-But now your kingdom shall not continue; the Lord has sought out [David] a man after His own heart,-
(1Samuel 13:14)

Hey Neighbor!
We are nearly coming to a close of the first month of the new year (2023) already!!
Can you believe it??
Well, before we close this one out, I wanted to share a little tradition we Weary’s have as we close out the old year, and as we embark upon the new!!
It’s an Oldie, but I still think it’s a Goodie.
Enjoy💕

God has Truly been Good in 2014!!
As We approach the New Year 2015, We tend to spend time reflecting on the the events of the past year, and we anticipate and look forward to the New.
My family has a yearly tradition, before we toast in the New Year, We ask each person three questions:
What was the worst thing that happened to You in 2014?
What was the best thing that happened to You in 2014?
And…
What Changes are You hoping to make in 2015?
My Answer for Worst Thing:
It was to hear my oldest daughter, Daen’s broken speech, over the phone after having suffered a seizure. She’s in the Navy and living independently, so please, keep her in your prayers as the Lord continues to bless her and fully restore her health.
Best Thing:
The Start of Care NRC’s Bible Study Class at the Benton Cultural Center and the birth of the CareBibleStudy Blog.
I want to thank You for Your Love and Your faithful support.
I pray for You, each day before I click to publish the lesson/message for the day…and I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to teach Us and Lead Us into All Truth, together.
What Changes am I hoping to make in 2105…
I want to take a closer walk with the Lord!!
Not just in my prayer and devotional time and church attendance, but throughout the course of each day…I want to be more like David.
King David is my favorite bible character because he sought the Lord in EVERYTHING…God said he was a ‘Man’ after His Own Heart.
I imagine it was because of all the one-on-one time David spent walking and talking with God when he was just a shepherd boy. David learned that he could lean, trust, and rely on God…in all matters….whether great or small!!
I know how to go to God for the big stuff…the serious issues that I have…but I want to seek God, first and foremost…for the simple matters in my life, too!!
You know…for the stuff We often tell God, -Don’t worry about this one –
‘God…I got This!!’
But In 2015, I want to give God the first-fruits of My Everyday Life…leaning on Him each and everyday because – In all reality, Its Him Who’s Got Me!!
I want to give God:
The First of My Love…
The First of My Morning…
The First of My Time…
The First of My Finances…
The First of My Thoughts…
The First of All My Worries and Concerns!!
It’s so funny that My Pastor, just this Past Sunday, said that He wants to take a closer walk with God. He said he wants to take an ‘Enoch Walk’ with God!!
So…if He comes up missing in 2015, having suddenly disappeared…and First Lady can’t find him…then We will know…God took Him!! Lol!!
Well, if you hear in 2015 that God’s Heart is missing…Tam’s Got It!!
Because, I’m going after God in 2015!!…Just Call Me the ‘Woman’ after God’s Own Heart!!
I’m so, so, so, excited about all the New Things that God will be doing in 2015…and I pray that He will be doing a New Work in You, also!!

Her name is Daen and she just turned 30 years old. I am definitely keeping my eyes (focus) on Jesus for this one. Only He can bring her out of Babylon!!

I like that: ‘blast from the past.’ 🤩 She was not well and was required to separate from the Navy, but her health is much improved. She is my prodigal child…much loved and in need of much prayer🙏🏾

Hey Tammy. Great blast from the past! I am assuming that your daughter is hale and hearty and still serving in the navy. God has been good in 2022 and I know that he will continue to be good in 2023 as we continue to our our trust in him. Was reading about David today and how he learnt to trust God and even dined in the presence of his enemies. Learning to let God fight our battles as we sip tea and celebrate with our friends. Dancing about his goodness as well. 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾You know it doesn’t take much for my dancing shoes to come out. 😂My plans are to rest more, be kind to myself and be intentional about how I use and share my energy. 😘💗💖❤️

What is her name and age? We’ll get her back!
That is His promise. We can be positive and know she is learning great things for Jesus. Focus on the good He will bring out of it. You already know this! You are so strong because of your trials, this is just another one!🏆

She is much better Wenda, since she had the seizure! Please add her to your prayers. She lives in LA, near the pit of venomous serpents in Hollywood. She desires to become an actress.

Amen. My sense is that it doesn’t matter what the enemy intended for evil, God will work it for our good. We trust in him because he has said what will be and has kept his word for us. The enemy can only promise, but it is a vain thing, empty and only for this world. God’s promises are forever.

Tam, what a beautiful post you wrote at the turn of a previous year and it feels so very relevant for any year. A woman after Gods own heart, now that is something I would like to be defined as. A closer walk with God- An Enoch walk – love the way your pastor described it.
God bless you Tam.

Amen🙌🏾 Behold, you [idols] are nothing, and your work is nothing! The worshiper who chooses you is an abomination [extremely disgusting and shamefully vile in God“s sight]. (Isa 41:24)

Amen,
“Let them bring them forth, and shew us what shall happen: let them shew the former things, what they be, that we may consider them, and know the latter end of them; or declare us things for to come.”
Isaiah 41.22
Isn’t it amazing how we can remember the past, not dwelling on thim, but watching God glorify Himself, and us by extension?
God bless you Tam.
