Trivia Thursday – Name That King!!

– The name of Saul“s wife was Ahinoam daughter of Ahimaaz. The commander of his army was Abner son of Ner, Saul“s uncle. Kish the father of Saul and Ner the father of Abner were sons of Abiel (1Samuel 14:50)

Hey Neighbor!

In the lead scripture above, we see where King Saul had chosen Abner, his close relative (uncle) to serve as his military commander over Israel.

Now there was another King in Israel, who had also chosen a close relative to serve as his military commander, as well!!

This close relative/army commander was not the king’s uncle…but instead, he was a nephew to the King (his sister’s son).

Can You Name This (Uncle) King?

And Can You Name His Nephew/Commander?

  1. If you remember, this is Why Joab killed Abner…to avenge his brother Asahel!
    – And when Abner returned to Hebron, Joab took him aside to the center of the gate to speak to him privately, and there he smote Abner in the abdomen, so that he died to avenge the blood of Asahel, Joab“s brother. (2Sa 3:27)
