God Miniaturizes Mountains!!

Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

Hey Neighbor!

I’ve got another OLDIE but a GOODIE for you!!

It’s another blast from the past (2016), but it’s also another real-life victory that attests to the truth and value of the Scriptures in our real lives!!

Enjoy🤩

image

And Jesus answered them, Truly I say to you, if you have faith (a firm relying trust) and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and cast into the sea, it will be done (Matthew 21:21)

*****************************************

Well, my mountain manifested as three giant, rotten trees that loomed over my house for several years…and I was worried that they would become weighed down with snow this winter, causing the limbs to begin to break off and fall onto my roof. Unfortunately, I was not financially prepared to contact a professional tree cutter, so I was praying and trusting God for a resolution to my tree troubles.

Well, I was blessed to have a friend come out and cut them down for me…and not because I asked him too, but Because he was concerned about our welfare and the Lord had sent him.

He was no professional tree cutter, so after I made sure that my homeowner’s insurance was in place (lol), I agreed to let him proceed.

Again, he was a friend of mine, so I was also very concerned about his welfare…as he was standing there underneath that massive tree, so I found myself praying for his safety as the chainsaw slowly sliced through the tree…inch by inch.

Of Course the Lord Gave His Angel’s charge over Us to Protect Us and I Thank And Praise God for Miniaturizing my Mountain!!

My God was concerned about Me and my family’s welfare…and He sent Oscar to cut-down that looming threat…from over our heads.

It wasn’t long after the trees had been cut down and the logs neatly stacked along my driveway that I ran into this scripture, which I had written down this past Summer.

Even now the ax is laid to the root of the trees, so that every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire. (Luke 3:9)

And so, once again I was reminded of just how Loving Our God is, because while the weather was still hot and humid in June, and I was steadily worrying about what would befall Us with those trees…whether it would be drought, or wind, or rain to cause one of them to fall, God had already designed a plan.

When each of those trees had failed to acknowledge God first, for the very moisture that they needed to sustain its life…When they had failed to sprout leaves that would whistle in the wind, magnifying Him…and finally, when they had failed to produce fruit, God cursed them, having already laid the axe to their roots.

It reminds me of when Jesus cursed the fig tree that served no fruit, yet after it withered up and died, it served for fuel.

And now, during these frigid winter days and nights of below freezing temperatures, God has kept our family warm and cozy by the fire, as we most contentedly cast our wood…from those three rotten trees…into our fireplace.

Look At God…As He was caring about my family’s welfare, with such loving kindness, He was also tending to our need for warmth throughout this winter.

God is So Awesome!!…He indeed does miniaturize mountains!!

Thank You Jesus!!

Thanks For Stopping By…Until We Meet Again,
God Loves You and So Do I!!

This Too Shall Pass!!

Whatever You Are Going Through- Walk Through It By Faith, and Not By Sight!!

-We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.
(2 Corinthians 4:8-9)

Hey Neighbor!

Sometimes it seems like we’ve become burdened down with more weight than we can carry, but never forget the our God is a Heavy Load-lifter and a Mind-Regulator, and This Too, Shall Pass!!

Here’s Another Oldie-but- a-Goodie!!

*************************************

It’s been said that as We live this life, We will find that We are either;

Going through troubles..

Just coming out of troubles…

Or about to go through troubles…

For those of You going through today, I would like to Encourage You to Walk through it by Faith, and Not By Sight.

Take a Read through 2 Corinthians Chapter 4:

Paul tells Us that When we go through life’s tribulations; deterioration of the family, divorce and bitter separations, mental and emotional breakdown, financial woes, physical illness and pain, etc., If we will walk through it trusting in, and relying on God, then Our suffering is but a temporary, momentary, affliction…

And This Too Shall Pass!!

No!! Our troubles aren’t going to cease whenever we want them to; it’s not our own timing that’s important, but it’s God’s timing.

-But I trusted in thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand: deliver me from the hand of mine enemies, and from them that persecute me.

(Psalms 31:14-15)

Paul says that this current suffering that we are experiencing, in the natural, will produce great gains for Us spiritually, and eternally.

So although we are experiencing suffering in this fleshly tent, and these bodies that we live in are dying and deteriorating daily, Paul reminds Us that the inner man- the Spirit Man- is being refreshed and renewed daily!!

Paul encourages Us, as he reminds us that although there is trouble all around Us…

As we we walk through with God, He will give Us peace…so we’re not stressed-out.

When we are confused and perplexed, He gives us His grace (his kindness, mercy and favor)…so we’re not left in desperation and despair.

When we’re persecuted and it seems we’re fighting battles on every hand, Praise God we’re never forsaken nor defeated, because He causes Us to triumph over Our enemies.

Even when we are weak in the knees with fear and we fall down…it’s the Truth of God’s written Word that renews our Faith and Encourages Us to Get back up and Press On!!

Sometimes life’s roads appear to be rough, and rocky!!

And Yes!! Sometimes those mountains do look insurmountable, but your troubles won’t last always!!

God will give you hinds’ feet!!

And as you journey through these crooked places, with God’s Word in Hand and His Word hidden in Your Heart, you will make spiritual progress and You will make it out alright!!

By Faith, You will reach the summit – leaving your troubles and your sufferings far behind!!

So Be Encouraged Today!!

This Too Shall Pass!!

Trivia Thursday – Name That Prophet!!

-So Bathsheba went to King Solomon to speak to him for Adonijah. The king rose to meet her, bowed to her, sat down on his throne, and caused a seat to be set at his right hand for her, the king“s mother. (1Ki 2:19)

Hey Neighbor!

On (Trivia) Tuesday, We were searching through the Bible for a certain king (Solomon), who had no choice but to execute his misbehaving older brother, Adonijah!!

Adonijah had deceptively sought the assistance of the queen-mom, Bath-Sheba, as he strategically sought to strengthen and exalt himself within the kingdom.

In the lead scripture above, we see where Bathsheba approached her son, Solomon to make this ill-advised request, on the behalf of Adonijah!!

This was not a very wise move on the part of Bathsheba…and although Solomon did not discipline his mother for making this near treasonous request, he did admonish her…for the queen-mom was not operating in the best interest of her king/son.

Now there was another queen-mom, who was indeed striving to be an asset to her son and his kingdom, although he was a defiantly, wicked king.

She had witnessed the great sufferings of his father, and wanted to lend her son some wisdom and advice from his father’s fateful reign as king.

This mother graciously approached her son, recommending that he seek counsel from his father’s ‘tried and true’ seer, regarding the fallout from her misbehaving son’s afternoon of drunkenness and revelry!!

The queen mother had overheard her son’s frantic conversation inside the banquet house…and thus the king was extremely terrified and greatly perplexed with his troubles, so much so that the blood had drained from his face, and his knees had begun to knock!!

When the King’s great and ‘wise’ counsel of men could not help her son to resolve his perplexing problem, mom stepped in with her wise recommendation…

It was time to call ‘The Man of God!!’

Who was this ‘Tried and true’ Prophet/Seer that had come so highly recommended by the queen-mom??

*******************************************

Can You Name This Prophet??

Trivia Tuesday- Name That King!!

-While there was war between the houses of Saul and David, Abner was making himself strong in the house of Saul. Now Saul had a concubine whose name was Rizpah, daughter of Aiah. And Ish-bosheth said to Abner, Why have you gone in to my father“s concubine? (2 Samuel 3:6-7)

In the lead scripture above, we find Abner, stretching forth his control and authority over Saul’s younger son, Ishbosheth…by taking claim and possession of the (deceased) King’s concubine.

You see, after the death of Saul and Prince Jonathan…Abner, Saul’s uncle and military commander, sat Ishbosheth upon his (deceased) father’s throne, in Israel.

In reality, Uncle Abner was the mastermind and the actual figure of authority in Israel, while Ishbosheth merely sat upon the throne…in (Saul’s) name only!

This power-play of Abner’s, further humbled and humiliated a powerless Ishbosheth, and it also publicly revealed the gaps in this young king’s armor.

Now, in a similar story in the Bible, we find that another close relative of a freshly anointed king (this time an older brother) has also made a power-play to strengthen and exalt himself by using their (deceased) father’s concubine as his power pawn ♟

Although this princely brother had been next in-line to the throne, he had failed to receive enough public support to successfully reign in their father’s stead.

So, in his second attempt towards the throne, the king’s older brother approached the queen mom, peaceably, and requested to marry this concubine.

When word of this older brother’s petition reached the king’s ears, the king quickly recognized his big brother’s clever request for what it truly was…yet another strategic, attempt to usurp the throne!!

This angry king had previously shown his big brother great mercy, but this time, he must strengthen himself, and for the surety of his throne, the king must remove and execute this Usurper!!

******************************************

Who was this (older) Brother/Usurper??

And

Who Was This King??

Bible Brain Teaser (Find 30 Books) Answers!!

I forgot to Post Your Answers to This Brain Teaser!!

******************************************

Can you find thirty (30) books of the Bible in the paragraph, below? Actually there are thirty-one (31) Bible names if you can find the variant of one Old Testament prophet.

********************************************

This is a most remarkable puzzle. It was found by a gentleman in an airplane seat pocket, on a flight from Los Angeles to Honolulu, keeping him occupied for hours. He enjoyed it so much, he passed it on to some friends. One friend from Illinois worked on this while fishing from his john boat. Another friend studied it while playing his banjo. Elaine Taylor, a columnist friend, was so intrigued by it she mentioned it in her weekly newspaper column. Another friend judges the job of solving this puzzle so involving, she brews a cup of tea to help her nerves. There will be some names that are really easy to spot. That’s a fact. Some people, however, will soon find themselves in a jam, especially since the book names are not necessarily capitalized. Truthfully, from answers we get, we are forced to admit it usually takes a minister or a scholar to see some of them at the worst.
Research has shown that something in our genes is responsible for the difficulty we have in seeing the books in this paragraph. During a recent fund raising event, which featured this puzzle, the Alpha Delta Phi lemonade booth set a new record. The local paper, The Chronicle, surveyed over 200 patrons who reported that this puzzle was one of the most difficult they had ever seen. As Daniel Humana humbly puts it, “The books are all right here in plain view hidden from sight.” Those able to find all of them will hear great lamentations from those who have to be shown. One revelation that may help is that books like Timothy and Samuel may occur without their numbers. Also, keep in mind, that punctuation and spaces in the middle are normal. A chipper attitude will help you compete really well against those who claim to know the answers. Remember, there is no need for a mad exodus; there really are 30 books of the Bible lurking somewhere in this paragraph waiting to be found. God Bless.
*******************************************

Here Are The Books in the order they appear in the Paragraphs:

*******************************************

1. Amos

2. Mark

3. Luke

4. John

5. Joel

6. Judges

7. Job

17. Genesis

18. Philemon

20. Daniel

21. Nahum

22. Hosea

23. Lamentations

Jesus Has A Warrant Out For Your Salvation!!

-Or what woman, having ten [silver] drachmas [each one equal to a day’s wages], if she loses one coin, does not light a lamp and sweep the house and look carefully and diligently until she finds it-
(Luke 15:8)

Hey Neighbor!

Jesus was an Awesome Story Teller….

In Luke 15:8-10, He Tells a Parable about a woman who had lost a coin…Well this woman had obviously misplaced one of her silver coins and had begun to despair over it. Now when she realized that one of the coins was missing, it must have been in the evening time, because scripture tells us that she needed light…so she lit a lantern.

You see…this woman couldn’t rest because she needed to locate the thing that she had lost…and she needed the light to help her navigate her way through the maze of furniture, in the darkness.

So She began to clean her house…Can you picture her sweeping the dirt floor, bending down to look underneath the furniture and peering behind the doors, emptying baskets, and wiping the dust from the tables. We don’t know how long the woman searched…but it is quite possible that she was up all night…she was steadfast and determined to spot out her lost coin of silver…when suddenly, her eyes finally noticed the sparkle of the coin, reflected by the light. She had found it!!…and what did she do??

She ran to her neighbors houses, awaking them…to share the Good News, so that they might come to celebrate this joyous occasion!!

-And when she has found it, she summons her [women] friends and neighbors, saying, Rejoice with me, for I have found the silver coin which I had lost-
(Luke 15:9)

The thing that was lost..was now found!!

Super-Faith Sunday Riddle – Who Am I??

Hey Neighbor!

It’s Sunday, September 18, 2022 and Here is Your Super-faith-full female of the week!!

Can you Solve My Riddle??

********************************************

Why was he saddened, though he returned home in peace

For there should have been joy and a celebratory feast

God had wrought victory for Israel, yet once again

He had no son to greet him, I was his nearest, next of kin

I heard no gladness in his voice, neither did I see a gleam in his eyes.

But Daddy looked dismayed, as if he wanted to cry

For he had opened his mouth, and was bound by a promise to keep

Had he envisioned a dog, a goat, or a sheep

I prayed he would permit me a month or two to tarry

To mourn and lament my prohibition to marry

Never would I know wedded love, nor romance

Since I played festive drums, with the song and the dance💃🏽

Check Yourself or Be Checked! Part I

-For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. But when we are judged, we are chastened of the Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world- (1Cor 11:30)

 Hey Neighbor!

Here’s another ‘ Oldie’ blog for You from 2015!!

Enjoy🤩

******************************************

Today’s Lesson is a reminder that As Leaders in our homes, on Our jobs, in Our schools, and in Our churches, etc., we have a responsibility to Judge Ourselves or better yet to Check Ourselves or Be Checked by God!!

In Today’s Bible Story, We Meet the High Priest, Eli in 1 Samuel 2:12 and his Two wicked sons, Hophni and Phinehas who served as priests in the tabernacle at Shiloh.

Now Eli also Served as Israel’s Judge, however, he failed to judge or check himself and his boys, so eventually, God Checked Eli.

The Result was the death of Eli and both of his two son – all in one day…in addition to the eventual death of the Church at Shiloh.

Today, We Will begin Our Lesson with the introduction of Samuel, who was also like a son to Eli, into the priesthood at Shiloh.

(To Read More about Samuel’s Birth, Read the Lesson titled,’Bible Trivia Answer: Hannah’s Prayer.’)

Here is Part I of Our Lesson….

****************************************

Now, Samuel was only about 3 years old when he was weened by his mother, Hannah who had dedicated the boy to the Lord’s service in the Tabernacle at Shiloh, before the High Priest and Judge of Israel, Eli.

Now Eli was very old and had two adult sons of his own. These two sons were named Hophni and Phinehas and they were both worthless and wicked priests.

Verse 2:29 tells Us that they treated God’s sacrifices with contempt, as they greedily fattened themselves by taking the choicest portion of every offering from the offerer – by force.

Verse 2:12 tells us that although Hophni and Phinehas were priests in the church and ministered before the Lord, they did not ‘know’ or regard the Lord – but Young Samuel – who did not yet know the Lord, was both faith-full and obedient to the Lord and also to Eli.

Eli loved Samuel. He accepted Samuel into his home and raised him up in the priestly order.

In essence, Eli was blessed with another son…a son that would adhere to both God’s laws and to Eli’s instructions.

Samuel also loved Eli. He cared for his elderly, adopted dad and catered to his every need.

Whenever Eli called, Samuel came running! Chapter 3- Verse 4 tells Us about and evening when Samuel came running to Answer Eli’s Call, only to learn that it was not Eli calling Samuel…but God was calling Samuel.

It was shortly after both Eli and Samuel had retired for the night and had gone to bed, when Samuel heard his name, “Samuel!”

He hurried to Eli to see how he could help, but Eli sent him back to bed, telling the boy that he was mistaken, because he had not called for Samuel.

Again the young boy hears his name again, as he lies upon his bed, “Samuel!” So once again, he returns to Eli, only to be sent back to bed, because, again, Eli had not called the boy.

So after a third round of this, Eli finally perceives that it is The Lord Who is Calling Samuel, so Eli instructs Samuel to go back to bed a third time, but this time, with instructions. Eli instructs Samuel how to respond to Lord, telling him, if he hears the Voice calling his name again…answer like this:

‘Speak Lord, for Your servant is Listening.”

Now Verse 3:10 Tells Us when the Lord called Samuel the fourth time, He called Samuel’s name twice, “Samuel! Samuel!”

The Lord comes and stands before Samuel, as he is lying in his bed, So Finally, Samuel answers God… Just like Eli instructed him and God began to give Samuel an earful.

Can You imagine this Young boy lying there, probably terrified, afraid to look up at the Vision of the Lord standing about his bed…as he is getting a full download from God- and it was all about Eli and his two wicked sons.

How interesting that Verse 15 tells Us that Samuel laid there until Morning…I wouldn’t have moved a muscle until daybreak either and I’m pretty sure Samuel didn’t get his 40 winks that night! Lol!!

God was delivering a Message to Eli through the young prophet, Samuel.

God had previously checked Eli, putting him on Notice about His Son’s Behavior in the church, but Now God was Sending Forth Judgement. We will Discuss God’s Judgement of Eli’s Family in Part II.
