Super-Faith Sunday Riddle 5/22 – Who Is She??

Hey Neighbor!

Welcome to Super-Faith Sunday, where each week we highlight a ‘Faith-Full’ female from the Bible.

On Sundays, I usually post the trivia question or sometimes a riddle, and On Thursdays, (as of 5/22) I post the Answer!!

Can You Solve This Week’s Riddle??

********************************************

Before me were set double portions of meat

Still I sat there and cried and I just would not eat

My husband adored me; He was loving and kind

But my rival, this woman indeed vexed my mind

Second wives, like we’ve read in scriptures before

Brought jealousy and envy straight through my door

She had given him plenty of daughters and sons, which left me embarrassed..

Cause I just wanted one!!

The priest suggested that my wine be abated

I was distressed in my soul, but not intoxicated

He saw my lips moving, but my voice was not heard.

But the Lord, He was listening and He heard every word.

God gave me that son, I returned him instead

And I vowed that a razor would not touch his head

  1. Hannah. Faithful woman of God. She answered God’s desire for a prophet and God answered her prayers. Our love must be reciprocal. As He gives to us so we should give back to God.

  2. Oooh I love Hannah, also spelled Anna, (11th century bc), Childless as one of the two wives of Elkanah, she prayed for a son, promising to dedicate him to God. Her prayers were answered, and she brought the child Samuel to Shiloh for as she had promised .

  3. Yes Sir, Pedro. Right You are!! I would imagine that Hannah visited Samuel quite often. And although God blessed her and Elkanah with more children after Samuel, what a monumental sacrifice!!
Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and your prayers, Pedro! 🥰

  4. 1 Samuel 1
Hannah was the faith-full woman, and as hard as it might have been to keep her word, she did.
Can a real mother willingly surrender her child to the Lord? But Hannah knew that Samuel had a purpose, just like Mary did of Jesus.

BTW, I’m sorry for the loss of your auntie, I pray for your confident hope of reunion.
    God bless you
