Holy Spirit =Your ‘Tag-Team’ Partner!!

-But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me- (John 15:26)

Hey Neighbor!

Here’s another ‘Blast from the Past’ for you!!

This one was written in January 2017 and it’s just perfect for those of you who have made New Year’s Resolutions and are currently in a Loosing Battle!

So, My advise to you is this:

TAG-IN The Holy Spirit!!

He Wants to help you win this Fight!!

I Hope this Helps!!…….

***************************************

I’m doing my best to start this year off right, but it has not been any fun. I was ill for several months in the latter part of 2016 and so my Acupuncturists suspected that I may have a wheat/gluten sensitivity and recommended that I modify my diet, by eliminating those food products from my diet for about 30 days and see if I start to feel better.

We’ll, as of Day 4, I am already feeling much better…that is after I eliminated coffee from my diet, AGAIN!!

I bought my husband the cool new Ninja coffee maker for Christmas and I thought I was a regular brewista, for a few days there. I had been making my husband a caffeinated cup and then I made a decaf for myself, but I just wasn’t able to digest it very well, so I made the difficult decision of adding my tasty morning coffee treat to the dreaded Elimination List...along with sugar!!😩

Well, Although my ears still feel full, and they’re still bugging me in the evening, making it difficult to sleep, I haven’t experienced any dizziness or lightheadedness and my blood pressure has been great…120/80 and lower!!

YAY!! Praise God for His Holy Spirit, as He is my most necessary helper, empowering me to get through these difficult days…teaching me what foods are tolerable for me and giving me the willpower to resist those that aren’t.

What are You planning to eliminate from your diet, or lifestyle for a healthier, happier life??

Is it a trigger food…like my delicious coffee or a longstanding habit like smoking, or maybe your goal is to just drop a few pounds…someone might even want to ‘eliminate’ an individual from your life who has been dragging you down…

Well, whatever the case may be, You are definitely going to need the The Holy Spirit to get You through this thing.

Remember He is Our ‘Tag-Team’ Partner in this thing called Life.

He’s there…just outside the ring of Your Soul, with His arms stretched out over the ropes waiting for You to realize that You cannot win this thing all alone.

Can’t you hear him??…cheering you on, and also reminding you that He wants to help!!

He says:

Hey!

Don’t forget Me!!

I’m Your Comforter…ready to bandage you up when life has knocked you around!!

Your counselor…when you need advice!!

Your Helper… cause you can’t do it all by yourself!!

Your Advocate… when you need someone to speak for you!!

Your Intercessor…because I’m praying for You, and seeking Out God’s will for your life!!

Your Strengthener…there to encourage you when your faith falls short!!

Your Standyby…and I’m tired of standing by over here on the other side of this ring!!

Would You Please Tag Me In!!

I Got You and We are definitely going to make it through this thing together!!

Remember,

In the End…We Win!!

Thanks For Stopping By…Until We Meet Again,

God Loves You and So Do I!!

The Syrophoenician Woman – Miraculous Morsels from The Table of Jesus!!

Instead, at once, a woman whose little daughter had (was under the control of) an unclean spirit heard about Him and came and flung herself down at His feet. Now the woman was a Greek (Gentile), a Syrophoenician by nationality. And she kept begging Him to drive the demon out of her little daughter.  (Mark 7:26)

Hey Neighbor!

She was a Canaanite; a pagan, and very likely an idol worshipping woman from the area of Tyre and Sidon, that is where Jezebel was trained up in her baal worship!!

Well this woman was very hungry and the pangs within her were unbearable!!

For she was agonized and emotionally distraught about her little girl, who had been possessed, and tormented by a demon!!

She had no choice but to depart from her little child, leaving her safe in the care of others, while she went in search for food!!

Was she literally searching for food??

No!!

The Syrophoenician woman was not literally, nor physically starved, but she was starved spiritually, and she found herself utterly destitute without a Savior!!

She had heard about Jesus, and she believed that He could cast the demon out of her little daughter, and make her whole once again.

And much like the woman with the Issue of Blood, this woman was determined to find Jesus!!

You see, she was fed-up with sin and idolatry, for none of her futile idols had brought her forth any sustenance, nor relief!!

Now when she had finally located Jesus, at one of the neighboring (Canaanite) homes, she approached him with boldness, although she realized that she was a sinner, unworthy to even draw near to Him…she proclaimed and identified him as the Promised Messiah!!

Now, remember that many times after Jesus had privately healed someone, he prevented the man or woman from public identifying him as the Messiah, but here…in a land outside of Israel…this woman wad openly confessing that Jesus was truly the son of God!!

Where in contrast, many from Jesus’ own family and from his own tribe, and even the religious rulers in Israel had despised and rejected Jesus, and some even pursued Jesus, in attempts to kill him.

But this spiritually starved mother, had made this bold proclamation before all who were in the house, but Jesus ignored her!!

What??

  • O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is miserably and distressingly and cruelly possessed by a demon! But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, Send her away, for she is crying out after us. (Matthew 15:22-23)

Even Jesus’ disciples began to behave badly, as they were very much annoyed by this woman’s persistent cries. In fact, they were pleading with Jesus to put her out and send her away.

Then suddenly, Jesus spoke!!

-He answered, I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. But she came and, kneeling, worshiped Him and kept praying, Lord, help me (Mat 15:24)

This woman collapsed before Jesus, crying out:

HELP ME LORD!!

HELP ME LORD!!

-And she kept begging Him to drive the demon out of her little daughter. (Mark 7:26)

She was now appealing to Jesus out of her fervent desperation!!

She didn’t care what the disciples were saying about her, neither was she afraid of their faces!!

She looked beyond the tears in her eyes, at the Merciful, Loving, and Kind face of Jesus, only!!

She knew that only Jesus possessed the Heart of God, and the Willingness of A Savior, to spare her but mere crumbs of mercy!!

Jesus’ response was:

-And He answered, It is not right (proper, becoming, or fair) to take the children“s bread and throw it to the little dogs. (Mat 15:26)

At this retort, many of us would have gotten up abruptly, and would’ve walked away, highly offended!!

Did Jesus just call her a dog; referring to her race??

Well, at this point, race was not an issue for this woman of faith. She replied to Jesus with a uncommon spirit of humbleness, where she conveyed her perceived understanding of Jesus’ answer.

You see, as a mother herself, the Syrophoenician woman realized, that no loving mother, whether Israelite or Canaanite, would go through all the effort of preparing a meal for her beloved children…just to serve it to the dogs!!

Can you imagine…as one’s children sat anxiously, at the dinner table, awaiting their sustenance, a mother would just callously feed her children’s meal to the house pets underneath their table??

She agreed with Jesus!!

Yes!! That was unfair!!

Still, somehow this woman understood that Jesus had come into the world seeking to find his own lost sheep!!

They had gotten separated from the sheepfold, and Jesus, having already secured the 99, had come come seeking that one that was lost!!

She realized that Jesus was conveying the truth, that the Canaanites were not His Sheep…being that they were not the sons and daughters of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob!!

Indeed she realized that she was not the one that had departed from his sheepfold, but she was willing to be his welp, if it meant that she could dwell beneath his table!!

She was willing to beg, like Lazarus did, as he kneeled underneath the rich man’s table!!

She was willing to abide and stay there with Jesus, even while the other little dogs licked at her sores!!

Even this would provide her much more relief…than what she had attained from her idol worship!!

If only Jesus would let her come into the house but for a moment!!

She decided that she would be more like a hound dog, who had aggressively sniffed out her prey!!

She sniffed and sniffed until she had found Jesus…even in his hiding place!!

-And Jesus arose and went away from there to the region of Tyre and Sidon. And He went into a house and did not want anyone to know [that He was there]; but it was not possible for Him to be hidden [from public notice]. (Mk 7:24)

She was now hungrily scratching at the door, and begging to get inside!!

Of course she did not expect Jesus to welcome her into his sheepfold, nor make her equal to his chosen ones.

She just needed Him to let some of his miraculous morsels of mercy fall upon her, as she begged beneath his table!!

  • She said, Yes, Lord, yet even the little pups (little whelps) eat the crumbs that fall from their [young] masters“ table. Then Jesus answered her, O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you wish. And her daughter was cured from that moment (Mat 15:27)

What an amazing story of Faith!!

The Woman with the Issue of Blood 🩸

  • And when the men of that place had knowledge of him, they sent out into all that country round about, and brought unto him all that were diseased; And besought him that they might only touch the hem of his garment: and as many as touched were made perfectly whole (Matthew 14:35)

Hey Neighbor!

She had made up her mind!!

Today was the day!!

She was going out to find Jesus!!

And why not??

For 12 long years she had sought out every wonder-working physician that she could find…no matter the distance, nor the cost!!

She had purchased every potion, swallowed every tonic, and taken ever tincture that they had prescribed for her!!

She had popped every pill with hopes that tomorrow morning, she might awaken to find that one of those miracle drugs or experimental vaccines had finally worked!!

But now that she had not a penny left to give to another physician…

– And there was a woman who had had a flow of blood for twelve years, And who had endured much suffering under [the hands of] many physicians and had spent all that she had, and was no better but instead grew worse (Mark 5:25)

…and the money was all gone, the doctors had put away their prescription pads, and were even refusing to receive this woman’s phone calls!!

This woman was still very sick, extremely discouraged, and living in utter despair…but yet she kept hearing something in her spirit saying…

If I can just reach the hem of His garment!!

If I can just reach the hem of His garment!!

And by Faith, she was able to utter the words…

‘So Be It!!’

She quickly dressed that morning, because she had heard that Jesus was passing through today.

And although she was ritually ‘unclean’ and was required by the law to remain separated from the community during her extended ‘impurity,’ she could no longer bear the distressing suffering from this issue!!

And if a woman have an issue of her blood many days out of the time of her separation, or if it run beyond the time of her separation; all the days of the issue of her uncleanness shall be as the days of her separation: she shall be unclean. (Leviticus 15:25)

Her plan was to somehow conceal herself, as she blended in with the crowd…for great multitudes of people were gathering, in wait for Jesus to pass this way toward Jairus’ house.

Of course she realized that she could not fall at Jesus’ feet, from the forefront of the crowd, like this wealthy ruler (Jairus) had done, as he begged Jesus to follow him home to heal his sick little girl!!

So instead she decided to trail behind Jesus, and stealthily, inch closer and closer to him while Jesus was en route…for she had no expectation that Jesus would come to her home, because her beds, her chairs, and everything that she had sat upon inside of her home had continually remained ‘unclean’ for 12 years!!

She had missed out on times of refreshing and atonement for her sins…for she could not partake of the passover feast, but still she believed that Jesus was God’s son…The Messiah, and The Lamb of God who could atone for all sin!!

And still she believed that His blood, though not yet poured out for her, could spare her from eternal death and damnation!!

And as she continued to inch closer and closer to Jesus, she kept on saying…

If I can just reach the hem of his garment, I shall be restored to health!!

If I can just reach the hem of his garment, I shall be restored to health!!

In her spirit, she played this same soundtrack over and over again.. on repeat, until she had slipped in close enough to stretch forth her fingertips, where she finally touched just one of the tassels that hung beneath Jesus’ garment!!

And Yes!!

Instantly, she was cured!!

Yes Indeed!! The very same woman who Dr. Luke said ‘could not be cured!!’

  • And a woman who had suffered from a flow of blood for twelve years and had spent all her living upon physicians, and could not be healed by anyone, Came up behind Him and touched the fringe of His garment, and immediately her flow of blood ceased (Luke 8:43)

The flow of blood had ceased from within her, along with all of it’s ill effects on her wearied flesh!!

What so many physicians had claimed they could do for her during her many office visits…where she sat waiting, hour upon hour, had been miraculously done for her, in just those few moments with Jesus!!

And now, just when she had planned to make her escape, having secretly attained the healing that she had come for, she heard the voice of Jesus cry out…Who touched Me??’

The disciples were confounded because the crowd was so massive, that everybody was touching everybody else…and everybody was pressing in upon Jesus, nearly to the point of suffocating Him!!

  • Who touched My clothes? And the disciples kept saying to Him, You see the crowd pressing hard around You from all sides, and You ask, Who touched Me? Still He kept looking around to see her who had done it. (Mk 5:32)

One after the other, the faceless voices within the crowd began to fearfully utter their vehement denials!!

IT WASN’T ME!!

NO! NOT ME!!

I DIDN’T DO IT, LORD!!

Until finally, Jesus caught the woman’s eye and was able to attach a Face to this resounding Faith!!

This woman’s faith had drawn forth a surge of healing virtue from Jesus that had not been tapped into by any of those that had kneeled at his feet, nor those that were pressed against him, nor any of the others who Jesus had previously laid hands on!!

But this woman who had but touched Jesus’ clothes…and not his flesh… had been physically made whole by her spiritual belief that Jesus was, by Faith, The Sacrificial Lamb of God, whose blood was posted over the doorpost of her heart, ever-rebuking the devourer from continuing to destroy her flesh!!

She was like Sarah, who by Faith received physical power to conceive her son and received her miracle child at the age of 89!

This was the kind of Faith that stirred this woman up that morning, drawing her nearer, and nearer to Jesus!!

And because Jesus was pleased and satisfied by her Faith, and her diligent belief that He was the earthly representation of God’s Power, present with us….for but a moment, Jesus rewarded this woman and made her whole!!

  • And He said to her, Daughter, your faith (your trust and confidence in Me, springing from faith in God) has restored you to health. Go in (into) peace and be continually healed and freed from your [distressing bodily] disease. (Mark 5:34)

Rizpah Pitched Her Tent on the Rock of Hope!!

Therefore my heart rejoiced and my tongue exulted exceedingly; moreover, my flesh also will dwell in hope [will encamp, pitch its tent, and dwell in hope  For You will not abandon my soul, leaving it helpless in Hades (the state of departed spirits), nor let Your Holy One know decay or see destruction [of the body after death].

(Acts 2:26-27)

Hey Neighbor!

We meet Rizpah in 2 Samuel 3:7, where she is falsely accused of fornication. She had lived in the palace, as King Saul’s concubine, prior to his death, but now the grapevine has linked her to a relationship with Abner, Israel’s Commander of the Army.

We can imagine that Rizpah’s name was not well spoken of in the palace.

No…honor had not been bestowed upon her…like that of a widowed wife, left to mourn her deceased husband and king.

Rizpah had not been given a position of authority, like the ‘queen mom,’ or the mother to the king’s reigning son.

Now, although Rizpah had born Saul sons, her two sons were not rightful heirs to the throne.

Rizpah was but a widowed concubine, spoken about in rumors and conjecture.  But God would use this woman, and the attacks upon her name, for her good, and also for the good of the kingdom.

God would take this ‘palace’ gossip and use it rent the kingdom from Saul’s son Ishbosheth, and He would further cause it to unite the two warring kingdoms under David, His anointed.

Now back to this gossip in the palace…

Saul’s son, Ishbosheth had assumed the throne after Saul and his brother, Jonathan’s death.

Now Having heard the gossip in the palace, Ishbosheth confronted Abner, who was quite offended after having shown much love and devotion to the house of Saul for so many years.

In his offense, Abner withdrew his support from Ishbosheth, and vowed to go over to David and translate or to transfer the entirety of the kingdom into the hands of David, who currently sat on the throne in Hebron.

I’m sure these rumors and innuendo were hurtful to Rizpah, but God used these things for the greater good of Rizpah and for all of Israel.

Now we don’t hear anything more about Rizphah until 2 Samuel 21:8, where once again God uses Rizpah and her two sons (as a sacrifice) to bring complete closure to Saul’s bloody reign, and to atone for Saul’s transgressions against the Lord.

Now Rizpah’s name and her reputation had previously been attacked within the palace, but now there was an assault upon the names and the lives of her two children.

Sadly, Rizpah’s two sons were taken and executed, because they were the surviving male descendants of Saul.

Armoni and Mephibosheth were King Saul’s only two remaining sons, as Ishbosheth had recently been ruthlessly slain inside the palace.

What could Rizpah have said or done when King David came to take away her sons??

She had been but a widowed concubine, but now she would be both widowed and left childless!!

Why had the king come for her sons??

Had David come in violence, to remove any future threats to the surety of his throne??

No, of course not!!

You see, God was displeased with Israel and his hand had been heavy upon His chosen people for three years.

In His wrath, God had brought famine and drought upon the land, and it seemed that He would not be appeased until the blood of treason was washed from the land!!

Who was the traitor??

David inquired of the Lord…and God said it was Saul!!

Saul had treacherously defied a peace treaty established before the Lord, between Joshua and the Gibeonites, a remnant of the Amorites.

David had gone forward offering gold and silver, in attempts to atone for Israel’s trespass upon the Gibeonites, but they refused, and would not accept meaningless tokens from the Bloody House of Saul!!

The Gibeonites proposed Life for Life and Blood for Blood!!

You see, Saul had attempted to wipe out and/or annihilate all of the Gibeonites from the land of Israel, in direct opposition to Joshua’s peace agreement.

Now David, as king and ambassador was required to restore peace amongst the people in the land, so he agreed to the terms laid out by the Gibeonites.

Therefore, David delivered up Rizpah’s two sons, Armoni and Mephibosheth, (not Jonathan’s son) along with five of Saul’s grandsons, born of his daughter, Merab!!

These seven male descendants of Saul hung accursed, like criminals at the beginning of the barley harvest, and so they would continue to hang until the Lord’s anger was appeased with a sign of rain!!

Where was Merab, Saul’s daughter and mother to Saul’s five grandsons??

We are not told!!

But we are told that Rizpah humbly pitched her tent before the Lord upon the mountain, as she watched and waited for the rain!!

In her grief, Rizpah humbly spread out her sackcloth upon the rocks, from the very day her sons were hung, until the day God’s anger relented!!

Rizpah bore the suffocating winds, the oppressive heat, and the blazing sun, day after day…

She fought against sleep, exhaustion, and suppressed her fear of the darkness, at night…

She fought off the birds of the air, and the beasts of the field, making every attempt to prevent these scavengers from eating and further defiling the flesh and remains of her sons.

All the while, Rizpah was praying, watching, waiting, and believing that the Lord would send cleansing rain to wash away, and remove the stains of dishonor that had fallen upon her sons in death.

When Rizpah’s name was mentioned in the palace, and David was told the tale of Rizpah’s courage, David’s heart was moved by this grieving mother’s love and devotion to her deceased sons!!

Rizpah had gained the respect of the king and David further honored Rizpah by gathering up the bones of both Saul and his Beloved friend, Jonathan…bringing together all of the remains of Saul and all of Saul’s deceased heirs, inclusive of the concubine’s two sons, Armoni and Mephibosheth.

David honored these two king’s sons with an honorable burial, in Saul’s ancestral tomb in the Land of Benjamin.

At Last, God’s anger was appeased and the three year famine had come to an end!!

And not only did God lift the curse from upon the land, but He also removed the curse from Rizpah’s sons in death, burying them with honor, like the rightful heirs of a king!!

God accepted Rizpah’s sacrifice, as she pitched her tent on the rock of hope, waiting and believing that God, in his great mercy, would send both rain and answers to his people’s prayers in Israel once again!!

Back to my home, where his rest had derived

Slept my lifeless beloved, whom by noon had been slain

Super-Faith Sunday Answer: Hannah!!

Hey Neighbor!

Does God hear and honor our heart prayers?? -These are mental prayers that are inaudible-

I believe that He Does!!

Let’s Look at ‘Faith-full’ Hannah’s Prayer.

*******************************************

When we read the book of 1 Samuel, Chapters 1 and 2, we meet Hannah. Hannah was the childless wife of a Levite, named Elkanah.

Now Elkanah loved his wife dearly, but he took a second woman to wife, named Peninnah, because Hannah could bear him no children. Now Peninnah was both fertile and fruitful, bearing Elkanah sons and daughters; however she was not the adored wife.

She was envious of Elkanah’s love and adoration for Hannah and therefore despised and continually, taunted Hannah .

Now Hannah’s soul grew bitterly sorrowful, as she suffered the incessant provoking by her rival. So, Hannah brought her concerns before the Lord. She fervently, poured out her soul before The Lord in prayer.

Her inaudible, heart prayers were mixed with many, many tears, as she made her petitions known unto The Lord…asking Him to grant her a son.

Although Eli, the high priest, had mistakingly believed Hannah to be drunk, because she appeared to be talking to herself instead of praying (Eli could hear no utterance), he blessed her and she went away in peace and with a renewed hope (confident expectation).

Now, as the story goes on, The Lord remembers Hannah and in less than one year, she gives birth to a male-child. She names him Samuel…as his name means, “Asked of God.”

So Once Again…YES! I do believe that God hears and honors our heart prayers. Hannah asked God, and by faith, she received.

God heard Hannah’s heart prayer and granted her petition.

*********************************************

The Lord is waiting to answer your prayer, Today… So whether you are at work, driving in your car, laying down in your bed, or even sitting in God’s house (the Church), God is waiting to hear from You!!

Your prayer need not be loud, long, nor eloquent; just fervent and faith filled.

So…Go Ahead and Ask…in Jesus’ Name and I dare You to Expect and Believe!!

As Always…

God’s ‘Faith-full’ Daughter – Miriam!!

  • NOW [Amram] a man of the house of Levi [the priestly tribe] went and took as his wife [Jochebed] a daughter of Levi. And the woman became pregnant and bore a son; and when she saw that he was [exceedingly] beautiful, she hid him three months (Ex 2:1)

Hey Neighbor!

Today is Friday, April 29th and It’s My Birthday!!

Today I am blessed by the Lord to have turned 49 years old. 🥳

Thank You Jesus!!🙏🏾

I am so grateful for one more day to bask in God’s glorious grace and His enduring mercies!!

Now, Today I also have Your Super- Faith Sunday Answer: Who Is She??

She is Miriam!!

**************************************

She is Moses’ older sister…and she was just a little girl when Moses’ mother, Jochebed hid Moses in a basket amongst the rushes by the brink of the Nile.

Scripture gives us very little background about Miriam in Exodus 2, but it does reveal her dedication and concern for her little brother, Moses.

Now can you imagine being present at a time like this??

Your infant sibling’s life has just been spared and preserved by one of God’s ‘faith-full’ midwives…

Remember, Shiprah and Puah feared and revered God and refused to carry out Pharoah’s live-abortion edict from the birthing stool!!

Now when this evil plan failed, Pharaoh decided to proceed with a more evil genocidal edict; killing all the male Hebrew children on site.

  • Then Pharaoh charged all his people, saying, Every son born [to the Hebrews] you shall cast into the river [Nile], but every daughter you shall allow to live (Exodus 1:22)

This is where we first meet Miriam, at the Nile River – where she is watching and waiting to see what is to become of her baby brother Moses, who is in the papyrus basket.

No!!

Scripture does not give us very much insight into the heart and thoughts of this little girl- but there is a clear indication that she loves Moses and like most children, she regretted seeing her family torn apart by Pharaoh’s evil edict.

So we find ‘Faith-full’ Miriam present and – on the scene as her baby brother is rescued from the Nile by Pharaoh’s daughter!

Wow!

Look at that – God has sent the daughter of the Hebrew’s persecutor to deliver Moses – who would someday become the deliverer of the Hebrew people!!

God had sent Pharoah’s daughter as his Lifeguard to rescue him from the River and to rescind her father’s death sentence against this man child’s life.

When Miriam saw Pharoah’s daughter holding her brother, the spirit of the Lord must have caused her to spring into action with information, provision, and resources.

This little girl spoke up quickly – preserving her family…

‘Faith-fully’ recommending the child’s own mother to serve as his nurse, unbeknownst to Pharaoh’s daughter.

Miriam quickly ran to retrieve her own mother to come and receive Moses from the hands of Pharoah’s daughter; reuniting mother and son, and restoring the family unit, and ultimately removing the threat against Moses’ life!!

No longer would Jochebed be forced to hide and to hush her sons cries!!

No longer would Jochebed nurse her son in fear!!

No longer would should she lay awake at night, worrying and anticipating a thud at the door; as Egyptian soldiers break-in to raid her home and snatch her baby boy from the safety of her arms!!

Any threat to or against the life of this man child, Moses, would now be struck down by Pharoah- himself!!

God is ALWAYS FAITHFUL!!

Not only has God returned Moses to his own mother’s bosom, but He has also caused the Egyptian armies who sought his life to now serve as Moses’ very own bodyguards , protecting and securing the doors @ Amram’s House!!

And for the Double-Bonus Round…

God has even caused and required Pharaoh to provide Jochebed with compensation to care for, and to nurse her very own son!!

Amazing!!

Is there anything too hard or too wonderful for Our Lord??

Super- Faith Sunday Challenge 4/24 – Who Is She??

Hey Neighbor!

Today is Sunday, 4/24/2022 and for Us…

It’s another Super-Faith Sunday, where each Sunday, we feature one of the ‘faith-full’ females from the Bible.

Today we are in Exodus, with a ‘faith-full’ young girl, hoping and praying that God would rescue and spare the life of her little brother, who had been born into a time when a man child was seen as a threat; and therefore a evil millstone had been placed about his neck.

Here is Her Story.

****************************************

Month after month she had helped her mother keep the child’s cries concealed. She was dutiful and obedient in every way to help keep her little brother quiet and content – and unnoticed!!

You see, her baby brother was an unwanted child.

Not unwanted by her mother and father, for he was indeed a beautiful baby, and her mother had adored him instantly!

Not unwanted by her, nor her other (older) brother, because they were both ecstatic about the arrival of their baby brother.

But this child was unwanted by the government!!

In fact, many of the expectant mothers were worried sick, having heard rumors that the midwives had partnered with the government to injure and kill the Israelite newborns at the birthing stool.

She remembered watching Shiprah so closely, when her mother’s time to deliver the child had come.

Her mother was in great pain, but instead of holding the cool towel to her mother’s forehead, she seemed paralyzed, she was unable to take her eyes off the midwife.

She watched as Miss Shiprah’s eyes filled with tears. She noticed how intently the woman stared at the newborn…she saw how the midwife studied the infant…she saw her reluctance and noticed her long hesitation, before she had finally cut the male child’s umbilical cord.

They had successfully hidden her brother now for 3 months, but today her mother seemed very sad and she was behaving very strangely toward the child.

She watched her mother wrap the child up and put him in a basket. How perfectly content her baby brother seemed, as he lay inside the basket…

It was obviously a difficult day for her mother…

Her head was hung so low, and she heard her mother’s repetitive sighs and tearful groaning. Her mother left with the baby in the basket, slowly closing the door behind her…

But she secretly followed behind her mom, watching her and pondering…

Why was her mother in such despair??

Why had she hidden her brother in this strange basket??

And why was she taking them both toward the river??

Again she watched her intently, but from afar.

She needed to see what her mother had intended with that basket, and most of all, she wanted to see what would become of her beautiful baby brother.

She watched as her mothers fingers released the basket, and as the downstream current caught hold of it – and now he was off and away – down the Nile River!!

She followed him from the shoreline as the basket progressed downstream.

She felt her little heart pounding in her chest, as she looked all about for crocodiles and other predatory animals…but what could she do??

She listened for his cries, as she continued to watch and follow him.

Still walking along the shoreline, sometimes running alongside, but all the while praying that no evil would befall her beautiful little brother.

What else could she do for him now??

She was just a little child!!

Only God could save her baby brother now!!

Who Is She??
