This one was written in January 2017 and it’s just perfect for those of you who have made New Year’s Resolutions and are currently in a Loosing Battle!

So, My advise to you is this:

TAG-IN The Holy Spirit!!

I’m doing my best to start this year off right, but it has not been any fun. I was ill for several months in the latter part of 2016 and so my Acupuncturists suspected that I may have a wheat/gluten sensitivity and recommended that I modify my diet, by eliminating those food products from my diet for about 30 days and see if I start to feel better.

We’ll, as of Day 4, I am already feeling much better…that is after I eliminated coffee from my diet, AGAIN!!

I bought my husband the cool new Ninja coffee maker for Christmas and I thought I was a regular brewista, for a few days there. I had been making my husband a caffeinated cup and then I made a decaf for myself, but I just wasn’t able to digest it very well, so I made the difficult decision of adding my tasty morning coffee treat to the dreaded Elimination List...along with sugar!!😩

Well, Although my ears still feel full, and they’re still bugging me in the evening, making it difficult to sleep, I haven’t experienced any dizziness or lightheadedness and my blood pressure has been great…120/80 and lower!!

YAY!! Praise God for His Holy Spirit, as He is my most necessary helper, empowering me to get through these difficult days…teaching me what foods are tolerable for me and giving me the willpower to resist those that aren’t.

What are You planning to eliminate from your diet, or lifestyle for a healthier, happier life??

Is it a trigger food…like my delicious coffee or a longstanding habit like smoking, or maybe your goal is to just drop a few pounds…someone might even want to ‘eliminate’ an individual from your life who has been dragging you down…

Well, whatever the case may be, You are definitely going to need the The Holy Spirit to get You through this thing.

Remember He is Our ‘Tag-Team’ Partner in this thing called Life.

He’s there…just outside the ring of Your Soul, with His arms stretched out over the ropes waiting for You to realize that You cannot win this thing all alone.

Can’t you hear him??…cheering you on, and also reminding you that He wants to help!!

I’m Your Comforter…ready to bandage you up when life has knocked you around!!

Your counselor…when you need advice!!

Your Helper… cause you can’t do it all by yourself!!

Your Advocate… when you need someone to speak for you!!

Your Intercessor…because I’m praying for You, and seeking Out God’s will for your life!!

Your Strengthener…there to encourage you when your faith falls short!!

Your Standyby…and I’m tired of standing by over here on the other side of this ring!!

It’s ‘Oldie but a Goodie’ Friday, and today I have an oldie for you from a time when I was battling insomnia…not realizing back then that I had Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis and I was also very deficient in minerals, particularly magnesium and calcium.

I will probably write a Wednesday’s Health and Wealth blog for you Re: Hashimoto’s, but for today, here is your oldie!!

Did you know that David wrote most of the 150 Psalms??

This was his mental/emotional therapy as he suffered through the greatest trials of his life. Read Psalm 6:6 above again….

Here David describes his own experience with insomnia and great mourning.

Notice how David describes a night, devoid of sleep.

I can imagine that his eyes were red and heavy with bags underneath, because David tells us that he has been awake all night crying, quite intensely.

Of course David’s pillow was not literally soaked, nor was his bed flooded, but David wants us to know that he has had a long, tear-filled night, crying out to God for fear of his wicked enemies.

Well, like David, I needed some mental/emotional therapy also, because I’ve been battling some health issues, and I’ve found myself struggling with my own bouts of insomnia…

For hours and hours, through what seemed like endless night after endless night, my mind would just race like crazy with thoughts of impending doom, until I finally decided to take the Holy Spirit’s advice, and to calm myself, during my own long, worry-filled nights with a Psalm to Lord…so I wrote my own psalm!!

After all, a psalm is simply a poem, only it was written to be sung to the Lord as a hymn.

It is a poem that reveals the emotional intensity of someone’s personal experience with suffering and/or sometimes celebration.

Well, I certainly would have rathered be awake at 3 in the morning celebrating, but unfortunately, my experience was that of suffering…so here is my Psalm!!

Your life for mine, the ghost You gave
and my wretched sins, yes You forgave
So that the windows of my soul might see your face,
‘Til then I abide in that secret place
Awaiting the day my eyes behold Your Light,
sitting next to my Father- just there at His right
Grasping tightly to Your word, Lord I still stand
Praying for the mercy of your healing hand
Though sudden death lurks all about
And it’s hard for me to silence the doubt
I’ve questioned your will because of my fear
Still believing You know me and my prayers You hear
I know it’s Not long before Your Love is revealed
And I will shout to the world,
YES, I am healed!!

I hope that you were comforted by my Psalm and that it re-stimulates your confidence in God, and reminds You that God is still with You!!

Even in your time of trouble…when God’s voice seems silent, and when it seems God’s face cannot be found, He wants Us to lay our worries and concerns upon Him…not within Ourselves…lest anxiety take root in Our lives.

So, Remember This…As I am also reminded by the Holy Spirit…

On Wednesday’s I write a health and wellness blog, where I share home remedies and natural ways of treating some of our health concerns and conditions.

In yesterday’s post, I shared how my husband and I struggled to find relief for our daughter, Allie, through traditional medicines…to no avail!!

In fact, we found ourselves, like the woman with the issue of blood, seeking out doctor after doctor, but Allie’s condition only grew worse.

It wasn’t until we got down real low and stretched forth our hands to seek the Lord, first and foremost, that He began to make the crooked paths straight and open up the doors towards her healing and wholeness! 

In last week’s Trivia Thursday question, we wanted to know which sickly King received a death sentence from the Lord, via the Prophet Isaiah, but after the King turned and sought the Lord in prayer for his life…God sent the prophet back immediately, with a message of hope, restoration, and a home remedy.

God relented the curse, and extended mercy instead!! 

He extended the king’s life for another 15 years. 

Answer: That was the good king, Hezekiah. 

Now there was another King of Judah who also became very ill, but instead of seeking the Lord in prayer, or calling for the prophet..this king sought after the wisdom and knowledge of his physicians only, and that king died!!

Today is Wednesday, and Here is Your Nugget for this week…August 3, 2022.

Today’s nugget will hopefully benefit those who are battling with eczema and alopecia.

Last week, I promised you a testimonial on the benefits of Australian Tea Tree Oil – melaleuca.

So today I am gonna share my miraculous tea tree oil testimonial…or at least my eye witness testimonial of how tea tree oil restored hair growth to my baby girl’s balding scalp.

Well…Allie, who is now 20, was only 3 years old when she began to suffer with eczema, which is simply extremely dry patches of skin that become inflamed and excessively itchy.

So of course we took Allie to a dermatologist, who prescribed a steroid based prescription cream for her skin.

Now Allie was also having a terrible scalp issue, often called ‘cradle cap,’ so her dermatologist recommended that we also layer the steroid cream onto her scalp as well.

Initially, the prescription helped tremendously and Allie’s skin and hair began to show signs of healing. Now, if you know much about steroid creams, they often clear things up fairly quickly, but with eczema, at some point the dry patches become resistant to the treatment, rendering the cream ineffective…and therefore, the skin condition returns…oftentimes more stubborn than before!!

Well, what was the Dermatologist’s solution at this point??

A stronger prescription, of course!!

We accepted this temporary fix for quite a while, until we realized that the steroid cream had damaged Allie’s scalp, which left her with several bald patches throughout her hair.

So this time, the Dermatologist diagnosed Allie with yet another condition…alopecia!!

My husband and I realized at this point, that we were on the road to nowhere, so instead of accepting more prescription creams from the dermatologist, we decided that it was time to get to the root of the problem, which we had long suspected to be food allergies!!

We found a Naturopath who was also an environmental allergist. He was quickly able to determine that Allie’s skin condition was rooted from allergies to the foods that we had been feeding her, particularly wheat, corn, eggs, soy, etc. etc.

My poor baby was allergic to everything, because she had developed a yeast overgrowth in her gut, (candida) that had leached out from her gut and had permeated her bloodstream…thus the overgrowth of yeast on her skin (eczema) and in her hair (alopecia)!!

So our doctor started Allie on the ‘elimination diet,’ which further exposed more food sensitivities/allergies. I will post a link if you want to learn more about the ‘elimination diet’ and how it skyrocketed Allie’s road to wellness!!

This is a detailed 4 part Backstory about Allie’s Health Crisis and How God Healed and Restored our Allie!!

Oh my…It was truly a rough, roller coaster ride…but God brought us through it All!!

So back to the treatment of Allie’s scalp…

I had been doing some of my own research, because Allie’s health mattered most to me…and I had read that apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil were good treatments to kill a yeast overgrowth on the scalp, so I began to pour out half of her shampoo (into a separate container) and I refilled the half-empty shampoo bottle with apple cider vinegar…until the bottle was nearly full…then I topped it off with the tea tree oil…maybe 20 drops or so.

Of course, I saved the additional shampoo for later use…but I washed Allie’s hair every night with this mix for about 3-4 weeks, until one day I saw teeny tiny baby hair shoots coming up through her scalp!!

I was amazed!!

How did this happen??

Well, I didn’t realize it at the time, but this hair reveal had been progressing very gradually during our treatment period.

You see, after Allie’s nightly hair washing treatment, I would comb through her hair, and as I began to braid it, I began to notice loose pieces of skin on her scalp…so I would just peel that away. I didn’t know it at the time, but that loose skin was a dead skin layer that had become weak and had separated itself from her scalp!!

When I first saw this happening, I was initially panicked, because I thought Allie was just falling apart…but the tea tree oil/apple cider vinegar mix had been eating through the yeast buildup on her scalp…and as the yeast weakened, her very dry, patchy scalp began to soften up and eventually the layers of dead skin began to pull away…until finally the hair underneath was able to stretch forward!!

Praise the Lord!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾

With continual use, this nightly treatment produced a full, luxurious head of hair for my baby girl!!

In the Bible, sometimes the king would find himself ‘ailing’ and would be so filled with anxiety that he would seek a ‘word’ from the prophet…not the physician, asking him to confirm whether or not the illness would end in death.

Oftentimes, the prophet came bearing a poor prognosis…Thus todays Name that prophet question.

Which prophet had come to the king bearing very bad news regarding the kings condition, but a short time later, God sent him back to the king to remove the original death sentence!!

In this case, God heard the king’s pleas for mercy, and not only did God confirm that He was planning to heal the king, but God also caused this prophet/physician to return to the king’s bed chamber with a home remedy from Heaven!!

My Dad said he’s not sure if Isaiah gave him a remedy. He remembered another story where a prophet recommended fig leaves though.

May God Give Health To Your Countenance…(Psalms 42:11)

Today is Wednesday, and Here is Your Nugget for this week…June 8, 2022.

If your halitosis is hollering, try a probiotic!! 

You say…Tam, What is ‘hollering halitosis??’

Well, are you battling with bad breath?? 

If yes, your problem could very well stem from a microbiome imbalance.  

Last week we learned about the gut microbiome and the problems that surface when the bad bacteria in the gut overwhelms the good bacteria…your body begins to send clues that something is out of balance.

These clues are called symptoms!! 

If you recall, we talked about symptoms like…gas, burping, (belching) and bloating; but let’s also add bad breath to this list. 

Have you ever been riding in the front seat of your car, and find your passenger seat experience disturbed by bad breath wafting forward from the backseat??

Well this has happened to me quite often, and the offender is usually one of my children. 

When I am greeted by their hollering halitosis, I will often reach into my handy dandy purse and hand them a probiotic. 

In the case of bad breath, I will generally instruct them on how to carefully open the capsule and empty its’ contents (powder) into their mouths. 

This is where probiotics can once again be very beneficial…by balancing the bacteria inside the mouth, and by also feeding the good ‘bugs’ in the gut, helping them to multiply in numbers. 

This will normally resolve the problem…

If this does not resolve the issue, it’s generally because they (my kids) have a partially undigested meal, putrefying down in their gut…

In this case, I will also hand them a digestive enzyme that includes hydrochloride…you will need water for this one!! 

You see, sometimes there is just not enough stomach acid available in the gut to break down that meal, but the combination of these 2 supplements will go in and tag team the problem. 

For Your Health Homework: 

This week, I would like you to investigate the benefits of digestive enzymes…they mimic your own bodies stomach acid. 

We have often been told that our bodies are producing too much stomach acid, thus producing the heart burn and/or acid reflux, but I beg to differ.

Nuggets of Wealth For Life and Health – June

Hey Neighbor! 

On Wednesday’s in June, I will be enriching your life with some tiny nuggets of wealth, that will hopefully be beneficial for your health and wellness!!

For many years now, I have shared my wellness ‘secrets’ with my friends, family, and co-workers. 

Of course I don’t proclaim to be a physician, nor a nutritionist, nor do I proclaim to have cured or healed anyone. 

Only Jesus can do that!! 

But I do often suggest the use of certain products/brands that have been beneficial to myself, and my family when we have felt unwell. 

Now, If I was stranded on a desert island, and I could only take one herb or supplement with me…I would absolutely have to have my probiotic!!

You see our gut is a microbiome that consists of both good bacteria and bad bacteria; and more often than not, the bad ‘bugs’ have outnumbered the good ‘bugs.’

That’s where the probiotic comes in handy! 

A ‘good’ probiotic will feed and multiply your good bacteria, which will in turn help to rebalance the gut microbiome.

Some of the signs/symptoms of this sort of ‘imbalance’ are: gas, belching, and bloating…just to name a few.   

My personal favorite brand of probiotic is ‘Kyo-dophilus,’ and it has been a tried and true supplement for many years now, and it remains to be a dependable staple in the Weary household!!

The Pit Before the Palace – Part 1

⁃ And they said one to another, See, here comes this dreamer and master of dreams. So come on now, let us kill him and throw his body into some pit; then we will say [to our father], Some wild and ferocious animal has devoured him; and we shall see what will become of his dreams (Gen 37:19)

Hey Neighbor!!

I was reading this morning about Joseph, the ‘master’ of dreams, as he was ‘so called’ and viciously mocked by his ‘green-eyed’ older brothers, who had grown to hate him.

Yes! I did say that Joseph’s brother’s hated him.

Why??

Well here is some family background first, which should help us understand why:

Joseph was the 11th son of 12 boys born into a household filled with jealousy and envy. Their father, Jacob, had 4 different wives… and 2 of those wives (Leah and Rachel) were sisters, who were constantly in strife, competing for their husband’s love, time, and attention, even though Rachel was openly recognized as Jacob’s favorite wife.

Now Jacob still had two 2 more wives, Bilhah and Zilpah- they originally served as handmaids to each of the sisters, but were now given, (in the spirit of competition) to Jacob, as concubines (secondary wives.)

Can you imagine the ongoing arguments inside of their tents??

Drama! Drama!! Drama!!!

Well…it didn’t make things any better after Jacob unashamedly proclaimed Joseph (Rachel’s boy) as his ‘favorite’ son and openly bestowed upon him a coat of many colors!

Now this is when we first learn (from Scripture) that Joseph’s brothers’ jealousy had been building and fermenting in their hearts and had matured into full grown hate! – Scripture tells us that they hated him so much that they would not speak to him- not even so much as to say Good Morning to him- Nor Good Night!!

I would imagine that each time they looked at Joseph wearing this beautiful, colorful coat…feelings of covetousness overcame them and thus they became even more enraged.

Now we know that Joseph did not hide this coat away in some secret drawer, as to calm and/or pacify his brothers’ rage.

And why would he??

Joseph both loved and honored his father, therefore he felt blessed to receive this precious gift and he was happy that his father had chosen to honor him with it – above all of his sons.

I’m sure that Joseph diligently cared for his coat, as this young shepherd had also cared for his fathers’ flock. I’m sure he was dutiful to keep it fresh, and crisp, and spot free. I’m sure that Joseph and his colorful coat were inseparable. In fact, We know that he was wearing his coat on the very day that his hate-filled brothers conspired to take his life.

-When Joseph had come to his brothers, they stripped him of his [distinctive] long garment which he was wearing; Then they took him and cast him into the [well-like] pit which was empty; there was no water in it (Gen 37:23)

Well you may say- what kind of dream did this boy have that would tick his brothers off to such an extreme that they would conspire against him and throw him into a pit??

Well….Here is Joseph’s 1st dream:

-We [brothers] were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and stood upright, and behold, your sheaves stood round about my sheaf and bowed down! His brothers said to him, Shall you indeed reign over us? Or are you going to have us as your subjects and dominate us? And they hated him all the more for his dreams and for what he said (Gen 37:7)

At this point, these wicked brothers were burning with anger and hatred. They were just about fed up with Joseph and these dreams, perceiving that Joseph viewed himself as superior to them. They feared this 1st dream was a prediction that Joseph would have dominion over them, and thus they feared that they would eventually become servants to Joseph.

Perhaps they were even more concerned that their much loved little brother, might usurp them chronologically and be given the birthright by Jacob- that is the double portion of their father’s blessing – which is traditionally given to the eldest son- that would be Reuben.

How could the youngest brother reign over the oldest?

How could this one son- reign over the many?

Well God explains why this thing would come to pass in 1Samuel 2:30 in regards to Eli’s two wicked sons- when He says:

-I will honor those who honor Me and I will lightly esteem those who despise Me.

Although the brothers were much offended by Joseph, his coat, and his dreams, God was using all of these these things for stumbling blocks to them, because they had despised their brother and their F(f)ather(s).

God had lightly esteemed Joseph’s older brothers because He knew their hearts to be wicked and He had witnessed their deceitful behavior. They had repeatedly dishonored their earthly father, Jacob and had therefore dishonored their Father in Heaven.

But God also knew Joseph’s heart. And… in Contrast, He had seen Joseph’s faithfulness- in that he was dutiful to his ‘dear old dad’ and all that Jacob possessed- Therefore, God chose to honor Joseph above all of his brothers, by causing Jacob to make this ‘son of his old age,’ a beautiful coat, which represented his future ‘prince-hood.’

Yes! Joseph’s dreams were indeed confirmation of things that were certain to come to pass.

And God had blessed Joseph ‘the dreamer’ with a prophetic peak into the Palace.

Yes! Joseph, the younger would indeed reign over the oldest- in fact, He would receive the birthright instead of Reuben.

Yes! Each of Jacob’s 11 (eleven) sons would indeed bow before the more righteous, (1) one- and they would once again call him ‘master’- in all his splendor!!

After all, God says the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous. And very soon, Joseph will find himself in the Palace – Prince over great abundance, in a wicked land called Egypt.

We will continue this lesson next time and learn about Joseph’s 2nd dream and we will also learn why he would first find himself in the pit.

Along the way, we will gather some more history/background about the nature and character of Jacob’s brothers, who would continue to dishonor their F(f)athers.
