brother.

What else could she do for him now??

She was just a little child!!

Only God could save her baby brother now!!

Who Is She??

Solution Saturday Answers 4/23 – Who Are They??

Hey Neighbor!

It’s 4/23/2022 and It’s Solution Saturday!!

  • Then the king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, of whom one was named Shiprah and the other Puah, When you act as midwives to the Hebrew women and see them on the birthstool, if it is a son, you shall kill him; but if it is a daughter, she shall live. But the midwives feared God and did not do as the king of Egypt commanded, but let the male babies live. (Exodus 1:15-17)

Question: Who Are They??

*********************************************

  • They were tasked by their ‘king’ to suppress the numerosity amongst the Israelites.
  • For fear of God, they resisted and refused to follow through on these evil orders.
  • God recognized them both, and blessed them with households of their own.

**********************************************

Answer: The Two Midwives, Shiprah and Puah

  • So the king of Egypt called for the midwives and said to them, Why have you done this thing and allowed the male children to live? The midwives answered Pharaoh, Because the Hebrew women are not like the Egyptian women; they are vigorous and quickly delivered; their babies are born before the midwife comes to them. So God dealt well witthe midwives and the people multiplied and became very strong. And because the midwives revered and feared God, He made them households [of their own]. (Exodus 1:18-21)

Send Up A Smoke Signal…Pray!!

Hey Neighbor!

This Story is For Your Encouragement.

When All Seems Lost…You Are Not!!

God Knows Where You Are…So Don’t Give Up!!

image

Here’s The Story…

************************************

The only survivor of a shipwreck washed up on a small, uninhabited island. He prayed feverishly for God to rescue him, and every day he scanned the horizon for help, but none seemed forthcoming. Exhausted, he eventually managed to build a little hut out of driftwood to protect him from the elements, and to store his few possessions.

But then one day, after scavenging for food, he arrived home to find his little hut in flames, the smoke rolling up to the sky. The worst had happened; everything was lost. He was stung with grief and anger.

“God, how could you do this to me!” he cried. Early the next day, however, he was awakened by the sound of a ship that was approaching the island. It had come to rescue him. “How did you know I was here?” asked the weary man of his rescuers. “We saw your smoke signal,” they replied.

It is easy to get discouraged when things are going bad. But we shouldn’t lose heart. Remember next time your little hut is burning to the ground-it just may be a smoke signal that summons the grace of God.

Bible Trivia Thursday – Who Are They??

And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves]. (Genesis 12:3)

Hey Neighbor!

It’s 4/21/2022 and Today is Trivia Thursday!!

Quoted above is the Promise God made to Abraham when he told him to do what I call the ‘Walk by Faith’ thing!!

God asked Abraham to abandon his home life, reject his traditions, and walk before God in obedience; to a destination – Unknown!!

Per the story in Genesis, we know that God is a Promise Keeper and He came through for Abraham, blessing him and his sons, Isaac and Jacob.

He made the names of these Patriarchs famous and Today we remain the beneficiaries of God’s Promises!!

I particularly love the verse above, where God promises that, “I will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you!!”

Thus- the Segue to today’s Trivia Question.☺️

Can You Name these 2 (two) individuals who refused to curse Abraham’s descendants??

These ladies risked their lives, as they disobeyed the Authorities in their land, like Rahab did in Jericho.

They refused to kill the Children of Abraham and Israel, instead they were a blessing to God’s people; serving as a wall of support and protection to these families.

And because they chose to reverence the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, God chose to Bless Them!!

Who Are They??

*********************************************

  • They were tasked by their ‘king’ to suppress the numerosity amongst the Israelites.
  • For fear of God, they resisted and refused to follow through on these evil orders.
  • God recognized them both, and blessed them with households of their own.

Keep the Faith and Carry On With God!!

-But without faith it is impossible to please him (Hebrews 11:6)

Hey Neighbor!

As I was making dinner a few weeks ago, my youngest son, Hubie, who is now 11, and also the ‘king of inquisitive’ asked me, “If there was anything that You could be or do…what would it be?” Well I hesitated for a moment, because as a young girl, I had always hoped to be a wife and a mother, above all other things. Having accomplished those feats in my life- and after nearly 27 years of marriage and having raised 4 children, three of them now adults- My answer now is that I just want to spend the rest of my life pleasing God!

I don’t think that was quite the answer my son was looking for, yet After thinking it over, He amazed me because he agreed that that was also the thing that He also strives for!

Well, how do we go about pleasing the Lord?

The great thing is…this is not a difficult or complicated task. After all, Jesus has already accomplished every imaginable feat and has sent his Holy Spirit to help Us with our daily walk, but He just asks Us, as believers, to trust in Him and His Word!!

The Writer of the Book of Hebrews reminds us that ‘without Faith, it is impossible to please the Lord!” But what exactly is Faith? Well again, in Hebrews we learn:

NOW FAITH is the assurance (the confirmation, the title deed) of the things [we] hope for, being the proof of things [we] do not see and the conviction of their reality [faith perceiving as real fact what is not revealed to the senses]. (Hebrews 11:1)

Now that’s scripture from the Amplified Bible, which may still be a little difficult to break down, but what the writer is telling Us is that Faith is trusting in God and the declarations of His Word…and because we believe that He exists and that His declarations are equivalent to promises to the believer- although not visible, we take spiritual hold of them as Truth…while we pray and wait for the physical, proof to manifest itself.

I remember my husband and I were a very young married couple when we began to get serious about investing in real estate. We had finally accepted the Lord’s will for our lives and began to follow his Lead. We would seek out properties to rehab, and when we found the right one, we would drive by that house every night and sit out in front of the property declaring what our intentions were for cleaning, painting, and repairing, although our offer had not yet been accepted by the sellers. We called it a ‘claim-by!’

We believed The Lord for our House!! And We just carried on as if we had already held the keys to the front door in our anxious little fingers. We believed buying that house was in-line with God’s plan for our lives and We trusted that God was preparing those who He loved to come and talk shelter (as tenants) in our home and to receive His blessings – manifested through our hands into theirs.

What Are You Believing God For?

Is that ‘thing’ in-line with God’s Word?

Are You Believing God and Claiming that ‘thing’ as Yours- Before it Arrives?

Are You Believing God’s Word for your healing- Before the Test Results come Back??

Are You Believing God for Your husband – Before He kneels down to propose?

Are You Believing and Expecting Your Prodigal Child to come home- Before you actually hear the knock on Your Door?? I Am!! Lol!!

If So, God is Well Pleased with you Neighbor!! –

-You are My Son, My Beloved! In You I am well pleased and find delight (Luke 3:22)

So Just Keep the Faith and Carry on with God!!

Your Blessing is Forthcoming and It will Eventually Come To Pass, because He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him out!!

-For whoever would come near to God must [necessarily] believe that God exists and that He is the rewarder of those who earnestly and diligently seek Him [out (Heb 11:6)

Super-Faith Monday – Who is He??

Hey Neighbor!

Yesterday was Resurrection Sunday and also Our Super-Faith Sunday- I hope yours was Blessed!!

Instead of recognizing one of our females of profound faith from the scriptures, I wanted to acknowledge ‘He,’ Who Was, and Is the Author and Finisher of our Faith!!

Who is He??

*****************************

He was born into the world without a biological father. Some men even questioned his parentage, because rumors had spread that his mother had gotten pregnant before she had married his ‘step-dad.’

His real dad was like no other. Always there for him, even when he walked hungrily through the wilderness. He sustained him with a food that his flesh could not perceive, but his spirit received heartily.

His enemy came after him when his flesh was at its weakest, but he learned that his power to prevail was in not in his might, nor in his flesh- but by his Spirit and ‘The Word,’ as his testimony.

He had an abundantly, loving heart. His was not stony- like others. He loved his step-dad, but he absolutely adored his father. He loved sharing his father’s teachings and always gave Him the full credit.

His effect on people, was miraculous and life altering- though his life was short-lived. He was a very young man when he died, yet there is so much that we have gained because he lived.

We have learned about his life on the pages of history; as he walked through the New Testament and where his existence was foreshadowed in the Old.

He was destined to be martyred from the very beginning. The prophets had predicted his birth and also his death. He was the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world!!

You see, The cross he could not evade nor avoid!! In the Garden of Gethsemane, His flesh battled with his spirit in protest. How could he endure the separation from his father??

His father asked him to put on filthy rags and to drink from a cup of corruption.

He nearly had a nervous breakdown, sweating blood and tears!!

But his father remained loving and compassionate, sending ministering angels to support him.

His friends had let him down- one had sold him out, the other denied him repeatedly. Still he loved his friends until the very end, and suffered a cruel execution for their failures and their wrong doings. The enormous burden of each and every sin was placed upon his shoulders.

You see, This Man was innocent of the crimes that they’d accused him of. But he didn’t say a word to proclaim his innocence. At Golgotha, He felt abandoned and forsaken by his father. This was his worst fear!!

But still He suffered for his friends and he died.

The wages for sin were not due him, but due us, instead.

But something amazing happened…three days after his demise.

When his friends ran to the cemetery…His body was not there!!

There were two angels there instead, seated where he had lain. They asked, Why do you look for the living amongst the dead??

You see the stone had been rolled away from the crypt!!

Death couldn’t hold him and the grave couldn’t keep him.

And Hell couldn’t handle him- He raided Hell and set the captives free!!

He snatched the keys to Death, Hell and the Grave!!

He rebuked that serpent, causing his venomous bite and sting to fail- At Last!!

He may have gone out like a Lamb- But He will return like a Lion!!

Who is He??
