Trivia Tuesday – Name That Judge!!

Then Ahimelech answered the king, And who is so faithful among all your servants as David, who is the king“s son-in-law, and is taken into your council and honored in your house?  (1Sa 22:14)

Hey Neighbor!

In the lead scripture above, we see where the High Priest, Ahimelech, attempts to attest to the utterly paranoid King/Leader of Israel, that there were no feelings of animus in David’s heart against his father-in law, King Saul.

In fact, Ahimelech goes on to remind the king that David had been an honorable man, with an excellent track record, both within and without the palace, as both a psalmist and a soldier; and because David had been so ‘faith-full’ and valiant, You, Saul, even gave him your own daughter, Michal, to wife!!

Now in the Book of Judges, there was another most valiant son and soldier from the tribe of Judah, who became a most ‘faith-full’ deliverer in Israel, for forty years.

This particular judge was blessed with the Spirit of the Lord, both to govern and to battle; but it was certainly of no disadvantage to him that he had also become the son-in-law of the Leader in Hebron.

God Miniaturizes Mountains!!

Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

Hey Neighbor!

I’ve got another OLDIE but a GOODIE for you!!

It’s another blast from the past (2016), but it’s also another real-life victory that attests to the truth and value of the Scriptures in our real lives!!

Enjoy🤩

image

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done (Matthew 21:21)

*****************************************

Well, my mountain manifested as three giant, rotten trees that loomed over my house for several years…and I was worried that they would become weighed down with snow this winter, causing the limbs to begin to break off and fall onto my roof. Unfortunately, I was not financially prepared to contact a professional tree cutter, so I was praying and trusting God for a resolution to my tree troubles.

Well, I was blessed to have a friend come out and cut them down for me…and not because I asked him too, but Because he was concerned about our welfare and the Lord had sent him.

He was no professional tree cutter, so after I made sure that my homeowner’s insurance was in place (lol), I agreed to let him proceed.

Again, he was a friend of mine, so I was also very concerned about his welfare…as he was standing there underneath that massive tree, so I found myself praying for his safety as the chainsaw slowly sliced through the tree…inch by inch.

Of Course the Lord Gave His Angel’s charge over Us to Protect Us and I Thank And Praise God for Miniaturizing my Mountain!!

My God was concerned about Me and my family’s welfare…and He sent Oscar to cut-down that looming threat…from over our heads.

It wasn’t long after the trees had been cut down and the logs neatly stacked along my driveway that I ran into this scripture, which I had written down this past Summer.

Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

And so, once again I was reminded of just how Loving Our God is, because while the weather was still hot and humid in June, and I was steadily worrying about what would befall Us with those trees…whether it would be drought, or wind, or rain to cause one of them to fall, God had already designed a plan.

When each of those trees had failed to acknowledge God first, for the very moisture that they needed to sustain its life…When they had failed to sprout leaves that would whistle in the wind, magnifying Him…and finally, when they had failed to produce fruit, God cursed them, having already laid the axe to their roots.

It reminds me of when Jesus cursed the fig tree that served no fruit, yet after it withered up and died, it served for fuel.

And now, during these frigid winter days and nights of below freezing temperatures, God has kept our family warm and cozy by the fire, as we most contentedly cast our wood…from those three rotten trees…into our fireplace.

Look At God…As He was caring about my family’s welfare, with such loving kindness, He was also tending to our need for warmth throughout this winter.

God is So Awesome!!…He indeed does miniaturize mountains!!

Thank You Jesus!!

Thanks For Stopping By…Until We Meet Again,
God Loves You and So Do I!!

Oldies’ Fridays: Happy New Year – God’s Blessings to You and Yours!!

-But now your kingdom shall not continue; the Lord has sought out [David] a man after His own heart,-
(1Samuel 13:14)

Hey Neighbor!

We are nearly coming to a close of the first month of the new year (2023) already!!

Can you believe it??

Well, before we close this one out, I wanted to share a little tradition we Weary’s have as we close out the old year, and as we embark upon the new!!

It’s an Oldie, but I still think it’s a Goodie.

Enjoy💕

****************************************

God has Truly been Good in 2014!!

As We approach the New Year 2015, We tend to spend time reflecting on the the events of the past year, and we anticipate and look forward to the New.

My family has a yearly tradition, before we toast in the New Year, We ask each person three questions:

What was the worst thing that happened to You in 2014?

What was the best thing that happened to You in 2014?

And…

What Changes are You hoping to make in 2015?

My Answer for Worst Thing:

It was to hear my oldest daughter, Daen’s broken speech, over the phone after having suffered a seizure. She’s in the Navy and living independently, so please, keep her in your prayers as the Lord continues to bless her and fully restore her health.

Best Thing:
The Start of Care NRC’s Bible Study Class at the Benton Cultural Center and the birth of the CareBibleStudy Blog.
I want to thank You for Your Love and Your faithful support.
I pray for You, each day before I click to publish the lesson/message for the day…and I pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to teach Us and Lead Us into All Truth, together.

What Changes am I hoping to make in 2105…

I want to take a closer walk with the Lord!!
Not just in my prayer and devotional time and church attendance, but throughout the course of each day…I want to be more like David.

King David is my favorite bible character because he sought the Lord in EVERYTHING…God said he was a ‘Man’ after His Own Heart.

I imagine it was because of all the one-on-one time David spent walking and talking with God when he was just a shepherd boy. David learned that he could lean, trust, and rely on God…in all matters….whether great or small!!

I know how to go to God for the big stuff…the serious issues that I have…but I want to seek God, first and foremost…for the simple matters in my life, too!!

You know…for the stuff We often tell God, -Don’t worry about this one –
‘God…I got This!!’

But In 2015, I want to give God the first-fruits of My Everyday Life…leaning on Him each and everyday because – In all reality, Its Him Who’s Got Me!!

I want to give God:

The First of My Love…
The First of My Morning…
The First of My Time…
The First of My Finances…
The First of My Thoughts…
The First of All My Worries and Concerns!!

It’s so funny that My Pastor, just this Past Sunday, said that He wants to take a closer walk with God. He said he wants to take an ‘Enoch Walk’ with God!!

So…if He comes up missing in 2015, having suddenly disappeared…and First Lady can’t find him…then We will know…God took Him!! Lol!!

Well, if you hear in 2015 that God’s Heart is missing…Tam’s Got It!!

Because, I’m going after God in 2015!!…Just Call Me the ‘Woman’ after God’s Own Heart!!

I’m so, so, so, excited about all the New Things that God will be doing in 2015…and I pray that He will be doing a New Work in You, also!!

This Too Shall Pass!!

Whatever You Are Going Through- Walk Through It By Faith, and Not By Sight!!

-We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.
(2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

Hey Neighbor!

Sometimes it seems like we’ve become burdened down with more weight than we can carry, but never forget the our God is a Heavy Load-lifter and a Mind-Regulator, and This Too, Shall Pass!!

Here’s Another Oldie-but- a-Goodie!!

*************************************

It’s been said that as We live this life, We will find that We are either;

Going through troubles..

Just coming out of troubles…

Or about to go through troubles…

For those of You going through today, I would like to Encourage You to Walk through it by Faith, and Not By Sight.

Take a Read through 2 Corinthians Chapter 4:

Paul tells Us that When we go through life’s tribulations; deterioration of the family, divorce and bitter separations, mental and emotional breakdown, financial woes, physical illness and pain, etc., If we will walk through it trusting in, and relying on God, then Our suffering is but a temporary, momentary, affliction…

And This Too Shall Pass!!

No!! Our troubles aren’t going to cease whenever we want them to; it’s not our own timing that’s important, but it’s God’s timing.

-But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

(Psalms 31:14-15)

Paul says that this current suffering that we are experiencing, in the natural, will produce great gains for Us spiritually, and eternally.

So although we are experiencing suffering in this fleshly tent, and these bodies that we live in are dying and deteriorating daily, Paul reminds Us that the inner man- the Spirit Man- is being refreshed and renewed daily!!

Paul encourages Us, as he reminds us that although there is trouble all around Us…

As we we walk through with God, He will give Us peace…so we’re not stressed-out.

When we are confused and perplexed, He gives us His grace (his kindness, mercy and favor)…so we’re not left in desperation and despair.

When we’re persecuted and it seems we’re fighting battles on every hand, Praise God we’re never forsaken nor defeated, because He causes Us to triumph over Our enemies.

Even when we are weak in the knees with fear and we fall down…it’s the Truth of God’s written Word that renews our Faith and Encourages Us to Get back up and Press On!!

Sometimes life’s roads appear to be rough, and rocky!!

And Yes!! Sometimes those mountains do look insurmountable, but your troubles won’t last always!!

God will give you hinds’ feet!!

And as you journey through these crooked places, with God’s Word in Hand and His Word hidden in Your Heart, you will make spiritual progress and You will make it out alright!!

By Faith, You will reach the summit – leaving your troubles and your sufferings far behind!!

So Be Encouraged Today!!

This Too Shall Pass!!

Trivia Thursday- Can You Name That Tribe??

-Then Jacob called together all his sons and said, “Gather around me, and I will tell you what will happen to each of you in the days to come.

“Come and listen, you sons of Jacob; listen to Israel, your father (Gen 49:1)

Hey Neighbor!

As you can see, today I have a new trivia-styled question for you:

Can You Name That Tribe??

Now we know that Jacob (Israel) had 12 sons. Here is a chronological list of those twelve:

1. Reuben, 2. Simeon, 3. Levi, 4. Judah, 5. Zebulun, 6. Issachar, 7. Dan, 8. Gad, 9. Asher, 10. Naphtali, 11. Joseph, (Ephraim and Manasseh) 12. Benjamin

Many of the stories in the Bible share the blessings and curses/feats and failures of these twelve patriarchs, and their descendants; but how often do we connect these stories to their forefathers/tribes??

So today, I am presenting a very brief story regarding one of these ‘faith-full’ descendants, hoping that you can identify, Mr. Faith-full, himself, as well as his forefather/tribe!!

Here We Go*************************

What ‘faith-full’ follower of God, from the Tribe of_________________________, put (his) foot upon the necks of 5 (escapee) kings, killed them, impaled them, and finally threw their bodies into the very same cave, wherein which they had fled during the heat of battle.

********************************************

Who was this ‘faith-full’ follower of God??

And, Can You Name His Tribe??

Solution Saturday Answer: The Widow of Nain!!

– And when the Lord saw her, He had compassion on her and said to her, Do not weep. And He went forward and touched the funeral bier, and the pallbearers stood still. And He said, Young man, I say to you, arise [from death (Luke 7:13)

Hey Neighbor!

This week, our CareBibleStudy class searched through the Bible for a certain bloody relative, who fled for his life, from King Solomon, and took hold of the horns of the altar (Exodus 21:14) for protection…that was on Tuesday!!

And on Thursday, we searched for the best financier in the Bible!!

And of Course, we studied to solve our ‘Super-Faith’ Sunday Riddle, and we identified this super-faith-full female as:

The Widow of Nain: [Just] as He drew near the gate of the town, behold, a man who had died was being carried out–the only son of his mother, and she was a widow; and a large gathering from the town was accompanying her. (Luke 7:12)

I had become his nurse, when I found him unwell

At his bedside with tinctures and herbs, I did dwell

When I heard his last breath, How I mourned…How I weeped…

With no mainstay of support, in the fields, will I glean

When my dear one departed, I had no spouse onto lean

But I found the Lord’s mercy at the lamenting procession

Just in time, he had come and revealed his compassion

Just one touch from Jesus; That’s all it took

Trivia Tuesday- Can You Name That Relative??

– So king Solomon sent, and they brought him (Adonijah) down from the altar. And he came and bowed himself to king Solomon: and Solomon said unto him, Go to thine house (1Kings 1:53)

Hey Neighbor!

Last week we learned that King Solomon was finally forced to execute his older brother, Adonijah, after he made a power play for the throne, with his deceptively clever petition to marry Abishag.

After David died, Adonijah made a request to marry their father’s concubine, Abishag, who would have rightfully become a possession,
transferred into the hands of the (new) reigning King, Solomon!

As we well know, this was not Adonijah’s first attempt at the throne. In fact, Adonijah had made his first, failed attempt while there was still breath in the ailing king (David’s) body!

In the lead scripture, above, we see that Adonijah’s first attempt at the throne only resulted in an admonishment for him to go home, and to behave!!

You see, at that time, Solomon no longer perceived Adonijah to be a threat to the throne, now that David was dead, but Adonijah was afraid of Solomon!!

He was shaking in his boots; so afraid of how the new king might react!!

You see, after Solomon had been properly appointed, anointed, and crowned king, Adonijah recognized that his head was bound for the grave!!

Adonijah realized that his actions were worthy and deserving of death, so in response, Adonijah ran to the tabernacle tent on Mt. Zion, for refuge from Solomon, where he caught hold of the horns of the altar!!

Again, Solomon, wet behind the ears, did not perceive his older brother to be a danger, so he just sent Adonijah home!!

Now Adonijah was not the only close relative, who had run for refuge from King Solomon!!

Fearing for his own life, this relative also took hold of the horns of the altar, because he was a murderer, guilty of avenging the blood of war, during times of peace!!

On this occasion, Solomon showed himself strong; and thus Solomon had this bloody relative struck down and executed, right there at the altar!!

********************************

Can You Name This (Bloody) Relative of Solomon’s??
