And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, You may freely eat of every tree of the garden; But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die (Genesis 2:16)
Hey Neighbor!

In Numbers 11, the people began to murmur and complain about the fresh manna that God served up every morning for breakfast, lunch, and dinner….and even for dessert!!
They longed for the fish, of which they ate freely and also for the leeks and the garlic, from back when they were enslaved in Egypt.
In fact these rabble rousers were nearly ready to revolt and return to Egypt, just to satisfy their insatiable palates.
What a stiff-necked, rebellious group of folks!!
But if you will remember, it was not so from the beginning…back in Eden!!
Back in the Garden of Eden, God was serving up fruit in abundance. Adam and Even could eat freely from a great variety of trees in the Garden…and they were pleasantly satisfied until the serpent slithered in….with a surprise!!
After their Exodus, I can imagine that Adam and Eve also wished that they could have returned to the Pleasantness of the Garden of Eden to dine and to freely eat, like they used to.
Only now they couldn’t go back…even if they tried!!
Their way back was now prevented by the Angel with the flaming Sword.
God had placed the Cherubim there, at the East of Eden to guard and protect the tree of Life from the hands of Adam and his wife.
They had been disobedient and had eaten from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and blessing and calamity…and now that they knew the difference between good and evil, they were banned from God’s Garden Restaurant!!
Where would they eat now??
After they were driven from Eden, they saw a sign that read: ‘Out of Eden’s Edibles’
Check out the Menu!!

Now, when Eve decided to inquire about the Serpent’s Surprise, she learned that it was actually a heaping dish of Fried Apples, sprinkled with a ‘dust to dust’ dessert topping.
She recommended the ‘surprise’ to her husband…but on this go-round, Adam decided it was best that they decline to dine in that place all together!!🤣
I’ve heard it said that hind-sight is 20/20😂

You have hit the nail with the Hammer, Anneta! Not only do we sell our souls to satisfy our ‘lusty’ appetite, like Esau and Eve…but we also sell out our children’s future and mar their destiny!

The human appetite is something. Imagine that the whole creation fell because mother Eve couldn’t resist one stinking apple. We laugh but what a calamity and people are still transferring their souls daily for food. Ask Esau – a bowl of soup and his brother also used food to collect the blessing from his father. Thanks for sparking our interest with these posts Tam. 🙏🏾❤️😊

I pray that we won’t eat the the serpent’s meal but eat from the tree of life which God offers to us freely. Wonderful post.

I don’t care for any food on that menu. I think John the Baptist had the right idea…
Honey and grasshoppers.
