Question:

āAs David, his father.ā
This phrase we find repeated nine times in the book of 1 Kings.
Unfortunately, most of Davidās descendantās failed to meet his kingly standard after his death.
One of Davidās most vile descendants reigned after him in Judah, and indeed he was a very wicked and bloody king!!
In fact, this king killed each and every one of his brothers for surety of his kingdom, soon after he was seated upon āhis father, Davidās throne.ā
Can You Name That King??
*******************************************
Answer: King Jehoram
āWhen Jehoram had ascended the throne of his father and was established, he killed all his brothers with the sword, and also some of the princes of Israel.ā āā2 Chronicles⬠ā21:4⬠āESVā¬ā¬ https://bible.com/bible/59/2ch.21.4.ESV
-Leave no [such] room or foothold for the devil [give no opportunity to him]-
(Eph 4:27)
Hey Neighbor!
Some of my best childhood memories are of spending the Summer with my Great-Great Grandma, Lollie C.
We lovingly called her, Momma!!
She was born in 1897, so she was 76 when I was born, but nobody would have guessed because that beautiful, little old lady was like a work-horse.
Every morning, she would get up at the crack of dawn, making her coffee in the percolator…that had the light where you could watch the coffee moving up and down through the machine…It was sooo cool!!
Anyway, she would begin to make breakfast, while the sweet sounds of her Southern Spirituals permeated the bedrooms.
At breakfast, she would always let me drink the sweet coffee that had spilled from her cup and over into her saucer.
I’m sure now, that she had purposefully spilled the extra for mešš
Next thing you knew…Momma was on her way out to the garden, with hoe and shovel in hand.
It was time to break up those weeds before they could take over her garden. Then she would get the shovel to gather up the weeds, along with their broken roots and toss them over into the alley, so that they would not have a chance to take root again.
You see, she knew that she had to be diligent to keep the weeds… and their seeds out, preventing them from establishing a foothold, because once they rooted themselves in…it would be difficult to break their strong-hold.
You’re probably thinking…Why the Gardening Lesson??
Where is the Lesson on The Helmet of Salvation??
I’m getting there…Lol
You See, The Helmet of Salvation is As much a Defensive weapon for our Mind…As the Hoe and Shovel are defensive weapons in the garden.
My grandma spent her mornings defending her territory against the weed’s foothold…which would have eventually become a stronghold in her garden.
And we too must also defend our territory and the spiritual progress that we have gained…thus preventing the devil’s foothold into our thoughts and his inevitable plan to establish a stronghold in our minds.
What is a stronghold??
A stronghold is a thought pattern that holds us captive…and We just can’t seem to escape from those reoccurring thoughts.
Psychologist’s would call it an addiction…and it is a spirit of addiction…only this evil spirit comes to possess or take root in our minds.
Just like the weed…it takes root in our garden, aiming to wrap it’s vines around the roots of our strawberries, and blueberries…attempting to choke them out…
satan plants his spiritual seeds of wickedness into our minds, attempting to control our thought life…and thus choking out the fruit of the Spirit (love, peace, joy, goodness, kindness, patience, meekness, faith, and self-control).
You See…with the fruit gone and/or diminished…there is now more room for satan’s wicked little seed to grow-up and take root…until it becomes a full grown, deeply rooted monster!!
That monster is sin…Fully Grown…and satan knows that it will kill us!!
The Apostle, James says it like this:
-But every person is tempted when he is drawn away, enticed and baited by his own evil desire (lust, passions). Then the evil desire, when it has conceived, gives birth to sin, and sin, when it is fully matured, brings forth death-
(James 1:15):14)
Although it is not a sin to be tempted (the sin comes when we fall into the temptation), We must be diligent to keep these spiritual seeds of wickedness from getting into our heads…
That’s why We must put on the Helmet of Salvation – That’s Jesus – In Whom We have our Hope.
There is Power in The Name of Jesus!!
When those evil thought patterns slither up from Hell…We can call on the Name of Jesus!!
Philippians 2:10 tells us that: (at) the name of Jesus every knee should (must) bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, And every tongue [frankly and openly] confess and acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father- That Includes satan and his demons!!
When we call on the Name of Jesus, the Hope of Our Salvation…the roots of spiritual wickedness can be hoed down, and broken from our thought-life…And…When Jesus reigns as King in our thoughts…and our mind’s, He takes these evil spirits captive, casting them out…and back into Hell, where they belong!!
-And take the helmet of salvation and the sword that the Spirit wields, which is the Word of God-
(Ephesians 6:14-15)
So, when you’re getting Spiritually dressed in the morning…Be Sure to Put on your Helmet of Salvation!!
But…Beware!!
Because Satan will be seeking and searching to find any breaks, openings, or gaps in Your Armor…so that he can slither through, but We will seal those openings with the Sword of the Spirit- Which is the Word of God!!
That’s Tomorrow’s Lesson…
So Until Tomorrow,
Remember…
God Loves You and Do I!!

In the Bible, sometimes the king would find himself āailingā and would be so filled with anxiety that he would seek a āwordā from the prophetā¦not the physician, asking him to confirm whether or not the illness would end in death.
Oftentimes, the prophet came bearing a poor prognosisā¦Thus todays Name that prophet question.
Which prophet had come to the king bearing very bad news regarding the kings condition, but a short time later, God sent him back to the king to remove the original death sentence!!
In this case, God heard the kingās pleas for mercy, and not only did God confirm that He was planning to heal the king, but God also caused this prophet/physician to return to the kingās bed chamber with a home remedy from Heaven!!
This natural remedy not only removed the kingās discomfort, but the king quickly recovered, and survived another 15 years!!
Can you Name That āhome remedy wieldingā Prophet andā¦The King that God Restored??

I loved Annetaās answer because she refused to google for an answer, yet she phoned her dad for a little helpš¤£
Annetaās Answer: I remember he (Isaiah) gave him (Hezekiah) a sign of the sun going back a few inches. On the phone with my parents and asked my parents about the (home) remedy. My Dad said heās not sure if Isaiah gave him a remedy. He remembered another story where a prophet recommended fig leaves though.

And David said unto him, Fear not: for I will surely show thee kindness for Jonathan thy fatherās sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually. (2Samuel 9:7)
Hey Neighbor!
In the Scripture above, we find King David āfaith-fullyā fulfilling an oath to care for Jonathanās son, after his death.
If you will recall, Jonathan, Davidās best friend and the original heir to Israelās throne, had fallen in battle along with his father, King Saul.
With Jonathan out of the way, David could have moved forth to quickly exterminate any and all of the surviving heirs to Saulās throneā¦like Mephibosheth and Ishbosheth (Jonathanās brother.)
David could have immediately taken claim to the throne in Israel, as Godās anointed King.
But instead, David waited patiently for Godās timing and Godās surety!!
David did not merely desire manās surety on the throneā¦through the slaying of Saulās descendants, but David waited for Godās perfect promise, wherefore The Lord would confirm him as king and set him firmly upon the throne in all Israel!!
You see, David was the king who set the standard, whereby all of the succeeding kings of Judah would be afterwards, compared to him!!
āAs David, his father.ā
This phrase we find repeated nine times in the book of 1 Kings.
Unfortunately, most of Davidās descendantās failed to meet his kingly standard after his death.
One of Davidās most vile descendants reigned after him in Judah, and indeed he was a very wicked and bloody king!!
In fact, this king killed each and every one of his brothers for surety of his kingdom, soon after he was seated upon āhis father, Davidās throne.ā
Now therefore forgive my sin, I pray you, only this once, and entreat the Lord your God only that He may remove from me this [plague of] death. (Exodus 10:17)
Hey Neighbor!
Today is Wednesday, and Here is Your Nugget for this weekā¦July 27, 2022.
****************************************
Todayās nugget will hopefully benefit those who are battling fleas!!
****************************************
My husband and I were attacked by fleas a couple of weeks ago. And not because we have pets in our home, but because our recently vacated tenant left us with their personal pestilence – fleas!!
Well, this is not our first go-around with fleas, considering we have been landlords now for almost 30 years.
I remember when we had our first flea infestation at one of our houses, after my tenant had taken in a stray cat.
My husband and I hurried to the pet store and loaded up our cart with flea and carpet treatmentsā¦.that couldāve been very expensive.
Fortunately, the customer service lady had mercy on us and revealed a natural treatment that literally saved us hundreds of dollars.
What was her natural treatment??
You will not believe it!!
It was Lemon Juice, Table Salt, and Masking Tape!!
No!! I have not lost my mindā¦just bear with me a moment, please!!
You see, fleas have a hatching cycle of every 1-10 days.
The salt, sprinkled liberally about the floor/carpeting, will end that hatching cycle; while the lemon juiceā¦sprayed liberally about the perimeter of the room, will burn the live fleas.
Ok nowā¦whatās with the masking tape??
Wellā¦in addition to a blood meal, at night, fleas are in search of light and bright objectsā¦like your white tubā¦and believe it or not, fleas can jump high enough to make it into your bathtub.
So now, you will want to turn on a light near your tub, and make a bunch of reverse masking tape wads (sticky side out), and place them in your tub overnight.
Any fleas that have escaped the salt and lemon juice, will find their way to the tub and get stuck to those wads of tape!!š
You must replace those tape wads nightly, until there are no more fleas on the new tape wads!!
Now here is another tip, or nugget that has also helped me with the treatment of fleas along the yearsā¦
That is Australian tea tree oil (melaleuca)!!
Tea tree oil will also kill fleas when mixed in any brand of carpet shampoo.
And believe it or not, tea tree oil, mixed in your hair shampoo will also kill fleas, lice, and even ticks, hidden in your hair!!
There are so many benefits to using Australian tea tree oil, fromā¦
* Tooth whitening, to
* Restoring hair growth to balding areas upon the scalp, (alopecia.)
* And even for restoring color to areas of the skin that have lost melanin (hypopigmentation), particularly for those having suffered burns!!
But I will not overwhelm you with too much information today!!
For Your Health Homework: Take a deep dive for yourself, and begin to research some of the benefits of tea tree oil, and next week, I will share more personal testimonies about the miraculous benefits of tea tree oil in my life!!
Againā¦I am not a doctor, nor do I play one on TV
So Ultimately, You must do your own research, and talk with your physician to make the best health choices for yourself and your family.
Donāt Forgetā¦Your Health Must Matter Most To You!!

Just to clarifyā¦I am not a salesperson, nor a distributor for any particular health product or wellness company. My sole purpose here is to strengthen the Body of Christ, so that Together, We might stand a little straighter and a little stronger ā until Jesus returns!!
My Great, Great, Grandma, Lollie C. always had a home remedy ready for anything that could possibly āailā you. Her tinctures never looked nor smelled great, but they were very effective.
When we were kids, nobody ever went to the doctor or to the hospital unless one of our limbs was literally dangling off, because one of āMommaās home remedies could always make it better!!
Well in the Bible, sometimes the king would find himself āailingā and would be so filled with anxiety that he would seek a āwordā from the prophetā¦not the physician, asking him to confirm whether or not the illness would end in death.
Oftentimes, the prophet came bearing a poor prognosisā¦Thus todays Name that prophet question.

Today we have yet another āfaith-fullā female from the Bible!!
Although this Woman has often gone under the radar, in my opinion she ranks tops in her class; right along with some of the most courageous women mentioned in the Bible!! ***************************************** Can You guess who she is??
*******************************************
My father, another wicked king, was now deadĀ Ā
My brother was seated on the throne in his stead
The same father we shared, he and dad both served Baal.
His reign was a short one, he was wicked as well
Much like our dad, who was controlled by his wife,
The queen mom took control of my brotherās short life.
She wailed not, nor grieved, though her son was deceased
For years after his death, our land had no peace
But I took charge of his son, to preserve flesh and bone
To rescue and hide the next heir to the throne
Though his grandmother sought to kill him indeed
I arose and protected Judahās last royal seed.Ā ********************************************* Who Am I??
-For because you bore it not [as God directed] at the first, the Lord our God broke forth upon us (Uzzah) because we did not seek Him in the way He ordained. So the priests and the Levites sanctified themselves to bring up the ark of the Lord, the God of Israel. The Levites carried the ark of God on their shoulders with the poles, as Moses commanded by the word of the Lord
(1Chronicles 15:13)

Hey Neighbor!
This week we had our Super-Faith Sunday Riddle, in addition to both a Tuesday Trivia, and a Trivia Thursday Riddle.
Here are both of those trivia questions/riddles and answers!!
2 Samuel 6:9, tells us that David had taken the ark of God to the house of Obed-Edom, where it had been āhousedā for three months.
Scripture also tells us that David was afraid of the Lord, after God had broken through and had killed Uzzah, who had not been āconsecratedā to care for the ark of God.
Question: Prior to the arkās three month stay @ Obed-Edomāsā¦.
Where had the ark of God been housed?
Who in particular, had been consecrated (set apart for Godās service) and charged with the care of the ark of God during that timeframe?
************************************
Answers:
1) In the house of Abinadab on the hill (Kiriath-jearim)
(1 Samuel 7:1)
And the ark remained in Kiriath-jearim a very long time [nearly 100 years, through Samuelās entire judgeship, Saulās reign, and well into Davidās, when it was brought to Jerusalem].
(1 Samuel 7:2) Amplified Bible
2) Eleazar
SO THE men of Kiriath-jearim came and took the ark of the Lord and brought it into the house of Abinadab on the hill and consecrated Eleazar his son to have charge of the ark of the Lord. (1Samuel 7:1)
Details: Courtesy of G.W.
GW: David didnāt move the Ark of God according to Godās stipulated instructions. They transported it by cart. It had been stipulated by God, when moving the Ark, it was to be carried by Levite priests. Not by oxen-drawn cart ā even a new cart. (1 Chronicles 15:3).
