Trivia Thursday- Name That Tribe!!

And he said unto them, I am an hundred and twenty years old this day; I can no more go out and come in: also the LORD hath said unto me, Thou shalt not go over this Jordan (Deuteronomy 31:2)

Hey There Neighbors, and Happy New Year to You All!!

I have been on a much needed hiatus, although I have been both missing and thinking of so many of you here on the blog!!

The Holidays were wonderful, and the kids have returned to school, and all is Well with the Weary’s!!

Thanks so much to those who have reached out in concern, and please know that I am forever endeared that the Lord placed my name on your heart, and that you remembered to pray for lil ol’ me, as I have also been praying for you💕

****************************************

Well in today’s lead scripture, above, we see where God forbade Moses from crossing over the Jordan. Now although Moses remained on the east side of the Jordan, God did give his ‘faith-full’ Servant a sneak peak over onto the west side of the Jordan, just before Moses passed away.

Now thereafter, Joshua succeeded Moses as Israel’s Leader, And because God was with Joshua, just as He had been with Moses, the 12 Tribes did hear and heed unto Joshua’s commands as they successfully crossed over to the west side of the Jordan.

However, some of their wives, their children, and their cattle remained on the sunrise side of the Jordan, where Moses had died.

*******************************************

Whose Wives/children were these, that remained ‘in the land of their possession,’ on the east side of the Jordan?

Can You Name Their (2 1/2) Tribes??

Trivia Thursday – Name That Relative!!

And while He was still speaking, behold, there came a crowd, and the man called Judas, one of the Twelve [apostles], was going before [leading] them. He drew near to Jesus to kiss Him, But Jesus said to him, Judas! Would you betray and deliver up the Son of Man with a kiss? (Luke 22:47)

Hey Neighbor!

Many of us are familiar with the Lead Scripture above, where Judas salutes Jesus with the ‘kiss of betrayal.’

We know that Jesus submitted to the ‘authority’ of the chief priests and their henchmen, permitting them to take him away, because their time (their dark hour) had finally come, wherein they were destined and determined to quickly kill our Lord and Savior!!

Judas was Jesus’ betrayer, and a treacherous brother he was; but he wasn’t the first to salute his brethren with such a kiss as this, when all the while, in his wicked heart, he thirsted for his brother’s blood!!

We know that Cain thirsted for Able’s blood; but did Cain salute his brother with such a kiss??

Well today we are searching for another blood thirsty ‘betrayer’ who we have identified once before, in a previous trivia question.

This ‘betrayer’ was doubly treacherous, and eventually his bloody deeds did fall upon his hoary head.

He was found guilty, and was executed for killing 2 army captains, during times of peace!

Now one of these victims/captains was his very own cousin, who our ‘betrayer’ also saluted with a kiss, just before he slaughtered him with his sword!!

*********************************************

Who was this Betrayer??

And also, Can You Name this ‘betrayed’ Cousin/Captain??

And Finally, Can You Name The Mothers of These 2 Cousins??

Trivia Tuesday – Name That ‘Stone-Thrower!!’

Hey Neighbor!

Are you familiar with the saying, ‘People who live in glass houses should not throw stones?’

Well, the actual meaning of this proverb is, “One should not cause harm to other people, if he is himself vulnerable”

Well today, we are looking for a certain Bible character who was literally found guilty of cursing and throwing stones at a king, during a time when the king was found most vulnerable.

And because this ‘stone-thrower’ did not immediately suffer the consequences of his treachery upon that king, he continued to live on quite comfortably in his ‘glass house’ as if he, himself, was not also vulnerable to be harmed.

Now of course our stone-thrower did not literally live in a glass house, because at this time, the Israelites lived in tents.

But the irony here, is such that our ‘stone-thrower’ did finally meet his fate; but not while he sat or slept behind the security of his glass walls and doors!!

In fact, this stone thrower was actually put to death because he departed from the confines of his home, leaving him in direct violation of the succeeding king’s commands.

You see, this treasonous ‘stone-thrower’ had finally been judged and convicted of his crimes, and was placed under house arrest; but just three years later, he too found himself in a situation of vulnerability.

There was trouble in his home, and two of his rebellious servants had run away; and thus our cursing, stone-thrower hurriedly departed from his house, in order to retrieve his servants from Gath, and get them back onto his estate.

When the king was made aware of the stone-throwers violation of the ‘stay-at-home’ order, he was immediately put to death.

Those very same stones that he had thrown, intending to harm a very vulnerable king, had finally ricocheted, and had made contact upon this ‘stone-throwers’ very own vulnerable head!!

Can You Name This Stone-Thrower??

‘Faith-Full’ Man’s Monday Riddle: Who Was He??

Hey Neighbor!

As we prepare to close-out 2022 and enter into the blessed doors of 2023, I would like to set aside a special day- Monday- to highlight a ‘faith-full’ male character from the Bible.

During much of 2022, we have highlighted so many ‘faith-full’ females from the Bible, and we will continue to do so from ‘time to time’ on Sundays in 2023; but we must also make room for God’s ‘Faith-Full’ Men to shine.

And shine they will…on Monday’s in this blessed New Year to come!!

I have a Sample for You Today: He is Our first CareBibleStudy ‘Faith-Full’ Man for this Monday, December 12, 2022!!

Can You Solve My Riddle??

********************************************

A Nazarite, he was, wearing the ephod, til he was recused and rejected

With horn in hand, he anointed the captain, whom God had selected

Reluctantly, he’d be required to proclaim this same man’s demise; And Yes, he lamented

God’s withdrawal from the man; and his appointment repented

This seer envisioned hope for Israel through the handsome man with much height

But our Sovereign God is equipped with A Spiritual ‘In-sight.’

The Lord said, “Get the heifer, Take up your oil and your horn.”

Enough of this mourning, right now!! Be no longer forlorn

To see not by his own sight, was now this seer’s assignment and aim

Faith-fully, he poured the oil on his neighbor; The one whom God named

It’s Thanksgiving!! – Send up High Praises to God

Let the saints be joyful in glory:
let them sing aloud upon their beds.
Let the high praises of God be in their mouth,
and a twoedged sword in their hand;-
(Psalms 149:5-6)

*****************************************

Hey Neighbor!

We’re still continuing our ‘oldie’ series on, ‘Will Jesus Find You Faith-Full?”

Today’s post was written many years ago. It was Thanksgiving, and I was recovering from the flu!!

There was still pain and weakness on the external woman, but the Spirit of the Lord was very vibrant and faith-fully strong 💪🏾 within!!

Praise God!!

Here is Your Oldie for This Thanksgiving Weekend!!

Enjoy🤩

***************************************

Happy Thanksgiving!!

I found myself singing upon my sick bed last night as I read about Paul and Silas. I came home Tuesday night with a headache and aches and pains after our Bible Study class at the Center. I got into my bed, immediately…hoping that I could take my herbs and sleep it off and be ready to do my grocery shopping on Wednesday…but that didn’t happen. So my daughter, Allie made the grocery list and Hubby took care of the shopping on Wednesday afternoon. Praise God! I am feeling better today…the aches and pains are gone, but the headache still lingers…Pray for Me!

So as I was laying there, in pain….reading about Paul and Silas (Acts 16:25-37)….and how they praised God through their pain…. I opened my mouth in song, like they did in the inner prison.

Paul and Silas had been falsely accused and had been beaten by the Romans, with rods…so terribly that Verse 23 says they received many blows..(somebody lost count.) Then, they were thrown into the lowest part of the prison.

So here they are…in a cold, damp, dark (pitch black) dungeon…locked in stocks. Now I always imagined stocks to be shackles and chains…but Nope! Paul and Silas were bound into a wooden apparatus that locks the feet down at the ankles into a very small opening, as to prevent them from escaping. OUCH!!

Yet, at midnight, when they could have been resting, these “Faith-Full” guys who were…bloody, bruised, and dreadfully sore…and locked down in stocks…started praying.
Then they broke out in song, with something like…
“Let the Church say Amen!”

WOW!! Really??

Now Paul and Silas were not whispering…remember, they were in the inner prison (dungeon) and Verse 25 tells us that the other prisoners could hear them praising, all the way from the dungeon. So Paul and Silas were kicking up some “High Praises!” Wow!!

Paul and Silas prayed and worshipped, loudly till God sent a ‘Great’ Earthquake…shaking the foundations of the prison…opening the prison doors, and loosing all the prisoners from their shackles and stocks.

God had sent Paul and Silas to Rome to Preach the Good News about Jesus Christ, yet the Romans had locked them up to hinder the Word from going forth. But God used this opportunity to save the whole jailhouse! Notice that when the prisoners were loosed, they didn’t break out in a mad escape…The prisoners were in Awe of God and had probably chimed in with the second verse,
“God has Spoken, Let the Church say Amen!”

So as the story goes, the jailer (who had Paul and Silas locked in stocks) was converted and baptized…and Paul and Silas were released from Prison by the magistrates, the next day.

So…When Jesus returns, Will He find You “Faith-Fully” Praising….like Paul and Silas??

Will you press past Your pain and give God His Glory, even when life has dealt you a bad hand??

Will you press past Your pain and give God His Glory, even when your body is broken down and racking with pain??

Psalm 149 says we can cut through the pain with our Praise and our Two-edged sword…that Sword is the Word of God!!

I pray that You will be blessed on This Thanksgiving day as you share this day with Your Family and Friends.

Don’t forget to Give God His Glory Today!!

Let the Family Break out in Song…Sending up A High Praise to Our “Faith-Full” God!!

Till Tomorrow,

God Loves You and So Do I!!

This Too Shall Pass!!

Whatever You Are Going Through- Walk Through It By Faith, and Not By Sight!!

-We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.
(2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

Hey Neighbor!

Sometimes it seems like we’ve become burdened down with more weight than we can carry, but never forget the our God is a Heavy Load-lifter and a Mind-Regulator, and This Too, Shall Pass!!

Here’s Another Oldie-but- a-Goodie!!

*************************************

It’s been said that as We live this life, We will find that We are either;

Going through troubles..

Just coming out of troubles…

Or about to go through troubles…

For those of You going through today, I would like to Encourage You to Walk through it by Faith, and Not By Sight.

Take a Read through 2 Corinthians Chapter 4:

Paul tells Us that When we go through life’s tribulations; deterioration of the family, divorce and bitter separations, mental and emotional breakdown, financial woes, physical illness and pain, etc., If we will walk through it trusting in, and relying on God, then Our suffering is but a temporary, momentary, affliction…

And This Too Shall Pass!!

No!! Our troubles aren’t going to cease whenever we want them to; it’s not our own timing that’s important, but it’s God’s timing.

-But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

(Psalms 31:14-15)

Paul says that this current suffering that we are experiencing, in the natural, will produce great gains for Us spiritually, and eternally.

So although we are experiencing suffering in this fleshly tent, and these bodies that we live in are dying and deteriorating daily, Paul reminds Us that the inner man- the Spirit Man- is being refreshed and renewed daily!!

Paul encourages Us, as he reminds us that although there is trouble all around Us…

As we we walk through with God, He will give Us peace…so we’re not stressed-out.

When we are confused and perplexed, He gives us His grace (his kindness, mercy and favor)…so we’re not left in desperation and despair.

When we’re persecuted and it seems we’re fighting battles on every hand, Praise God we’re never forsaken nor defeated, because He causes Us to triumph over Our enemies.

Even when we are weak in the knees with fear and we fall down…it’s the Truth of God’s written Word that renews our Faith and Encourages Us to Get back up and Press On!!

Sometimes life’s roads appear to be rough, and rocky!!

And Yes!! Sometimes those mountains do look insurmountable, but your troubles won’t last always!!

God will give you hinds’ feet!!

And as you journey through these crooked places, with God’s Word in Hand and His Word hidden in Your Heart, you will make spiritual progress and You will make it out alright!!

By Faith, You will reach the summit – leaving your troubles and your sufferings far behind!!

So Be Encouraged Today!!

This Too Shall Pass!!

Thanks for Stopping By Neighbor,

Trivia Thursday – Name That Disciple!!

But whenever you go into a town and they do not receive and accept and welcome you, go out into its streets and say, Even the dust of your town that clings to our feet we are wiping off against you; yet know and understand this: the kingdom of God has come near you (Luke 10:10)

Hey Neighbor!

All is well!!

And today, I have another Bible Trivia Question for you!!

In the text above, We see where Jesus instructs his disciples to shake the dust (from that city) off of their ‘peace shoes’ as they departed from a city or town where the ‘Good News of Peace’ was not welcomed, nor received.

*******************************************

Who were the first ‘disciples’ of Christ who ‘shook the dust from their feet,’ refusing to even carry forth the dust from such a town of unwelcoming persecutors??

Can You Name These (2) Disciples??

How To Get An Upgrade from God: Try Faith-fullness!!

-AND JOSEPH was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, the captain and chief executioner of the [royal] guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Ishmaelites who had brought him down there-
(Genesis 39:1)

Hey Neighbor!

Last Friday, I introduced you to the, ‘Will Jesus Find You Faith-full Series from 2014.

And Here is Part II: Faith-full Joseph!!

Enjoy🤩

*****************************************

And so there was Joseph; the boy with the dream…a vision from God that one day he would be a great man, that others would bow down before.

He had been sold into slavery by his envious brothers, and he’d been stripped of his coat of many colors.

But now he’s in Egypt, living in servitude, amongst foreigners and their foreign gods. The Egyptians did not know The One, True God, The Great ‘I Am!!’

But Joseph knew Him and continued to draw near unto God.

So..now God was doing a new thing in the life of the young boy, Joseph, who had come from a family of means.

Remember, Joseph’s beloved Father, Israel was a very wealthy man, Yet now Joseph had become a slave, in Potiphar’s house.

Here’s Joseph’s Story:

After they loosed his shackles, Potiphar may have positioned Joseph outside, cleaning the horse stables and stalls; but Joseph was faith-full…so The Lord blessed the horses.

Then Potiphar may have promoted Joseph to a the job of ‘house slave,’ where he had him cleaning kitchens and bathrooms…but Joseph was faith-full…so the Lord blessed the health of the whole household…as the conditions had became more sanitary…and thus there were fewer diseases and illnesses amongst the family.

Then Potiphar started to take notice saying, “There’s something special about this boy!”

So now Potiphar upgrades, ‘Faith-Full’ Joseph to the Cook….Then to the Butler…And Potiphar, still catching on…realizes that the ‘God’ that this boy serves, is giving Joseph special favor.

And when this boy steals away after work, Joseph goes into his ‘Secret Place’ to worship… Maybe that place was in the servant’s quarters, or maybe it was in the stables, where Joseph first began!!

But now, Potiphar has no doubt that Joseph’s God is blessing everything Joseph puts his hands to….and is therefore blessing Potiphar and all of his household.

So Potiphar upgrades Joseph again!!

This time, Potiphar places him in the vacancy of “Supervisor” of All of his household, and now Joseph is no longer a slave, but gainfully employed as the ‘Acting, Captain and Chief Executioner of the Royal Guard’ in Egypt.

Why ‘Acting??’

Because, Potiphar has decided to sit back and reap the benefits of having the ‘blessing boy’ in the house. Potiphar basically resigns himself of all of his own duties and responsibilities to Pharaoh..leaving Joseph completely and totally in charge!!

Verse 5 tells us that Potiphar only had concern about what it was that he (Potiphar) wanted to eat…Wow!!

Look at God!!

Although Joseph’s brothers had stripped him of his coat, they couldn’t strip him of his Comforter, God!!

Verse 2 tells us that God was with Joseph all the time, because Joseph was faith-full to God, and Joseph stayed in relationship with God, and He sought after God, through prayer and worship.

Joseph, although separated from home, and all that he was familiar with, continually meditated on God’s words, and consistently believed God for the eventual fulfillment of his dream– by faith.

So when Mrs. Potiphar comes along, Saying, “Joseph, Since You’re in charge of All of my household…Now, I want you to take charge of Me, too!”

Uh-Oh!!

So Sexual Harassment Started in Egypt, Huh??

Joseph was appalled to even have considered such an abomination before God!!

This perverse, and wicked woman, who had no morals…no scruples…and had absolutely no loyalty to her husband, (Joseph’s boss), began harassing Joseph on the job!!

The Bible says that Joseph was a ‘fine-looking’ young man, and Mrs. Potiphar had taken notice of him!!

She was tempting Joseph at the water cooler…but Joseph remained faith-full!!

Then she would conveniently make her way to the servant’s break room, during his lunch hour….but Joseph still remained faith-full!!

Then she showed up at the printer, every time he went to make copies…but Joseph remained more faith-full!!

Mrs. Potiphar was a real stalker…but not for God!! Lol

I can imagine that Joseph had to be very alert, and to keep watch for Mrs. Potiphar’s whereabouts, in attempts to duck and dodge her…but she finally caught him alone..and Mrs. Potiphar tried to seduce Joseph!!

But Joseph shunned her, breaking loose from her grip so quickly, that he left his coat in her hands.

Man!! This brother has a problem keeping his coats!! 🤣

Joseph ran away from her thinking…

How could Mrs. Potiphar expect him to do such an ungrateful and disloyal thing to his Master, who had entrusted his entire household into Joseph’s hands??…

How could she expect him to do such a wicked and unclean thing against his own body and his soul…and most of all, against his God- Who had shown Joseph Great Favor in Egypt??

So Joseph remained faith-full to God, and to his Boss. He resisted the temptation to cheat with Potiphar’s wife. He refused to lie in the face of his master, day after day, while secretly, stealing private moments with Mrs. Potiphar.

But as the story goes…Joseph was falsely accused and convicted of attempted rape… And thrown into the prison.

But God was still with Joseph, even behind the Prison walls, and God still blessed his hands there too…and eventually, Joseph was released from jail.

Now, Lo and Behold, at some point, Potiphar’s Job Position had also became available, and can you guess who had the best skills, abilities, and the most favor to fill that Job Vacancy??

Yes!! It was Joseph!!

And because Joseph remained ‘Ever-Faith-Full,’ to God, Yes!! God Upgraded Joseph!!

Now When Jesus comes back…Will He find You ‘Faith-Full’ on Your job??

If so…God will also bless You with a New Position….’til he eventually rewards you with your Heavenly Upgrade!!

Let Him Upgrade You, Today!!

His master said to him, Well done, you upright (honorable, admirable) and faithful servant! You have been faithful and trustworthy over a little; I will put you in charge of much. Enter into and share the joy blessedness) which your master enjoys-
(Matthew 25:21)

Til Tomorrow….When We will discuss the ‘Faith-Fullness’ of
Paul and Silas – In Prison

Trivia Thursday- Name That Judahite-King!!

– But the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the people of Judah could not drive out; so the Jebusites dwell with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day. (Joshua 15:63)

-But the Benjamites did not drive out the Jebusites who inhabited Jerusalem; the Jebusites dwell with the Benjamites in Jerusalem to this day. (Judges 1:21)

Hey Neighbor!

In the two scriptures above, we see that neither the Judahites, nor the Benjamites were able to completely drive the Jebusites from the ‘promised’ land, that was allotted to them via Joshua.

********************************************

But Can you Name the ‘Judahite- King’ who did finally overcome these very inhabitants, who had willfully resisted God’s people, and remained as trespassers within their Promised Territory??
