Trivia Tuesday – Name That Judge!!

Of the sons of Issachar, men who understood the times, with knowledge of what Israel should do, their chiefs were two hundred; and all their kinsmen were at their command.

(1Chronicles 12:32)

Hey Neighbor!

Then there arose another man to rescue Israel…

This man was one from amongst the 12 tribes of Jacob, whose descendants would someday come to understand the signs of the times and thus, they would also comprehend what actions Israel must take to prevail against their enemies.

This judge governed Israel after the death of the Shechemite’s ‘chosen’ king, whose skull was crushed by a woman with a millstone.

‘Faith-Full’ Man’s Monday Riddle – Who Am I??

Hey Neighbor!

Today is our last Monday in February 2023…boy did this month blow right on past us, quickly!!

So as usual, on Monday’s, we are looking for a ‘Faith-full’ God-Following Man from the Bible.

Can You Solve My Riddle??

Have Fun🤩

*********************************************=

My two wives kept me constantly on my toes

Contention had entered our home, now my wives were like foes

The Lord had left my dearest wife with no baby to nurse

I tried and tried to console her, but her depression grew worse.

She had no desire to eat and most days she just cried

If pushed too far, would she consider suicide

I showed her twice as much love, but that wasn’t enough

I gave and gave, as if she’d had ten sons to love.

Still I continued seeking Him first and foremost, cheerfully sacrificing for years

And My God was ‘Faith-full,’ restoring peace in my home, as He dried my wife’s tears

Quit Looking and Start Leaning on The Holy Spirit- Part 1

Hey Neighbor!

It’s Another Flashback Friday!!

Today’s Oldie is from 2015, back when I realized that God wanted to extend his helping hand into every area of my life. The Holy Spirit gave me a fresh opportunity to try Him out…and Yes!! – He showed and proved that He was ‘Faith-full’ to fulfill every Promise!!

*************************************

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully-
(1Peter 5:7)

**************************************

Yesterday, in Our Bible Study at the Center, We talked about giving All of OUR stuff to Jesus…ALL of Our issues, whether Great or small.

That’s – ALL of our Anxieties, ALL of Our Worries…ALL of Our Cares and Concerns.

Once…and For ALL!!

I told the class a story about how I have a special agreement with the Holy Spirit, Who helps me find ALL of my stuff, after I’ve misplaced it!!

Here’s Part 1 of My Story….

The Holy Spirit and I started this thing together, after I had misplaced a train ticket that I had purchased for my Aunt JoAnn, who was coming to visit me from California.

Well, Customer Service had mailed the train ticket to my house, in Illinois, instead of mailing it to my Aunt in Cali…so I held on to it…and I set it aside…and I lost it.

Uh-Oh!!

Now When my Aunt called me, asking me to mail the train ticket to her in California, I had absolutely no idea where it was. I couldn’t tell her that I had lost it, she would lose her mind!!

So I avoided her call…while I searched through everything for several days…but I Still couldn’t find it!!

Finally, I threw up my hands and I sat down and I cried to the Lord, Telling Him how I had looked everywhere, and how frustrated I was…and how I just didn’t know what else to do.

Then I heard the Holy Spirit whisper,
“Ask Me.”

Huh?? I thought…Ask the Holy Spirit to help me find something that I misplaced??
That doesn’t make any sense!!

Then, He gave me this scripture:

But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you-
(John 14:26)

I thought, Wow!!….He does bring All things to Our remembrance…That is one of His many, Jobs!!

Then, I thought…That’s just too easy!!

Then, I remembered this scripture:

For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne-
(Mat 11:30)

So I did it…I asked Him, “Holy Spirit, Please help me to find My Aunt JoAnn’s ticket.”

I didn’t get an immediate response, but I decided that since this whole ‘ask Me for help thing’ was His idea…I was just going to Try Him out!!

So during that week, while I waited to hear from Him, I kinda expected to hear Him whisper to me, saying something like, “Look in the Glove Compartment!” Or “Look under the Desk.”

But Nothing…No Word….Until He reminded me that I had unconsciously, restarted my search.

I was out in the car looking in the glove compartment…

I was on my knees, looking under that desk…When I heard Him Say…

“Are YOU Going to find it…Or Are You Going to Trust Me to Show YOU?”

So I agreed, AGAIN, that I would give up my independent search…Once and for ALL!!

Although it was really hard to relinquish dependence upon myself, and to not continue my search, using my own effort and power to locate the ticket, I had to stop looking…while I was learning to lean on Him.

I had to refocus my attention on the Goodness of God and ALL the things that He had brought me through, thus far!!

I had to go on with my day, as usual, without continuing to worry and stress about that ticket.

You see…He was teaching Me how to REST in His perfect peacefulness…while I committed the WORK to Him.

My job was to Wait Confidently, and to FULLY, and Completely, rely on Him!!

You will guard him and keep him in perfect and constant peace whose mind [both its inclination and its character is stayed on You, because he commits himself to You, leans on You, and hopes confidently in You.-
(Isaiah 26:3)

Well…That’s It for Part 1!!

So Join Me Again, Tomorrow, to hear God’s ‘Amazing’ End to This Story!!

Remember…We Are going to be Amazed at God, Together, in 2015!!

Until Tomorrow,

God Loves You and So Do I!!

Trivia Tuesday – Name That Judge!!

Then Ahimelech answered the king, And who is so faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king“s son-in-law, and is taken into your council and honored in your house?  (1Sa 22:14)

Hey Neighbor!

In the lead scripture above, we see where the High Priest, Ahimelech, attempts to attest to the utterly paranoid King/Leader of Israel, that there were no feelings of animus in David’s heart against his father-in law, King Saul.

In fact, Ahimelech goes on to remind the king that David had been an honorable man, with an excellent track record, both within and without the palace, as both a psalmist and a soldier; and because David had been so ‘faith-full’ and valiant, You, Saul, even gave him your own daughter, Michal, to wife!!

Now in the Book of Judges, there was another most valiant son and soldier from the tribe of Judah, who became a most ‘faith-full’ deliverer in Israel, for forty years.

This particular judge was blessed with the Spirit of the Lord, both to govern and to battle; but it was certainly of no disadvantage to him that he had also become the son-in-law of the Leader in Hebron.

Faith-Full Man’s Monday Riddle – Who Am I??

Hey Neighbor!

At times I used my mouth to speak foolish words

Still the Lord blessed my children with sacred garments to gird

I once spoke against my brother, because of his wife

Where The Lord chastised my sibling, but yet preserved my life

God used my mouth, when my brother’s speech was stunted and impeded

Still my verbal warnings to free my brethren went ignored and ‘un-heeded

Once again, I erred and kindled God’s wrath against my mouth

When His prophet delayed to come down from the mount

Ultimately God did sanctify my mouth, consecrating me to serve before His Holy Place

Pouring the anointing oil upon my head, which dripped from my mouth and beard, and ran down my face

New Year…New Start – WITH God’s Grace!!

-Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me-
(2 Corinthians 12:9)

Hey Neighbor!

The world tells us that by March 15th, most folks have given up, and/or have gotten off track with their New Year’s Resolutions; but that’s not what scripture says!!

God tells us His mercies are new…EVERY MORNING!! (Lamentations 3:22)

So each day He wakes us up…whether that day be January 1st or March 16th…we get a fresh and new start with God!!

Here’s Friday’s Oldie!!

Enjoy🤩

*****************************************

Okay, It’s the New Year and I was afraid to step on the scale, but I did and I must boast and confess…that I have gained 7 lbs in my weakness…and I’m not happy about it!!

No Blame Game For Me…It’s All My Fault!!

I would normally blame my husband, Dewitt, because he is naturally thin…and can eat all night…and not gain a pound!!

He brings the tempting foods into the bedroom to eat…and eats them in the bed…after 8 pm; but it’s my fault when I decide to lay there and feed my face right along with him!!

Of Course, He’s still slim and trim…but I WILL have to ‘Work-Out.’

Our Exercise Class, at the Center, has been on a holiday hiatus, so I am looking forward to restarting our exercise routine Next Week.

We have exercise class on Wednesday and Friday nights…we do a walking routine, equivalent to 2-3 miles.

Afterwards, we usually have a healthy salad…that is unless Uncle Bob is cooking up one of his fantastically, fattening dishes…in his huge pot!!

Is that Blame??…Lol.

So Anyway…I am excited about this New Year…and I’m excited about My New Start…WITH God’s Grace!!

You know what else I’m excited about??

I’m Excited about Jesus!!

Because EVERYDAY…We Get a New Start WITH God!!

-It is because of the Lord’s mercy and loving-kindness that we are not consumed, because His [tender] compassions fail not. They are new every morning; great and abundant is Your stability and faithfulness- (Lamentations 3:22)

God’s mercy…His Lovingkindness…and His compassion for Us is ‘New’ EVERYDAY!!

So…When God blesses us with a ‘New’ Morning…We get a New Start!!

We can Go to Our Father, asking for His mercies, like David in Psalm 51, after he had sinned with Bathsheba…

-HAVE MERCY upon me, O God, according to Your steadfast love; according to the multitude of Your tender mercy and loving-kindness blot out my transgressions-
(Psalms 51:1)

Two things to notice, in both scriptures…David says God’s ‘tender’ mercy is multitudinous…

And (in Lamentations also above), Jeremiah says…God’s ‘tender’ compassions never Fail Us!!

So both writers, use the word ‘tender’ to describe these qualities of God…

‘Tender’ means to show gentleness or concern.

So every morning…God is concerned about Us…waiting for Us to come to Him in prayer…ready to show Us His gentle mercy and compassion, because He understands that We have ‘Faith-failures’ and that We sometimes, succumb to the devil’s temptations…and get tripped up…by sin.

But God IS ‘Faith-Full’ and He understands that in Our Flesh, We are ‘Un-faith-full’…and Without His mercy…and His lovingkindness…We would be consumed by Our sins!!

And…Just as God renewed David (in Psalms 51:7)…

He WILL Renew Us!!

He WILL wash away ALL of Our sins, making Us whiter than snow!!

Making Us Feel ‘Brand-New!!’ Lol

Then…He gives Us His Grace…His free gift that stabilizes Us and empowers Us to walk in His ‘Faith-fullness.’

So Each New Morning of 2015…in this New Year…

We Can Go to God And Ask for…
‘New’ Compassion and ‘New’ Mercies…
For A ‘New’ Start in Him!!

So You…can stop moping and whining…because You’re All ‘Jacked-Up!’

WE ALL ARE!!…without JESUS!!

So this year, when We find that…WITHOUT God, We are not able to stick to that new diet…

Or…

WITHOUT God…We are not faithful to maintain Our new fitness plan…

Remember…

We can ask God for His Grace…
To Start Again…and to accomplish Our Goals..and to accomplish…ALL THINGS!!

-I have strength for all things in Christ Who empowers me [I am ready for anything and equal to anything through Him Who infuses inner strength into me; I am self-sufficient in Christ’s sufficiency-
(Philippians 4:13)

Trivia Thursday – Name That Judge!!

– But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty (1 Corinthians 1:27)

Hey Neighbor!

After the death of Joshua, in the Old Testament, and just prior to the reign of Israel’s first King (Saul), Israel was ruled by the Judges.

Specifically, in the Book of Judges, we learn that God raised up 11 men and 1 woman to rule and govern his ‘stiff-necked’ children.

Now there was generally something surprising, or even ‘odd’ about each one of these judges, that would most likely cause you or I to question God’s choice of deliverer; like when God called the woman, Deborah!!

But again, we do know that God uses the ‘foolish’ things of this world to confuse and perplex those who believe themselves wise.

Do you know which Judge God chose and sent forth from the tribe of Benjamin, to govern and deliver Israel for 80 years, because of the the oppressive hand of the Moabites??

What was surprisingly odd about this particular Judge, that worked to his advantage, as God’s chosen deliverer??

Nuggets of Wealth for Life and Health – Marital Love and Abundant Joy!!

However, let each man of you [without exception] love his wife as [being in a sense] his very own self; and let the wife see that she respects and reverences her husband [that she notices him, regards him, honors him, prefers him, venerates, and esteems him; and that she defers to him, praises him, and loves and admires him exceedingly]. (Ephesians 5:33)

Hey Neighbor!

The Weary’s and The Dailey’s

From the photo above, you get just a tiny glimpse of the good-time we had last night, on Valentine’s Day💝

We really had a great time from start to finish!!

We talked about the Marital Troubles that Abraham and Sarah underwent, and how they grew closer together over time, after having overcome a multitude of relationship hurdles; and before they were finally able to peacefully enjoy the Laughter and Love in their Marriage!!

https://m.facebook.com/100064591063408/videos/

If you have about 35 mins, pour yourself a glass of ice tea🧋and enjoy the lesson. But don’t forget the popcorn 🍿because these two husbands here, are truly 2 goof-balls‼️😍

Have A Wonderfully Abundant Valentine’s Day!!

-Is anything too hard or too wonderful for the Lord? At the appointed time, when the season [for her delivery] comes around, I will return to you and Sarah shall have borne a son-
(Genesis 18:14)

Hey Neighbor!

Today’s Scripture Reminds Us that God Always Keeps His Promises!!

Here’s a little story about a couple from the Bible that faced hardship in their marriage…

I think we all recognize the names, Abraham and Sarah, but before God changed their names, they were Abram and Sarai and they had a tumultuous marriage!!

Abram and Sarai had survived many trials together, but still, they often argued because they both desired a son…but Sarai was barren.

God had promised Abram that He would indeed bless him with a son, but Abram’s faith had wavered and so did Sarai’s

But God came through, delivering a son and thus, restoring the joy in their marriage

You know…God Always Keeps His Promises!!

Here’s their story…

*****************************************
So Sarah was finally holding her baby in her bosom. – It was a boy, and she called him Laughter!!

Why Laughter??

Well, You see – just the year before, Sarah had been standing inside her tent, when she had overheard the Angel of the Lord prophesying to her husband; proclaiming that she – Sarah – a 89 year old woman would soon bear a son.

Sarah LOL’ed!! [ Laughed Out Loud]

To Sarah, this was hilarious!!

In fact…it was so funny, that Abraham laughed also!!

In Genesis 17:17, scripture tells us that Abraham was ROFLMAO!! – [Rolling on the floor, laughing his *** off]

Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son? (Gen 17:17)

Still, God kept his Promise to Abraham and Sarah. He remembered Sarah and gave her Laughter!!

Again, God Always Keeps His promises!!

Even though Abraham and Sarah had been spiritually shackled by their doubt and unbelief, God graciously intervened and severed their chains!!

NOTHING is too hard for God!!

You see, God had stopped by to see Abraham, just to remind him that He had not forgotten him!!

God was saying,

“Abe…This baby thing is not a big deal.”

I GOT THIS!!

And Even though Abraham and Sarah laughed and giggled as if the ‘Angel of the Lord’ had been an angelic comedian on tour, God had shown up to fulfill His Promise!!

The Angel of The Lord was prophesying restoration and reconciliation for Abraham and Sarah!!

You see, Abraham and Sarah had suffered great turmoil in their marriage, after Abraham slept with Hagar…and Hagar had Ishmael.

Yes!! It had been Sarah’s misguided suggestion for Abraham to sleep with Hagar. And we know that Sarah ended up regretting that foolish idea.

Sarah grew extremely jealous of Abraham and Hagar!!

She blamed everything on Abraham, but she took her frustrations out on Hagar.

Now Hagar had played her part in this as well, Hagar had despised Sarah, once she learned that she was pregnant with Abe’s baby.

I can imagine Hagar taunting and provoking Sarah, and flaunting her baby bump!!

But after Isaac was born…Sarah had reached her boiling point with Hagar!!

Sarah demanded that Abraham put Hagar out!!

She was fed-up with Hagar’s ‘games’ and now Hagar’s son, Ishmael was also teasing and taunting Sarah’s son, Isaac!!

I guess Ishmael learned it from his Momma!!

Abraham was very upset with Sarah, because he did not want to be separated from his first born, but God confirmed to Abraham, that it was time to send them away!!

It was time for Abraham and Sarah to stop fighting and to share their Laughter together, in peace!!

It was time for Abraham and Sarah to experience joy and pleasure in their marriage, and to put away the pain of their past and to walk ‘faith-fully’ with God… And to enjoy His Promise!!

Oftentimes, we find it extremely difficult to get passed the hurt and pain that we’ve suffered in our marriages, but God wants to mend those broken hearts ❤️‍🩹 and He wants to restore the sanctity of the marriage.

God wants Us to Enjoy The Abundant Life with our spouses!!

What Has God Promised You regarding your Marriage??

Please Share Your Stories!!

‘Faith-Full’ Man’s Monday Riddle – Who Am I??

Hey Neighbor!

I remained confident that my beloved ‘brother’ would forever honor his oath

I was sure of this, having pledged to him my sword and girdle; both

Blood-line brothers I do have, but not a one like this brother, whom my sister did joyfully wed

She once loved him, and so did I; and for his safety and protection, have we both plead

For him, I even dodged a javelin that my father once tossed at my head

My beloved brother was a delightful friend; our souls were bound and knit together as one

Remembering our covenant of love and friendship; he never failed to house and feed my one and only son
