The Hushers!!
Six-year old Angie and her four-year old brother Joel were sitting together in church. Joel giggled, sang, and talked out loud. Finally, his big sister had had enough. “You’re not supposed to talk out loud in church.”
“Why? Who’s going to stop me?” Joel asked.
Angie pointed to the back of the church and said, “See those two men standing by the door? They’re Hushers.”🤣🙃🤪😂

Thanks For Stopping By!!

I can certainly identify with you Jessy! Seems like The Lord always leads me into the children’s ministry as well, and because my children were often my students, they had greater responsibilities and chores in the church…and they really needed that!!
Thanks so much Jessy for sharing your experience in the Lord’s Service💕💕

I appreciate this insight. Sounds like you definitely learned discipline. At my previous church, I was over the children’s and youth ministries and one thing implemented was service. Having young people serve helps ward off entitlement and helps them to grow. It also helps those mentoring them to lead and demonstrate how to lead effectively. There is definitely a sense of responsibility when we begin to serve. It starts in the church and carries over into our communities.

Thanks so much for your insight and your personal perspective. I am a landlord and one of my ‘pet peeves’ is cigarette butts and litter thrown about, so I am with you on that. I love how God allowed you to see the gaps in the ministry and He gave your the spirit and the desire to fill them. This is phenomenal- Thanks for Sharing Mr. Mutumbu💕🙏🏾

From off my head I gained humility, taking responsibility( the fact that if we don’t clean the sanctuary the church service will be affected. Then I remember upto now I am not comfortable with people who throw litter in the streets you know that sense of responsibility for comnunity or shared resources it overtook me.Then I learnt to see gaps and cover them in the ministry of which most gaps are opportunities for God to bless you.I also acquired the art of being faithful and loyal. We knew that even if other people don’t come to church or other church functions we will be counted on that at least ushers will be there😀😀😀😀.
Some of the the things I agained are not quantitative but qualitative.I got a Job in the bank without a degree, just because of those desirable traits …the list goes on and on.

I’m so glad🤪you enjoyed the joke and also your time as an usher. I would love to inquire how serving as an usher helped your spiritual journey?
