Hey Neighbor!

Today’s Scripture Reminds Us that God Always Keeps His Promises!!

Here’s a little story about a couple from the Bible that faced hardship in their marriage…

I think we all recognize the names, Abraham and Sarah, but before God changed their names, they were Abram and Sarai and they had a tumultuous marriage!!

Abram and Sarai had survived many trials together, but still, they often argued because they both desired a son…but Sarai was barren.

God had promised Abram that He would indeed bless him with a son, but Abram’s faith had wavered and so did Sarai’s

But God came through, delivering a son and thus, restoring the joy in their marriage

You know…God Always Keeps His Promises!!

Here’s their story…

So Sarah was finally holding her baby in her bosom. – It was a boy, and she called him Laughter!!

Why Laughter??

Well, You see – just the year before, Sarah had been standing inside her tent, when she had overheard the Angel of the Lord prophesying to her husband; proclaiming that she – Sarah – a 89 year old woman would soon bear a son.

Sarah LOL’ed!! [ Laughed Out Loud]

To Sarah, this was hilarious!!

In fact…it was so funny, that Abraham laughed also!!

In Genesis 17:17, scripture tells us that Abraham was ROFLMAO!! – [Rolling on the floor, laughing his *** off]

Abraham fell on his face and laughed and said in his heart, Shall a child be born to a man who is a hundred years old? And shall Sarah, who is ninety years old, bear a son? (Gen 17:17)

Still, God kept his Promise to Abraham and Sarah. He remembered Sarah and gave her Laughter!!

Again, God Always Keeps His promises!!

Even though Abraham and Sarah had been spiritually shackled by their doubt and unbelief, God graciously intervened and severed their chains!!

NOTHING is too hard for God!!

You see, God had stopped by to see Abraham, just to remind him that He had not forgotten him!!

God was saying,

“Abe…This baby thing is not a big deal.”

I GOT THIS!!

And Even though Abraham and Sarah laughed and giggled as if the ‘Angel of the Lord’ had been an angelic comedian on tour, God had shown up to fulfill His Promise!!

The Angel of The Lord was prophesying restoration and reconciliation for Abraham and Sarah!!

You see, Abraham and Sarah had suffered great turmoil in their marriage, after Abraham slept with Hagar…and Hagar had Ishmael.

Yes!! It had been Sarah’s misguided suggestion for Abraham to sleep with Hagar. And we know that Sarah ended up regretting that foolish idea.

Sarah grew extremely jealous of Abraham and Hagar!!

She blamed everything on Abraham, but she took her frustrations out on Hagar.

Now Hagar had played her part in this as well, Hagar had despised Sarah, once she learned that she was pregnant with Abe’s baby.

I can imagine Hagar taunting and provoking Sarah, and flaunting her baby bump!!

But after Isaac was born…Sarah had reached her boiling point with Hagar!!

Sarah demanded that Abraham put Hagar out!!

She was fed-up with Hagar’s ‘games’ and now Hagar’s son, Ishmael was also teasing and taunting Sarah’s son, Isaac!!

I guess Ishmael learned it from his Momma!!

Abraham was very upset with Sarah, because he did not want to be separated from his first born, but God confirmed to Abraham, that it was time to send them away!!

It was time for Abraham and Sarah to stop fighting and to share their Laughter together, in peace!!

It was time for Abraham and Sarah to experience joy and pleasure in their marriage, and to put away the pain of their past and to walk ‘faith-fully’ with God… And to enjoy His Promise!!

Oftentimes, we find it extremely difficult to get passed the hurt and pain that we’ve suffered in our marriages, but God wants to mend those broken hearts ❤️‍🩹 and He wants to restore the sanctity of the marriage.

God wants Us to Enjoy The Abundant Life with our spouses!!

God Miniaturizes Mountains!!

Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

It’s another blast from the past (2016), but it’s also another real-life victory that attests to the truth and value of the Scriptures in our real lives!!

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done (Matthew 21:21)

Well, my mountain manifested as three giant, rotten trees that loomed over my house for several years…and I was worried that they would become weighed down with snow this winter, causing the limbs to begin to break off and fall onto my roof. Unfortunately, I was not financially prepared to contact a professional tree cutter, so I was praying and trusting God for a resolution to my tree troubles.

Well, I was blessed to have a friend come out and cut them down for me…and not because I asked him too, but Because he was concerned about our welfare and the Lord had sent him.

He was no professional tree cutter, so after I made sure that my homeowner’s insurance was in place (lol), I agreed to let him proceed.

Again, he was a friend of mine, so I was also very concerned about his welfare…as he was standing there underneath that massive tree, so I found myself praying for his safety as the chainsaw slowly sliced through the tree…inch by inch.

Of Course the Lord Gave His Angel’s charge over Us to Protect Us and I Thank And Praise God for Miniaturizing my Mountain!!

My God was concerned about Me and my family’s welfare…and He sent Oscar to cut-down that looming threat…from over our heads.

It wasn’t long after the trees had been cut down and the logs neatly stacked along my driveway that I ran into this scripture, which I had written down this past Summer.

Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

And so, once again I was reminded of just how Loving Our God is, because while the weather was still hot and humid in June, and I was steadily worrying about what would befall Us with those trees…whether it would be drought, or wind, or rain to cause one of them to fall, God had already designed a plan.

When each of those trees had failed to acknowledge God first, for the very moisture that they needed to sustain its life…When they had failed to sprout leaves that would whistle in the wind, magnifying Him…and finally, when they had failed to produce fruit, God cursed them, having already laid the axe to their roots.

It reminds me of when Jesus cursed the fig tree that served no fruit, yet after it withered up and died, it served for fuel.

And now, during these frigid winter days and nights of below freezing temperatures, God has kept our family warm and cozy by the fire, as we most contentedly cast our wood…from those three rotten trees…into our fireplace.

Look At God…As He was caring about my family’s welfare, with such loving kindness, He was also tending to our need for warmth throughout this winter.

God is So Awesome!!…He indeed does miniaturize mountains!!

Thank You Jesus!!

In the scripture above, we see where Jesus boldly healed the man with the withered hand, in the synagogue. The man simply held out his hand, and the King of Mercy, God Himself, manifest in the flesh, fully restored the man’s dried up hand.

Now, in the scripture, there was yet another man whose paralyzed hand was also fully restored unto him.

However, this hand was not that of just any ordinary man. This man was a King of Israel…and even as wicked as he was, when his hand dried up, God mercifully empowered, and permitted the prophet to completely heal and restore this king’s withered hand.

It’s Oldie but a Goodie Friday, and today is my (deceased) Brother’s B-day….December 16th.

Tony, my big-brother, has been gone now since February of 2015, but just a few months prior to his death, he reached out to me at Christmas time, during the wee hours of the morning.

Here is that ‘oldie’ Story of Forgiveness from December 2014!!

I’m so excited today, because NOTHING…can separate Us from the Love of God!!

I wasn’t planning on posting today.
I figured I would give you a break today, but God had another plan…

Here’s the Story…

It was 5:30 in the morning and somebody was texting me.

Now, I normally turn the sound off on my phone, but I guess I had forgotten. I was in a deep sleep and nearly fell back asleep, but the Holy Spirit knew it was an important message…and it was…It was my brother, from California…which meant it was 3:30am on the West coast.

God Was Working the Night Shift!!

We called him, Tony…that was his nickname…and I hadn’t spoken with him in years…I forgot just how many!! Lol

He called me Nookie!! That was my nickname…and I can’t believe I had forgotten that. It had been so long since I’ve heard it.

Nowadays, my identity is Tam…Wife…Momma…daughter….
Niece…Cousin…Landlady…etc.
but never Nookie, anymore!!

It was so nice to hear that again…it brought tears to my eyes and it brought back a long, lost, but comforting identity for me…Sister!!

Sure!! I’m Sister Tam with my Church Fam…and I love it!!…but this was my Blood!!

My brother and sister and I had become distant after our Father died…of course there was plenty of family drama that took place since Daddy’s death that further separated us…and so now we don’t talk to each other, anymore…and I’m sick of it!!

I’m over that mess!!…I’m Sooo over that!!
I love my Big Sister and I love my Big Brother!!

You see, I was the baby…and they both looked out for me. So If some boy was bullying me…I went and told my big brother…and Tony took care of it!!

If Tony was bullying me…I went and told my big Sister…and Treecy took care of Him!! Lol

Nobody messed with Nookie!!

God is So Awesome!!
He still knows My Name…even when I forgot It!!

…Even when We forget who We are and where We came from…God Still Knows!!

And He loves Us no matter how far away We’ve gone…and no matter what We’ve done wrong!!
He still Loves Us!!

…And He’s already forgiven Us…
He just wants Us to receive it!!

And if we’re already Forgiven…shouldn’t We be Forgiving??

How long can we let that same grudge keep us separated from the Ones We love??

Jesus forgave us and gave his life for us while we were still sinners…that means He died while Momma was out there tripping…and Brother was out there cheating…and Sister was out there stripping…and Cuz was out there robbing…and Uncle was out there drugging…and Auntie was out there ‘dranking’….and when
We were ALL, just Out There Bad!!

He Still loved Us…and He Still Forgave Us in the midst of our filthy, raggedy, wretched sins…while we were still wallowing in our mess…and loving it!!

He Gave up His Life for Us!!

If God has Forgiven Us…when we didn’t deserve it…then maybe we should forgive somebody else…when they don’t deserve it.

God did it for Christ’s sake…so I can do it too!!

I Forgive my Brother, Tony – For Christ’s sake!!

I Forgive my Sister, Treecy – For Christ’s sake!!

I pray that they both can Forgive Me – For Christ’s sake!!

You can’t give a better gift this Christmas than to Give Somebody Your Forgiveness!!

…And The Best Present You and I can get in our Christmas Stocking is Forgiveness wrapped up in the Love of Christ!!

-But God shows and clearly proves His [own] love for us by the fact that while we were still sinners, Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One) died for us. Therefore, since we are now justified (acquitted, made righteous, and brought into right relationship with God) by Christ’s blood, how much more [certain is it that] we shall be saved by Him from the indignation and wrath of God-
(Romans 5:9)

Trivia Thursday – Name That Relative!!

Many of us are familiar with the Lead Scripture above, where Judas salutes Jesus with the ‘kiss of betrayal.’ 

We know that Jesus submitted to the ‘authority’ of the chief priests and their henchmen, permitting them to take him away, because their time (their dark hour) had finally come, wherein they were destined and determined to quickly kill our Lord and Savior!!

Judas was Jesus’ betrayer, and a treacherous brother he was; but he wasn’t the first to salute his brethren with such a kiss as this, when all the while, in his wicked heart, he thirsted for his brother’s blood!!

We know that Cain thirsted for Able’s blood; but did Cain salute his brother with such a kiss??

Well today we are searching for another blood thirsty ‘betrayer’ who we have identified once before, in a previous trivia question. 

This ‘betrayer’ was doubly treacherous, and eventually his bloody deeds did fall upon his hoary head.

He was found guilty, and was executed for killing 2 army captains, during times of peace! 

Now one of these victims/captains was his very own cousin, who our ‘betrayer’ also saluted with a kiss, just before he slaughtered him with his sword!!

Trivia Tuesday – Name That ‘Stone-Thrower!!’

Hey Neighbor!

Are you familiar with the saying, ‘People who live in glass houses should not throw stones?’

Well, the actual meaning of this proverb is, “One should not cause harm to other people, if he is himself vulnerable”

Well today, we are looking for a certain Bible character who was literally found guilty of cursing and throwing stones at a king, during a time when the king was found most vulnerable.

And because this ‘stone-thrower’ did not immediately suffer the consequences of his treachery upon that king, he continued to live on quite comfortably in his ‘glass house’ as if he, himself, was not also vulnerable to be harmed.

Now of course our stone-thrower did not literally live in a glass house, because at this time, the Israelites lived in tents.



But the irony here, is such that our ‘stone-thrower’ did finally meet his fate; but not while he sat or slept behind the security of his glass walls and doors!!

In fact, this stone thrower was actually put to death because he departed from the confines of his home, leaving him in direct violation of the succeeding king’s commands.

You see, this treasonous ‘stone-thrower’ had finally been judged and convicted of his crimes, and was placed under house arrest; but just three years later, he too found himself in a situation of vulnerability.

There was trouble in his home, and two of his rebellious servants had run away; and thus our cursing, stone-thrower hurriedly departed from his house, in order to retrieve his servants from Gath, and get them back onto his estate.

When the king was made aware of the stone-throwers violation of the ‘stay-at-home’ order, he was immediately put to death.

Those very same stones that he had thrown, intending to harm a very vulnerable king, had finally ricocheted, and had made contact upon this ‘stone-throwers’ very own vulnerable head!!

How To Get An Upgrade from God: Try Faith-fullness!!

-AND JOSEPH was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, the captain and chief executioner of the [royal] guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there-
(Genesis 39:1)

Hey Neighbor!

Last Friday, I introduced you to the, ‘Will Jesus Find You Faith-full Series from 2014.

And Here is Part II: Faith-full Joseph!!

And so there was Joseph; the boy with the dream…a vision from God that one day he would be a great man, that others would bow down before.

He had been sold into slavery by his envious brothers, and he’d been stripped of his coat of many colors.

But now he’s in Egypt, living in servitude, amongst foreigners and their foreign gods. The Egyptians did not know The One, True God, The Great ‘I Am!!’

But Joseph knew Him and continued to draw near unto God.

So..now God was doing a new thing in the life of the young boy, Joseph, who had come from a family of means.

Remember, Joseph’s beloved Father, Israel was a very wealthy man, Yet now Joseph had become a slave, in Potiphar’s house.

Here’s Joseph’s Story:

After they loosed his shackles, Potiphar may have positioned Joseph outside, cleaning the horse stables and stalls; but Joseph was faith-full…so The Lord blessed the horses.

Then Potiphar may have promoted Joseph to a the job of ‘house slave,’ where he had him cleaning kitchens and bathrooms…but Joseph was faith-full…so the Lord blessed the health of the whole household…as the conditions had became more sanitary…and thus there were fewer diseases and illnesses amongst the family.

Then Potiphar started to take notice saying, “There’s something special about this boy!”

So now Potiphar upgrades, ‘Faith-Full’ Joseph to the Cook….Then to the Butler…And Potiphar, still catching on…realizes that the ‘God’ that this boy serves, is giving Joseph special favor.

And when this boy steals away after work, Joseph goes into his ‘Secret Place’ to worship… Maybe that place was in the servant’s quarters, or maybe it was in the stables, where Joseph first began!!

But now, Potiphar has no doubt that Joseph’s God is blessing everything Joseph puts his hands to….and is therefore blessing Potiphar and all of his household.

So Potiphar upgrades Joseph again!!

This time, Potiphar places him in the vacancy of “Supervisor” of All of his household, and now Joseph is no longer a slave, but gainfully employed as the ‘Acting, Captain and Chief Executioner of the Royal Guard’ in Egypt.

Why ‘Acting??’

Because, Potiphar has decided to sit back and reap the benefits of having the ‘blessing boy’ in the house. Potiphar basically resigns himself of all of his own duties and responsibilities to Pharaoh..leaving Joseph completely and totally in charge!!

Verse 5 tells us that Potiphar only had concern about what it was that he (Potiphar) wanted to eat…Wow!!

Look at God!!

Although Joseph’s brothers had stripped him of his coat, they couldn’t strip him of his Comforter, God!!

Verse 2 tells us that God was with Joseph all the time, because Joseph was faith-full to God, and Joseph stayed in relationship with God, and He sought after God, through prayer and worship.

Joseph, although separated from home, and all that he was familiar with, continually meditated on God’s words, and consistently believed God for the eventual fulfillment of his dream– by faith.

So when Mrs. Potiphar comes along, Saying, “Joseph, Since You’re in charge of All of my household…Now, I want you to take charge of Me, too!”

Uh-Oh!!

So Sexual Harassment Started in Egypt, Huh??

Joseph was appalled to even have considered such an abomination before God!!

This perverse, and wicked woman, who had no morals…no scruples…and had absolutely no loyalty to her husband, (Joseph’s boss), began harassing Joseph on the job!!

The Bible says that Joseph was a ‘fine-looking’ young man, and Mrs. Potiphar had taken notice of him!!

She was tempting Joseph at the water cooler…but Joseph remained faith-full!!

Then she would conveniently make her way to the servant’s break room, during his lunch hour….but Joseph still remained faith-full!!

Then she showed up at the printer, every time he went to make copies…but Joseph remained more faith-full!!

Mrs. Potiphar was a real stalker…but not for God!! Lol

I can imagine that Joseph had to be very alert, and to keep watch for Mrs. Potiphar’s whereabouts, in attempts to duck and dodge her…but she finally caught him alone..and Mrs. Potiphar tried to seduce Joseph!!

But Joseph shunned her, breaking loose from her grip so quickly, that he left his coat in her hands.

Man!! This brother has a problem keeping his coats!! 🤣

Joseph ran away from her thinking…

How could Mrs. Potiphar expect him to do such an ungrateful and disloyal thing to his Master, who had entrusted his entire household into Joseph’s hands??…

How could she expect him to do such a wicked and unclean thing against his own body and his soul…and most of all, against his God- Who had shown Joseph Great Favor in Egypt??

So Joseph remained faith-full to God, and to his Boss. He resisted the temptation to cheat with Potiphar’s wife. He refused to lie in the face of his master, day after day, while secretly, stealing private moments with Mrs. Potiphar.

But as the story goes…Joseph was falsely accused and convicted of attempted rape… And thrown into the prison.

But God was still with Joseph, even behind the Prison walls, and God still blessed his hands there too…and eventually, Joseph was released from jail.

Now, Lo and Behold, at some point, Potiphar’s Job Position had also became available, and can you guess who had the best skills, abilities, and the most favor to fill that Job Vacancy??

Yes!! It was Joseph!!

And because Joseph remained ‘Ever-Faith-Full,’ to God, Yes!! God Upgraded Joseph!!

Now When Jesus comes back…Will He find You ‘Faith-Full’ on Your job??

If so…God will also bless You with a New Position….’til he eventually rewards you with your Heavenly Upgrade!!

Let Him Upgrade You, Today!!

His master said to him, Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy blessedness) which your master enjoys-
(Matthew 25:21)

Trivia Thursday- Name That Judahite-King!!

– But the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the people of Judah could not drive out; so the Jebusites dwell with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day. (Joshua 15:63)

-But the Benjamites did not drive out the Jebusites who inhabited Jerusalem; the Jebusites dwell with the Benjamites in Jerusalem to this day. (Judges 1:21)

Hey Neighbor!

In the two scriptures above, we see that neither the Judahites, nor the Benjamites were able to completely drive the Jebusites from the ‘promised’ land, that was allotted to them via Joshua.

But Can you Name the ‘Judahite- King’ who did finally overcome these very inhabitants, who had willfully resisted God’s people, and remained as trespassers within their Promised Territory??
