Holy Spirit =Your ā€˜Tag-Team’ Partner!!

-But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me- (John 15:26)

Hey Neighbor!

Here’s another ‘Blast from the Past’ for you!!

This one was written in January 2017 and it’s just perfect for those of you who have made New Year’s Resolutions and are currently in a Loosing Battle!

So, My advise to you is this:

TAG-IN The Holy Spirit!!

He Wants to help you win this Fight!!

I Hope this Helps!!…….

***************************************

I’m doing my best to start this year off right, but it has not been any fun. I was ill for several months in the latter part of 2016 and so my Acupuncturists suspected that I may have a wheat/gluten sensitivity and recommended that I modify my diet, by eliminating those food products from my diet for about 30 days and see if I start to feel better.

We’ll, as of Day 4, I am already feeling much better…that is after I eliminated coffee from my diet, AGAIN!!

I bought my husband the cool new Ninja coffee maker for Christmas and I thought I was a regular brewista, for a few days there. I had been making my husband a caffeinated cup and then I made a decaf for myself, but I just wasn’t able to digest it very well, so I made the difficult decision of adding my tasty morning coffee treat to the dreaded Elimination List...along with sugar!!😩

Well, Although my ears still feel full, and they’re still bugging me in the evening, making it difficult to sleep, I haven’t experienced any dizziness or lightheadedness and my blood pressure has been great…120/80 and lower!!

YAY!! Praise God for His Holy Spirit, as He is my most necessary helper, empowering me to get through these difficult days…teaching me what foods are tolerable for me and giving me the willpower to resist those that aren’t.

What are You planning to eliminate from your diet, or lifestyle for a healthier, happier life??

Is it a trigger food…like my delicious coffee or a longstanding habit like smoking, or maybe your goal is to just drop a few pounds…someone might even want to ‘eliminate’ an individual from your life who has been dragging you down…

Well, whatever the case may be, You are definitely going to need the The Holy Spirit to get You through this thing.

Remember He is Our ā€˜Tag-Team’ Partner in this thing called Life.

He’s there…just outside the ring of Your Soul, with His arms stretched out over the ropes waiting for You to realize that You cannot win this thing all alone.

Can’t you hear him??…cheering you on, and also reminding you that He wants to help!!

He says:

Hey!

Don’t forget Me!!

I’m Your Comforter…ready to bandage you up when life has knocked you around!!

Your counselor…when you need advice!!

Your Helper… cause you can’t do it all by yourself!!

Your Advocate… when you need someone to speak for you!!

Your Intercessor…because I’m praying for You, and seeking Out God’s will for your life!!

Your Strengthener…there to encourage you when your faith falls short!!

Your Standyby…and I’m tired of standing by over here on the other side of this ring!!

Would You Please Tag Me In!!

I Got You and We are definitely going to make it through this thing together!!

Remember,

In the End…We Win!!

Thanks For Stopping By…Until We Meet Again,

God Loves You and So Do I!!

Nuggets of Wealth For Life and Health – Probiotic Rich, Fermented Pickles!!

Hey Neighbor!

Your Health Must Matter Most To You!!

After I posted my fermented tomatoes recipe, My blogger buddy, Wenda http://wendaswindow.wordpress.com/ asked me what I was going to do with my cucumbers, so I decided to share my fermented pickles recipe.

Much like my fermented tomatoes, these are also very rich in probiotics, so they are great for digestion!!

Here is a link to my Fermented tomatoes Recipe, just in case you missed it!!

https://carenrcinesl.wordpress.com/2022/10/05/nuggets-of-wealth-for-life-and-health-probiotic-rich-fermented-tomatoes/

Last year was was my first attempt at growing cucumbers. I bought 2 vines, added some chicken poop and seaweed for fertilizer, and those things were growing everywhere!!

It was crazy!!

I had cucumbers growing up the side of my deck, and one of the more aggressive vines even tried to attach itself to a tree and then begin to grow up there.

My husband kept cutting them and bringing them in, so I went pickling crazy!!

Needless to say, I still have pickles in my basement refrigerator leftover from last year, so I did not actually plant any cucumbers this year…but I still stumbled upon some volunteer cucumbers hidden in a patch…and who knew cucumber vines were so prickly and itchy!!šŸ‘€

Now the first thing to do is to wash them well and be sure to scrub off all those prickly things, then slice off both of the end tips.

I like to half mine and then quarter them into spears.

Now, You can use whatever variation of fresh herbs and seasonings that you like, but the most critical ingredient you will need, is either a black tea bag or a few basil leaves to maintain crispness!!

Here are my ingredients!!

1 Tea bag and or (2-3) bay leaves (for crispy pickles)
2 tablespoons of Real Salt, Himalayan, or Sea Salt (no iodized table salt)
Turmeric
Mustard seed (yellow or brown)
Sliced Onions
Fresh dill
Fresh Ginger
Fresh Garlic (diced, if you like them garlicky)
Pickling spice
Celery seed
Black peppercorns (add red pepper🌶 flakes, if you like your pickles spicy) 🄵

Now, you will want to place your black tea bag into the bottom of your clean mason jar. If you option to use green tea, add 2 green tea bags.

Arrange your spears into your jar first…I like to make layers, so that my jar looks pretty when I’m done. Sometimes, I find that lying my jar on its’ side helps with the arranging.

Now, after all of your ingredients are packed in tightly, pour in your non chlorinated water…filtered or spring water is best.

Fill your jar, as to cover all of your ingredients and then you can weigh them all down with a glass weight. (or a couple of shot glasses)

This will help to insure that all of your ingredients remain underneath the brine…otherwise they could mold.

If you don’t have a glass weight, a nice bunch of fresh dill can be used to help keep the cucumbers from floating up!!

Once again, you will seal your container or twist on your plastic or clean metal canning lid and, please remember to burp your contents daily for the next 2-3 days.

Be mindful of placement…you want to find a countertop area, away from direct heat and/or sunlight. And preferably, your kitchen temp is between 68-72 degrees.

You should start to see bubbles rising inside of your jar after a couple of days….This is a good thing, that means fermentation is happening.

The good bacteria is beginning to eat the sugars from your cucumbers, and are now producing CO2, so once again, don’t forget to release these gasses (or burp) your jar once/day….otherwise…boomšŸ¤ÆšŸ’„

After 2-4 days, try your pickles with a clean fork. If you like them, remove your glass weights and refrigerate them and enjoy.

If you prefer your pickles with a little sweetness, then sweeten them before your refrigerate them. I prefer unbleached organic sugar, but I have also sweetened them with honey as well.

Your pickles will continue to ferment inside of your refrigerator, but at a much slower rate!!

Your fermented pickles are not shelf stable and will begin to grow mold if you fail to refrigerate them after several days.

How to eat them??

You can add them to your salads, slice them and add them to your sandwiches and/or pour your brine into your soups and/or broths.

I even add my pickle juice to my spaghetti saucešŸ˜‹.

If you have other fermenting or pickling ideas, let me know!!

Thanks For Stopping By!!

Nuggets Of Wealth for Life and Health: Focus On the City!!

And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. (Ephesians 6:15)

Hey Neighbor!

Several months ago, a friend of mine, Alonzo Perrin Jr., asked me to participate with his annual, ā€˜Focus on the City – Back to School Event.’

This year’s event was held at The Jackie Joyner-Kersee (JJK) Center, in E.S.L., on August 6, 2022, and it was once again, a great success!!

Now, Alonzo is a ā€˜faith-full’ and cheerful giver in the community, where he established this charitable organization as a memoriam to his dad, Alonzo Perrin Sr., of East St. Louis, IL.,

In addition to honoring both his dad, and his mom, Toni Perrin, Alonzo founded ā€˜Focus on the City’ to ā€˜give-back’ to ā€˜The City’ of East St. Louis!!

A little backstory…

Alonzo and I were both born, raised, and educated in East St. Louis; a mostly impoverished black community in southern Illinois, where we faced off with the enemy daily, and no doubt it was both the Holy Spirit and the power of prayer that equipped us to stand firm-footed, and succeed despite the many deficits and challenges we faced!!

We both now work continuously in ā€˜The City’ to Restore Peace and Pride in Our Community, One Neighborhood at a Time!!

This morning, Alonzo sent me this post from His ā€˜Focus on The City’ Facebook page and I was of course, humbled and elated…both at the same time!!

(Alonzo and I are pictured above, holding the ā€˜Can We Pray For You’ sign)

Alonzo shared the story of our ā€˜Back to School and Prayer’ weekend event quite succinctly, so I won’t attempt to retell it…As I don’t possess that same gift🤣

But I did want to share this Story as Our Nugget of Health and Wealth this Wednesday, because as we begin to crowd the stores to purchase school supplies for our children and grandchildren, and as we begin to equip our children with the readiness for a successful school year, we can’t forget to shod their feet daily with the good news of peace, by praying for their health and safety each and every morning, before they exit our doors to face the enemy!!

I also have to thank my Ever ā€˜faith-full’ and most supportive hubby, Dewitt for coming out to participate!!

Not only did he volunteer to come out and support me, but he also prayed along with me and for me!!

(Dewitt is pictured in the yellow, Hawaiian shirt)

Many Hugs and Kisses to You, Sweetheart!!😘

I will probably write a Wednesday’s Health and Wealth blog for you Re: Hashimoto’s, but for today, here is your oldie!!

***************************************

Did you know that David wrote most of the 150 Psalms??

This was his mental/emotional therapy as he suffered through the greatest trials of his life. Read Psalm 6:6 above again….

Here David describes his own experience with insomnia and great mourning.

Notice how David describes a night, devoid of sleep.

I can imagine that his eyes were red and heavy with bags underneath, because David tells us that he has been awake all night crying, quite intensely.

Of course David’s pillow was not literally soaked, nor was his bed flooded, but David wants us to know that he has had a long, tear-filled night, crying out to God for fear of his wicked enemies.

Well, like David, I needed some mental/emotional therapy also, because I’ve been battling some health issues, and I’ve found myself struggling with my own bouts of insomnia…

For hours and hours, through what seemed like endless night after endless night, my mind would just race like crazy with thoughts of impending doom, until I finally decided to take the Holy Spirit’s advice, and to calm myself, during my own long, worry-filled nights with a Psalm to Lord…so I wrote my own psalm!!

After all, a psalm is simply a poem, only it was written to be sung to the Lord as a hymn.

It is a poem that reveals the emotional intensity of someone’s personal experience with suffering and/or sometimes celebration.

Well, I certainly would have rathered be awake at 3 in the morning celebrating, but unfortunately, my experience was that of suffering…so here is my Psalm!!
*************************************

Your life for mine, the ghost You gave
and my wretched sins, yes You forgave
So that the windows of my soul might see your face,
‘Til then I abide in that secret place
Awaiting the day my eyes behold Your Light,
sitting next to my Father- just there at His right
Grasping tightly to Your word, Lord I still stand
Praying for the mercy of your healing hand
Though sudden death lurks all about
And it’s hard for me to silence the doubt
I’ve questioned your will because of my fear
Still believing You know me and my prayers You hear
I know it’s Not long before Your Love is revealed
And I will shout to the world,
YES, I am healed!!

**************************************

I hope that you were comforted by my Psalm and that it re-stimulates your confidence in God, and reminds You that God is still with You!!

Even in your time of trouble…when God’s voice seems silent, and when it seems God’s face cannot be found, He wants Us to lay our worries and concerns upon Him…not within Ourselves…lest anxiety take root in Our lives.

So, Remember This…As I am also reminded by the Holy Spirit…
*****************************************

You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ – eternal and glorious plans they are! – will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does!!
(1 Peter 5:8)

And Remember This Also,

God LovesšŸ’•You and So Do I!!

  • For who is God except the Lord? Or who is the Rock save our God, The God who girds me with strength and makes my way perfect? He makes my feet like hindsā€œ feet [able to stand firmly or make progress on the dangerous heights of testing and trouble]; He sets me securely upon my high places (Psalm 18:31)

Today I want to share with you this ā€˜visual’ of health, and a scriptural nugget of wealth from my Daughter, Alexandria🤩

šŸ’“Allie’s First Bible Study Lesson!!šŸ’“

Hey Neighbor!

Last week I shared a testimonial about my daughter, Allie, and how the Lord restored my little girl’s health…even when the (allopathic) doctors had given up on her.

Allie was only 3 years old when her health challenges began. satan came after this little girl quite aggressively…and now we can see why!!

He knew that Allie would be boldly reclaiming territory for the Body of Christ!!

Allie is only 20 years old now, and yesterday, The Lord blessed her to share her very first Bible Study Lesson on our church’s Facebook page!!

Now I don’t have a Facebook page either, so no worries…You don’t need to have a facebook page in order to watch!!

Allie titled her message,

ā€˜How to Make The Lord Your Rock!!’

https://m.facebook.com/BethanyColumbiaIL/videos/?ref=page_internal&mt_nav=0

It’s only 23 minutes long…and if you have some time available to watch, I guarantee you will be blessed!

You will want to scroll down until You see Allie’s face…and there you will find Allie’s Lesson!!

More Solution Saturday!!

Hey Neighbor!

Today I have Solutions for Our Trivia Tuesday and Our Trivia Thursday Questions.

I have included the Trivia Questions, as well as This week’s Trophy Winners🤩

*******************************************
Here is Tuesday’s Trivia Question.

******************************************
Now Deborah, a prophetess, the wife of Lappidoth, judged Israel at that time. She sat under the palm tree of Deborah between Ramah and Bethel in the hill country of Ephraim, and the Israelites came up to her for judgment (Judges 4:4)

Now, The Scripture above tells us that Deborah sat underneath the Palm tree in Israel…that was of course her office, where God’s people sought her for wise counsel, because she was God’s spokesperson at that time, as well as ā€˜governor.’

Yes! Deborah sat in the office of both Prophetess and Judge in Israel.

Deborah was Israel’s 4th Judge, and the only woman that served in that ā€˜office,’ from Onthniel to the Prophet, Samuel.

Now, although Deborah ruled as God’s first female Judge in Israel, she was not the first woman to be called God’s Prophetess!!

Indeed there were several women in the Bible, who carried the weight of this ā€˜title.’

In fact, just this week Our Super-Faith Sunday Riddle has revealed for us another devout female spokeswoman for God, who lived in the land of Judah…during the times of the Kings!!

She was The Prophetess, Huldah!!

So back to today’s Trivia Question…

Do you know who served as God’s very first prophetess??

Hint***This devout woman boldly praised God before all of His congregation!!

Can You Name That Prophetess??

*********************************
Answer: Miriam
šŸ†Winner: Chalvonia šŸ‘šŸ‘

http://ministryin.wordpress.com/

Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took a timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and dancing (Exodus 15:20)

Chalvonia: And here I am a student again😃yes…it was fun this morningā€¦šŸ’ƒšŸ½šŸŽ¶šŸ’ƒšŸ½

*****************************************
Here is Thursday’s Trivia Question.

*****************************************
On Wednesday’s I write a health and wellness blog, where I share home remedies and natural ways of treating some of our health concerns and conditions.

In yesterday’s post, I shared how my husband and I struggled to find relief for our daughter, Allie, through traditional medicines…to no avail!!

In fact, we found ourselves, like the woman with the issue of blood, seeking out doctor after doctor, but Allie’s condition only grew worse.

It wasn’t until we got down real low and stretched forth our hands to seek the Lord, first and foremost, that He began to make the crooked paths straight and open up the doors towards her healing and wholeness!

In last week’s Trivia Thursday question, we wanted to know which sickly King received a death sentence from the Lord, via the Prophet Isaiah, but after the King turned and sought the Lord in prayer for his life…God sent the prophet back immediately, with a message of hope, restoration, and a home remedy.

God relented the curse, and extended mercy instead!!

He extended the king’s life for another 15 years.

Answer: That was the good king, Hezekiah.

Now there was another King of Judah who also became very ill, but instead of seeking the Lord in prayer, or calling for the prophet..this king sought after the wisdom and knowledge of his physicians only, and that king died!!

********************************************

Can You Name That King??

***********************************
Answer: King Asa of Judah

šŸ†Winner: Pedro VillarrealšŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘

In the thirty-ninth year of his reign Asa was diseased in his feet–until his disease became very severe; yet in his disease he did not seek the Lord, but relied on the physicians. (2 Chronicles 16:12)

Pedro: 39 years as king! How terrible it was due him that he did not trust the Lord.

Got it, I know I got it!!! šŸŽŠšŸŽ‰šŸ•ŗšŸ•ŗšŸ•ŗ

Trivia Thursday – Name That King!!

And a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years and had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be healed by anyone, Came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment, and immediately her flow of blood ceased. (Luke 8:43)

Nuggets of Wealth for Life and Health – August 3

– Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And [yet] not one of them is forgotten or uncared for in the presence of God. But [even] the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not be struck with fear or seized with alarm; you are of greater worth than many [flocks] of sparrows (Luke 12:6)

Hey Neighbor!

It’s Allie!!

Today is Wednesday, and Here is Your Nugget for this week…August 3, 2022.

****************************************

Today’s nugget will hopefully benefit those who are battling with eczema and alopecia.

****************************************

Last week, I promised you a testimonial on the benefits of Australian Tea Tree Oil – melaleuca.

So today I am gonna share my miraculous tea tree oil testimonial…or at least my eye witness testimonial of how tea tree oil restored hair growth to my baby girl’s balding scalp.

Well…Allie, who is now 20, was only 3 years old when she began to suffer with eczema, which is simply extremely dry patches of skin that become inflamed and excessively itchy.

So of course we took Allie to a dermatologist, who prescribed a steroid based prescription cream for her skin.

Now Allie was also having a terrible scalp issue, often called ā€˜cradle cap,’ so her dermatologist recommended that we also layer the steroid cream onto her scalp as well.

Initially, the prescription helped tremendously and Allie’s skin and hair began to show signs of healing. Now, if you know much about steroid creams, they often clear things up fairly quickly, but with eczema, at some point the dry patches become resistant to the treatment, rendering the cream ineffective…and therefore, the skin condition returns…oftentimes more stubborn than before!!

Well, what was the Dermatologist’s solution at this point??

A stronger prescription, of course!!

We accepted this temporary fix for quite a while, until we realized that the steroid cream had damaged Allie’s scalp, which left her with several bald patches throughout her hair.

So this time, the Dermatologist diagnosed Allie with yet another condition…alopecia!!

My husband and I realized at this point, that we were on the road to nowhere, so instead of accepting more prescription creams from the dermatologist, we decided that it was time to get to the root of the problem, which we had long suspected to be food allergies!!

We found a Naturopath who was also an environmental allergist. He was quickly able to determine that Allie’s skin condition was rooted from allergies to the foods that we had been feeding her, particularly wheat, corn, eggs, soy, etc. etc.

My poor baby was allergic to everything, because she had developed a yeast overgrowth in her gut, (candida) that had leached out from her gut and had permeated her bloodstream…thus the overgrowth of yeast on her skin (eczema) and in her hair (alopecia)!!

So our doctor started Allie on the ā€˜elimination diet,’ which further exposed more food sensitivities/allergies. I will post a link if you want to learn more about the ā€˜elimination diet’ and how it skyrocketed Allie’s road to wellness!!

This is a detailed 4 part Backstory about Allie’s Health Crisis and How God Healed and Restored our Allie!!

Oh my…It was truly a rough, roller coaster ride…but God brought us through it All!!

So back to the treatment of Allie’s scalp…

I had been doing some of my own research, because Allie’s health mattered most to me…and I had read that apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil were good treatments to kill a yeast overgrowth on the scalp, so I began to pour out half of her shampoo (into a separate container) and I refilled the half-empty shampoo bottle with apple cider vinegar…until the bottle was nearly full…then I topped it off with the tea tree oil…maybe 20 drops or so.

Of course, I saved the additional shampoo for later use…but I washed Allie’s hair every night with this mix for about 3-4 weeks, until one day I saw teeny tiny baby hair shoots coming up through her scalp!!

I was amazed!!

How did this happen??

Well, I didn’t realize it at the time, but this hair reveal had been progressing very gradually during our treatment period.

You see, after Allie’s nightly hair washing treatment, I would comb through her hair, and as I began to braid it, I began to notice loose pieces of skin on her scalp…so I would just peel that away. I didn’t know it at the time, but that loose skin was a dead skin layer that had become weak and had separated itself from her scalp!!

When I first saw this happening, I was initially panicked, because I thought Allie was just falling apart…but the tea tree oil/apple cider vinegar mix had been eating through the yeast buildup on her scalp…and as the yeast weakened, her very dry, patchy scalp began to soften up and eventually the layers of dead skin began to pull away…until finally the hair underneath was able to stretch forward!!
