The ‘We-Stories’ Remain in Our Hearts!!

–And the [threshing] floors shall be full of grain and the vats shall overflow with juice [of the grape] and oil. And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten–the hopping locust, the stripping locust, and and the crawling locust, My great army which I sent among you.-
(Joel 2:24-25)

Hey Neighbor!

Pictured above, is a photo of my brother Tony, and Yours truly.

Tony had just graduated from basic training and our entire family drove up to Chicago to celebrate and support him.

It was another great day to add to our ‘We-stories.’

What is a ‘We- story?’

Well, I tend to create words sometimes, if you haven’t caught on to that yet!!šŸ˜‚

Let me try to break it down…

Well, first of all, it’s a plural ‘made-up’ word…not like your singular ‘His-story’ or ‘Her-story.’

And Tony and I had tons of we-stories, because he and I were really close, as kids!! We weren’t allowed to play with the neighbors’ kids, so We were each other’s playmate.

We played, fought, and made-up and played and fought…and so on…It was greatšŸ’•

So, when the Lord showed me that Tony and I had those precious ‘we-stories,’ together, from our childhood…and that they could never be taken away, because they would forever remain in my heart…I decided to share it…

Hopefully this story will help someone who is mourning or grieving, due to the separation from, and the difficult loss of their loved-one.

Here is another ‘oldie’ about Tony, and myself…from March 2015.

******************************************

First, I want to say ThankYou!!…for Your Prayers and Condolences.

Losing my Brother has certainly been different than losing my Dad 14 years ago.

I didn’t realize how much of my own identity was wrapped up in being Tony’s ‘little sister.’ I think I lost a little bit of Myself…in loosing him.

Don’t get me wrong…I know that My identity in Christ has not changed…

I am still going to heaven- but ONLY- because Jesus died for Me, and for My brother…saving Our sin-sick Souls.

I will just have to wait until I see my brother, and childhood friend again…in heaven, in order to laugh with him and discuss another…

Hey! Do you Remember when ‘WE……Story.’

And Yes!!

Our ‘WE…Stories’ remain alive, in my heart…but the other participant…the other half of my ‘WE’ Story is gone…and because nobody else was there…together with Us…in that moment…No other person in this world, will ever be personally acquainted with our ‘We…Stories.’

Wow!! Tony and I lost so much time, walking in unforgivenessā€¼ļø

How is it that we can spend so much of Our lives ‘mad’ at Somebody…for whatever reason…

Remembering everything that He/She did to Offend Us.

We willingly, get into agreement with satan and find ourselves open to any and all of his reasonings, theories, and justifications for continuing that feud…and for adding fuel to that fire!!

And yet when that person has passed on…Suddenly, it’s the sweet ‘We…stories’ that fuel us…and bring us peace, as we begin to move forward in life, without them.

I can only praise God, because He begins to soften Our cold, hardened hearts…

And He begins to fill that space left vacant, by the One who has passed on…

With the sweet memories that We once shared with Our Loved Ones.

God begins to negate all of those sad, cold, and painful Years…lost in Bitterness…With His Glorious Grace and His Marvelous Mercies!!

Our God is So Amazing!!

Thanks For Stopping By, Neighbor!!

God Loves You and So Do I!!

How To Get EVERYTHING You Want!!

-Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears and listens to and heeds My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will eat with him, and he [will eat] with Me.-

(Revelation 3:20)

Hey Neighbor!

It’s Another Flashback Friday!!

I was hoping to share the second portion of My cousins ‘important paper’ search: Take Off Your Cape and Rest in Christ’s Cape-ability.

But since it seems to have disappeared from my previously published posts, I decided to share this one instead.

It might seem a little graphic to some, but it’s time to stop sugar coating the truth!!

It’s time for real talk…with real Christians!!

Enjoy🤩

*********************************************

My 5 year old son, Hubie has a habit of yelling at our 14 year old daughter, Allie…in total rebellion to her attempts to redirect him.

He Screams…

“Allie!!  I can have WHATEVER I WANT!!”

Wow!!

Listen to the cry of the flesh!!

I know You hear it too!!

…those ear-shattering screams…coming from within Your soul…Crying Out,

“Give me EVERYTHING I want!!”

Give Me chocolate…

Buy me shoes…

Satisfy my sexual cravings…etc, etc…

Give me Everything I want!!!

But Why So Loud??

Well, The Flesh is attempting to drown out the humble cries of the Holy Spirit…Who is gently attempting to redirect Us…and get Us back on the right track with God.

He reminds Us that overindulging in chocolate will only make Us fat…

And those shoes will make Our ‘dogs bark’…

And sex- outside of marriage – will make Us itch and burn!!

Lol!!

The Holy Spirit is right there…gently urging Us to set Our sights on something greater than that which this world can offer…on those things that give Us eternal fulfillment…and on Someone Who can fill Our hearts with all that we thought was missing…and more!!

See Neighbor…Your heart does not have a hole shaped like a Hershey’s bar…nor does it have a shoe-shaped hole…and no style of sex can penetrate this hole. Lol!!

Why??

Because this hole that We all have been foolishly trying to fill is a Jesus-Shaped Holeā€¼ļø

Behold…Jesus is standing at the door of Your heart, knocking….

Can You hear Him??

Then…Go Ahead and Welcome Him In, and Give Him first place in your life..

Let His Holy Spirit Lead, Guide, and Direct You into All Truth…and Teach You to set Your sights on an Eternal life with Jesus in Heaven…

Where Ultimately…

You Will Have EVERYTHING That You Want!!

-Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need-
(Matthew 6:33)

Holy Spirit =Your ā€˜Tag-Team’ Partner!!

-But when the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Advocate, Intercessor, Strengthener, Standby) comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of Truth Who comes (proceeds) from the Father, He [Himself] will testify regarding Me- (John 15:26)

Hey Neighbor!

Here’s another ‘Blast from the Past’ for you!!

This one was written in January 2017 and it’s just perfect for those of you who have made New Year’s Resolutions and are currently in a Loosing Battle!

So, My advise to you is this:

TAG-IN The Holy Spirit!!

He Wants to help you win this Fight!!

I Hope this Helps!!…….

***************************************

I’m doing my best to start this year off right, but it has not been any fun. I was ill for several months in the latter part of 2016 and so my Acupuncturists suspected that I may have a wheat/gluten sensitivity and recommended that I modify my diet, by eliminating those food products from my diet for about 30 days and see if I start to feel better.

We’ll, as of Day 4, I am already feeling much better…that is after I eliminated coffee from my diet, AGAIN!!

I bought my husband the cool new Ninja coffee maker for Christmas and I thought I was a regular brewista, for a few days there. I had been making my husband a caffeinated cup and then I made a decaf for myself, but I just wasn’t able to digest it very well, so I made the difficult decision of adding my tasty morning coffee treat to the dreaded Elimination List...along with sugar!!😩

Well, Although my ears still feel full, and they’re still bugging me in the evening, making it difficult to sleep, I haven’t experienced any dizziness or lightheadedness and my blood pressure has been great…120/80 and lower!!

YAY!! Praise God for His Holy Spirit, as He is my most necessary helper, empowering me to get through these difficult days…teaching me what foods are tolerable for me and giving me the willpower to resist those that aren’t.

What are You planning to eliminate from your diet, or lifestyle for a healthier, happier life??

Is it a trigger food…like my delicious coffee or a longstanding habit like smoking, or maybe your goal is to just drop a few pounds…someone might even want to ‘eliminate’ an individual from your life who has been dragging you down…

Well, whatever the case may be, You are definitely going to need the The Holy Spirit to get You through this thing.

Remember He is Our ā€˜Tag-Team’ Partner in this thing called Life.

He’s there…just outside the ring of Your Soul, with His arms stretched out over the ropes waiting for You to realize that You cannot win this thing all alone.

Can’t you hear him??…cheering you on, and also reminding you that He wants to help!!

He says:

Hey!

Don’t forget Me!!

I’m Your Comforter…ready to bandage you up when life has knocked you around!!

Your counselor…when you need advice!!

Your Helper… cause you can’t do it all by yourself!!

Your Advocate… when you need someone to speak for you!!

Your Intercessor…because I’m praying for You, and seeking Out God’s will for your life!!

Your Strengthener…there to encourage you when your faith falls short!!

Your Standyby…and I’m tired of standing by over here on the other side of this ring!!

Would You Please Tag Me In!!

I Got You and We are definitely going to make it through this thing together!!

Remember,

In the End…We Win!!

Thanks For Stopping By…Until We Meet Again,

God Loves You and So Do I!!

Super-Faith Sunday Challenge 4/10 – Who Is She??

Hey Neighbor!

It’s a ā€˜day late and a dollar short,’ but Here is your Super- Faith Sunday Trivia Question for 4/10/2022.

Can You Guess the name of this Old Testament, ā€˜faith-full’ Woman of God??

Here are your clues!!

***************************************

She had heard rumors of the wondrous victories that The Lord had given to the Israelites; and although her neighbors were faint of heart after hearing about the terror of The Lord, she was not afraid!!

She courageously welcomed the two traveling Israelite men into her home. She secretly gave them lodging, and kept them from being discovered by their pursuers. She even assisted, as they hastily escaped from her city.

She had fervent hope, and confident expectation that ā€˜their’ God would reward her, and bless her father’s household by keeping them alive, because she had partnered with ā€˜their’ God’s plan to bring down the walls in her city.

She prayerfully and dutifully followed the instructions of these 2 men, down to the most minute details. She was so ā€˜faith-full’ to keep her part of the deal, believing these men could guarantee that her life would be saved.

But man’s temporary salvation was not enough for her, regardless of her sordid past.

She wanted the eternal salvation that could only come from the God in Heaven above. She believed that this same God could and would forgive her former sins and bless her latter years with victory and joy.

Indeed, ā€˜Her’ God did reward her ā€˜faith-fullness’ and He gave her as wife, to a direct descendant of the patriarchs – Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

How joyful she must have been when her great – great grandson was seated on the throne in Israel and she became a most merry ā€˜matriarch’ to a King!!

Who Is She??

****************************************

Have Fun!!  I will post the Answer for You on Tuesday – 4/12

Super-Faith Sunday Answer (3/27)- Who is She??

-He charged them and said to them, I am to be gathered to my [departed] people; bury me with my fathers in the cave that is in the field of Ephron the Hittite, In the cave in the field at Machpelah, east of Mamre in the land of Canaan, that Abraham bought, along with the field of Ephron the Hittite, to possess as a cemetery. There they buried Abraham and Sarah his wife, there they buried Isaac and Rebekah his wife, and there I (Jacob) buried Leah (Genesis 49:29-30)

Hey Neighbor!

It’s Tuesday 3/29/2022 and I have Your Super-Faith Sunday Answer From 3/27:

Who is She??Ā

She wasĀ LeahĀ and Here is her Story!!

******************************

In the dark of night, she was smuggled into the marriage bed by her Father, Laban.  But what would be her new husband’s response, at daybreak when he found the ā€˜other sister’ lying next to him instead of Rachel??

In the morning, Jacob was angry and he took his wrathful complaint to Laban, who promised him his youngest daughter to wife also – the sister that Jacob adored and had labored 7 years for. Yes!! Rachel was that sister that Jacob’s heart yearned for- She was the much prettier, and preferred sister.Ā

Now Scripture tells us that Leah, the older sister, had ā€˜weak eyes,’ yet they were strong enough to look upon her husband adoringly. You see, Leah loved Jacob, but he despised her. She had been humiliated by him, causing the light in her eyes to grow dimmer – day by day; But God saw her affliction and blessed Leah with a strong and fertile womb.

Rachel was indeed beautiful, but she was yet barren. God had closed her womb and Rachel could not understand this. She was quite unhappy and she blamed her husband, quarreling and faulting Jacob – even calling for death upon herself!!

-WHEN RACHEL saw that she bore Jacob no children, she envied her sister, and said to Jacob, Give me children, or else I will die!  (Genesis 30:1)

Instead of approaching God in prayer for deliverance, Rachel made undue demands of her husband, but Jacob emphatically reminded Rachel that it was God Who had prevented her from bearing children- not him!!

Still, Rachel grew more and more envious of Leah’s fruitfulness and She was tormented as Leah bore Jacob more children – one after the other!!

First came Rueben- See a Son!

Then came Simeon- God hears!

Still seeking to acquire Jacob’s love and attention, as her true marital partner, Leah then bore him Levi- Companion!

Unfortunately, Leah was yet despised and still humiliated!!

Next came Judah!!

Why Judah??

  • Again she conceived and bore a son, and she said, Now will I praise the Lord! So she called his name Judah [praise]; (Genesis 29:35)

Judah means Praise!!

You see Leah learned to redirect her focus- she had been desperately seeking the love of her husband, which had not profited her.

So now, Leah sought after God!!

The One who had Seen her tears in the dark and Heard her cries in the night!!

In her Praise, Leah found that she had now acquired contentment, and she was able to focus on the joy of motherhood!!

For those who are familiar with this story- these two ā€˜sister-wives’ go back and forth – in the spirit of competition, trading and exchanging Jacob like he was a Breeding Stud!! – even exchanging their handmaids as surrogate mothers.

From that union- Jacob produced 4 more sons. Two each, with his wive’s handmaids- Bilhah and Zilpah. These sons were named, Dan and Naphtali (Bilhah); and Gad and Asher (Zilpah).

Leah once again returns to the Lord in prayer, and the Lord blesses her womb and she bore Jacob a 5th son- Issachar (Hired)Ā

Where did she get that name?? That’s another story for another day- Yes! We will need hot tea for that oneā€¦šŸ«–

Now, at some point in the marriage, Jacob begins to spend more of his evenings, after work in Leah’s tent with the boys.  Maybe God had begun to soften his heart towards Leah.

Jacob had obviously taken more of an interest in Leah- beyond her beauty- or lack thereof, because Leah become pregnant again!!

She bore Jacob a 6th son, and she called him -Dwelling (Zebulun.)

Still Jacob must have continued on, hanging around @ Leah’s tent. Was she beginning to grow on him??

Well maybe so….because Leah was pregnant again!! This time with their 7th child!!

Together, Leah and Jacob finally had a baby girl. They called her Dinah!!

Yes! The Lord does finally open Rachel’s womb and gives her a son by Jacob. This was Jacob’s beloved son, Joseph-ā€˜the son of his old age,’ and Rachel called him- ā€˜May He Add.’

God does indeed add one more son to Rachel, at her pleading- but unfortunately, Rachel dies in childbirth, having their 2nd son, Benjamin whom she calls- son of my sorrow!!

Jacob and Leah grieved and mourned for Rachel and they buried her in Bethlehem.

Rachel had lived her life threatening and demanding that her womb be filled- even desperately using her maid as a substitute and a surrogate so that she might bear Jacob a son and to finally prevail against her sister, Leah.Ā

Leah copied Rachel’s ungodly tactic, but Leah had been watching her husband on those days when he dwelled in her tent.  And through those ā€˜weak eyes,’ she saw Jacob’s prayer life and she learned much about Jacob’s God.

Through Jacob, Leah learned how to pray and how to Bless God for His overflow!!

She realized that God had blessed her with each of her 7 children, and she was grateful to Him. She even remarked, after Asher and Gad were born; that she was Happy that Victory and Fortune had prevailed in her life!!

-And Leah said, I am happy, for women will call me blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied); and she named him Asher [happy]. (Genesis 30:13)

Leah believed that God had called her, Blessed!!

And she believed that others would call her, BlessedĀ of Women!!

Indeed she was- and though Leah was not directly listed as a Matriarch of the Messiah, she was the Mother of ā€˜Praise’-Judah, through whom the The Christ Child, called Savior would someday descend and thus Bless the World!!

Leah had fought a long and arduous battle for the love of her husband, Jacob…and we may never know if she truly won that battle, But instead, and Better yet- She Indeed Gained the Love of God!!Ā

Leah fought the Good Fight of Faith!!šŸ’•šŸ’•

Hey Neighbor!

Did You Miss Our Super Faith Sunday Challenge??Ā

The Good News is, No!! – You did Not!!Ā

Instead I posted, ā€˜A Little Sunday School Humor- Lol!’

This was actually a pretty cute story-and very short….if you want to backtrack and check it out- I think you will enjoy a nice chuckle!!

But for Today, I have a Tuesday Trivia Question for You!!

We’re still in the book of Genesis, where we’re highlighting the lives of the ladies in the Bible, and re-discovering some of the tests and trials of the ā€˜lesser’ known females in the Book of Genesis.

Last week we featured Tamar in our Super Faith Sunday Challenge. She was Our ā€˜Woman of the Week,’ and we learned how she stubbornly refused to accept ā€˜No!’ for an answer- from the men in her life.Ā

This week we find that in contrast, it was the obstinate young man in _____________’s life, who refused to accept ā€˜No!!’ for an answer.Ā

Here are Your Hints*****

***********************

  • __________________was an Israelite girl- born to the union of a man with a ā€˜great name’ and to his ā€˜lesser loved’ wife.Ā
  • __________________was her father’s first baby girl, amongst his 13 children; and she was her mother’s 7th child- and the last of her mother’s children, after she had given her husband 6 sons.Ā
  • __________________walks onto the pages of the Bible as a teenager, traveling to visit her new girl-friends, in her new town.Ā
  • Unfortunately, _________________was traveling alone and suffered a most undeserved fate, before her name eventually disappears from the pages of the Bible.Ā

A Little ‘Sunday School’ Humor – LOL!!

I wanted to Share This Sunday School Story with You that I read this Weekend.

It’s really cute…and it’s just another reason to bring the children to Sunday School.

Lol!!

Here’s The Story.

************************

Little Bobby was spending the weekend with his grandmother. His grandmother decided to take him to the park on Saturday morning. It had been snowing all night and everything was beautiful. His grandmother remarked…”doesn’t it look like an artist painted this scenery? Did you know God painted this just for you?”
Bobby said, “Yes, God did it and he did it left handed.”

This confused his grandmother a bit, and she asked him “What makes you say God did this with his left hand?”

“Well,” said Bobby, “We learned at Sunday School last week that Jesus sits on God’s right hand!”

…Too Funny!!

Hey Neighbor!

I have Trivia Thursday Answers for you today because today is – Solution Saturday!!

Obviously I’m an alliteration fan- Lol!! šŸ’•šŸ’•

This week I wanted to give some of the wives in the Book of Genesis a little attention, and We did!!

But Today, I also have to give Our ’Faith-Full’ CareBibleStudy follower, and my Super Faith husband some attention!!

Dewitt!!šŸ‘šŸ‘šŸ‘ā˜„ļøšŸ¤©šŸ¤©

Dewitt got all 6 Trivia questions correct- He also commented that #5- The Daughter of Shuah – was a really tough one!!

Thanks Hubby for Playing!!😘🄰

Ok- So We’ve all heard of the Patriarchs- Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob! But what about their wives??Ā

Aside from Abraham’s wife, Sarah, I don’t think we’ve studied very much about the other wives in Genesis- Have You??

How many of these wives did you recognize??

Which one was the toughest for You??

Now, If you’ve been studying along with us, most of these were eazy-peazy, because we’ve been going on and on about Jacob and hisĀ FOURĀ wives in our Lessons on, ā€˜The Pit Before the Palace.’ – with still more to come!!Ā

You can always backtrack and play catch-up, if you like!!

Our Question This Week was:Ā

Whose Wife is This??

Here are Your Answers:

Enjoy!!šŸ’•

***********************

  1. Rachel was the wife of Jacob. (Genesis 29:30)
  2. Asenath was the wife of Joseph(Genesis 41:45)
  3. Leah was the wife of Jacob. (Genesis 29:25)
  4. She falsely accused Joseph of rape- Her husband was Potiphar. (Genesis 39:14-15)
  5. She was the daughter of Shuah- Her husband was Judah. (Genesis 38:2)
  6. Dinah was the ā€˜wife’ of Shechem(Genesis 34:2-4)

I used ā€˜wife’ loosely here with #6.

As Dinah and Shechem were betrothed and she was taken into his household to wed.

There is so, so much more to Dinah and Shechem’s ā€˜love story.’  I will spill the tea on that soon enough- and be careful, cause the tea is Hot!!🄵

The Pit Before the Palace – Part 1

⁃ And they said one to another, See, here comes this dreamer and master of dreams. So come on now, let us kill him and throw his body into some pit; then we will say [to our father], Some wild and ferocious animal has devoured him; and we shall see what will become of his dreams (Gen 37:19)

Hey Neighbor!!

I was reading this morning about Joseph, the ā€˜master’ of dreams, as he was ā€˜so called’ and viciously mocked by his ā€˜green-eyed’ older brothers, who had grown to hate him.

Yes! I did say that Joseph’s brother’s hated him.

Why??

Well here is some family background first, which should help us understand why:

Joseph was the 11th son of 12 boys born into a household filled with jealousy and envy. Their father, Jacob, had 4 different wives… and 2 of those wives (Leah and Rachel) were sisters, who were constantly in strife, competing for their husband’s love, time, and attention, even though Rachel was openly recognized as Jacob’s favorite wife.

Now Jacob still had two 2 more wives, Bilhah and Zilpah- they originally served as handmaids to each of the sisters, but were now given, (in the spirit of competition) to Jacob, as concubines (secondary wives.)

Can you imagine the ongoing arguments inside of their tents??

Drama! Drama!! Drama!!!

Well…it didn’t make things any better after Jacob unashamedly proclaimed Joseph (Rachel’s boy) as his ā€˜favorite’ son and openly bestowed upon him a coat of many colors!

Now this is when we first learn (from Scripture) that Joseph’s brothers’ jealousy had been building and fermenting in their hearts and had matured into full grown hate! – Scripture tells us that they hated him so much that they would not speak to him- not even so much as to say Good Morning to him- Nor Good Night!!

I would imagine that each time they looked at Joseph wearing this beautiful, colorful coat…feelings of covetousness overcame them and thus they became even more enraged.

Now we know that Joseph did not hide this coat away in some secret drawer, as to calm and/or pacify his brothers’ rage.

And why would he??

Joseph both loved and honored his father, therefore he felt blessed to receive this precious gift and he was happy that his father had chosen to honor him with it – above all of his sons.

I’m sure that Joseph diligently cared for his coat, as this young shepherd had also cared for his fathers’ flock. I’m sure he was dutiful to keep it fresh, and crisp, and spot free. I’m sure that Joseph and his colorful coat were inseparable. In fact, We know that he was wearing his coat on the very day that his hate-filled brothers conspired to take his life.

-When Joseph had come to his brothers, they stripped him of his [distinctive] long garment which he was wearing; Then they took him and cast him into the [well-like] pit which was empty; there was no water in it (Gen 37:23)

Well you may say- what kind of dream did this boy have that would tick his brothers off to such an extreme that they would conspire against him and throw him into a pit??

Well….Here is Joseph’s 1st dream:

-We [brothers] were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright, and behold, your sheaves stood round about my sheaf and bowed down! His brothers said to him, Shall you indeed reign over us? Or are you going to have us as your subjects and dominate us? And they hated him all the more for his dreams and for what he said (Gen 37:7)

At this point, these wicked brothers were burning with anger and hatred. They were just about fed up with Joseph and these dreams, perceiving that Joseph viewed himself as superior to them. They feared this 1st dream was a prediction that Joseph would have dominion over them, and thus they feared that they would eventually become servants to Joseph.

Perhaps they were even more concerned that their much loved little brother, might usurp them chronologically and be given the birthright by Jacob- that is the double portion of their father’s blessing – which is traditionally given to the eldest son- that would be Reuben.

How could the youngest brother reign over the oldest?

How could this one son- reign over the many?

Well God explains why this thing would come to pass in 1Samuel 2:30 in regards to Eli’s two wicked sons- when He says:

-I will honor those who honor Me and I will lightly esteem those who despise Me.

Although the brothers were much offended by Joseph, his coat, and his dreams, God was using all of these these things for stumbling blocks to them, because they had despised their brother and their F(f)ather(s).

God had lightly esteemed Joseph’s older brothers because He knew their hearts to be wicked and He had witnessed their deceitful behavior. They had repeatedly dishonored their earthly father, Jacob and had therefore dishonored their Father in Heaven.

But God also knew Joseph’s heart. And… in Contrast, He had seen Joseph’s faithfulness- in that he was dutiful to his ā€˜dear old dad’ and all that Jacob possessed- Therefore, God chose to honor Joseph above all of his brothers, by causing Jacob to make this ā€˜son of his old age,’ a beautiful coat, which represented his future ā€˜prince-hood.’

Yes! Joseph’s dreams were indeed confirmation of things that were certain to come to pass.

And God had blessed Joseph ā€˜the dreamer’ with a prophetic peak into the Palace.

Yes! Joseph, the younger would indeed reign over the oldest- in fact, He would receive the birthright instead of Reuben.

Yes! Each of Jacob’s 11 (eleven) sons would indeed bow before the more righteous, (1) one- and they would once again call him ā€˜master’- in all his splendor!!

After all, God says the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. And very soon, Joseph will find himself in the Palace – Prince over great abundance, in a wicked land called Egypt.

We will continue this lesson next time and learn about Joseph’s 2nd dream and we will also learn why he would first find himself in the pit.

Along the way, we will gather some more history/background about the nature and character of Jacob’s brothers, who would continue to dishonor their F(f)athers.

God Has Heard Your Cries and He Has Sent Deliverance!!

-LORD, HOW they are increased who trouble me! Many are they who rise up against me. Many are saying of me, There is no help for him in God. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]!

But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, my glory, and the lifter of my head. With my voice I cry to the Lord, andĀ He hears and answers me out of His holy hill. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that.

Psalms 3:1-4

Hey Neighbor,

The Lord sits high upon his throne and looks low onto the earth at His people. He sees our tears. He’s witness to our suffering and his hands long to remove the heaviness of the world from our failing flesh. He says Look unto me, reach out your hand and take upon my yoke and release the hefty weight of your burdensome load. Cry out to me! Ask me for help! I hold the heart of the king in my hands and I can turn it in your favor or I can crush it, if in his vain, futile rebellion he does not submit.

Remember God always wins and He also causes us to triumph…as one songwriter says…that means He makes Us win!!

Look at the Hebrews that suffered under Pharoah in Egypt…day after day, their baby boys were being mercilessly thrown into the River Nile, but the cries of those weeping mothers had mounted up to the heavens and were heard at the throne of Grace. And God, in His mercy, sent deliverance…In the form of a beautiful baby boy who’s own little life was spared as he floated down the River Nile in a papyrus basket, bound for Pharoah’s household. He was no doubt an answer to the cries of a barren mother, Pharaoh’s daughter. She received him as her own son, in spite of him being a Hebrew child, and he was raised up as a prince in Pharaoh’s house. But as he grew…he could not bear to watch the oppressive treatment of his people, so he rebelled and would not submit to the will of his father, Pharoah, who had enslaved the Hebrews under the burdensome task of resurrecting monuments to celebrate his idolatrous rule and reign in this World. But Our God, The One who rules and reigns on high, once again heard the sound of the groans and cries that had stretched up to heaven although He had already seen firsthand the needless suffering of his ‘special’ people…Those whom he had handpicked and whom He had called ‘His Own.’ He saw how they had been misused and mistreated and forced to serve Pharaoh, who in his own vain imaginations, believed that he was the god over these People. Pharaoh had boldly usurped God’s authority, making himself Lord and King over those who were not ‘his own!’ He had no idea that he was merely a pawn on the Chess Game of God! God was using Pharaoh, hardening his Stone-cold heart as a means to turn the hearts of His Chosen People, Israel, back to Him.

Neighbor, God also holds your heart in his hand…does it beat for Him? Does it thirst for the life-giving blood of Jesus? Is it occupied by the presence of the Holy Spirit?
